Being gay myself, I used to be offended by that. Of course nobody means it to be offensive to gay people, but it shows that they correllate it with being negative. Just like "shit" means awful, not excrement. And "fucking hell" doesn't mean "bad sex". I don't take offence anymore, but it's still annoying. I don't use the term myself. And yes... effeminate/girly/poofy gays are bloody annoying. But most of the ones I know don't fit that.

Absolutely right. Downloading a copy of the game for free is illegal. Copying a friend's copy of the game is illegal. Do not do it, do not ask how to do it. Either buy it from a shop, or pay for and download it legally from Direct2Drive or Steam.

With the downloads, there are a lot of tools in there which 'hack' your system in order to change the game. For example, trainers literally alter the contents of your RAM to change in-game variables. Anti-virus software detect this and report it. These are all tested to a certain degree before being approved, and most likely all of them are completely harmless. So the reports are mostly correct - they do use virus-like techniques - but it's harmless, that's just how they work. You know where it came from and what it does, so you know it's safe to run. Thanks for letting us know anyway. Perhaps we should put an explanation in the downloads area?

If someone had a sig wider than someone's screen, that would cause the page to stretch. That would force those people to scroll horizontally to be able to read anything. Most people use 1024 or 1280 widths, although quite a few people have larger or smaller screens. Just like a lot of people still use Internet Explorer 6 - we can't make the site only work in new versions or other browsers, cos that isolates those people out. Why do you want a wider sig? Chris manages with a very small one, and everyone else in this topic is under the limit. Surely your post content is more important than a collection of userbars or links to your personal sites?

There's no chance of that - by far most people still have 1024 or 1280 widths, and that would go offscreen for them and force them to scroll. 1000px is the only one that will fit on all those, but can look a bit silly if you do have a screen wider than 1600px

In task manager, go to file/run, type compmgmt.msc That takes you to the hub for most administrative tools, and you don't need explorer running to get there.

Who said anything about an animated gif? This is just a dodgy flash script that's probably loading far too much data into RAM, and your PC is complaining about it.

This will be one of the adverts on the site doing something a bit complicated, and your PC might not be able to handle it. Either that or the advert could be broken (if it does it for everyone). We have no direct control over the adverts (save of removing them altogether), but we can request that dodgy ones don't get shown. If you get that message, just click yes to stop that script. If it happens to lots of people, we'll try and figure out which advert is causing the problem, and try and solve it.

I agree with Chris82. I don't like insects flapping about in my face, it can make me uncomfortable and (at the most) I jump if it surprises me. But I'm not afraid of them. I'll happily hit them, squash them, swat them, spray them etc. There's no fear. So I don't really understand 'irrational' fears. All the ones I (mildly) have are genuine causes for concern, such as heights, darkness, vicious/poisonous animals etc - and even then none of them terrify me (although some could I suppose). How can people be terrified of inert objects? Very strong hate is one thing, feeling ill is one thing, but being frightened for your life??

Mods need to be approved by staff before they appear. There is a bit of a backlog, so this may take a while. Be patient and it'll show up eventually. Don't upload it multiple times, because that just makes the backlog worse and delays everyone else's mods.

Your CPU usage only reflects what your computer is calculating at that precise moment in time. Loads of programs sitting open (doing nothing) won't use any CPU at all. Moving your mouse will use a lot more. That stat is irrelevant, unless its high all the time, which means its struggling. Mine never goes over 6% unless I'm doing something in particular. The more apps you have open, the more RAM you'll be using up. That doesn't depend on your PC, that's the same for everyone. The difference is if you PC doesn't have enough RAM, it'll start to use the (slower) Hard Disk instead. 1.2 GHz AMD Athlon is pretty slow, unless its an Athlon 64 dual-core one, which would be normal 512MB of RAM is adequate for most things, but not modern gaming (older stuff like GTA SA would be fine) 256MB video memory is adequate. Not the best, and GTA IV won't run hi-res on it. Long and short of it... you'll probably be able to RUN gta iv, but not at any sort of quality. If you have a console version, that'd be much better quality and more reliable. Hope that helps...

Downloading GTA from the internet, or copying a Friend's game is ILLEGAL and will not be tolerated on this site. Buy the game like everyone else. It is worth paying for. Why should we have to pay for you to play it for free?

The marines are insanely tough guys. And a lot less self-loving than the US Marine Corps. Have you got any military experience? Cadets or family or anything? It's gonna be pretty tough, so you have to know what you're letting yourself in for. I almost got into the RAF as an Officer, but after going through several phases of the selection, couldn't do it at the last minute for a technical reason. I'm intending to join the Royal Navy as an Officer instead, which is gonna be pretty awesome. EDIT: I just got an email saying there's a live chat today from RM Captain Paul Barden.

Guys... the text has just been removed cos of the update. It happens every time we upgrade, because it isn't there by default. Chris or Sky will add it back in, and everything will be fine.

Looks pretty good to me. Your accents look right, and your tenses all seem spot on. Except "le personne" should be "la personne" both times - it's feminine, you can tell by the -nne suffix. I'd combine the last two sentences, maybe add mais or something, just to make it a little more challenging gramatically. Also, get rid of the very first comma (after présente), or turn it into an ellipsis... Perhaps add something about whether you like tacos, or when you first had a taco you loved it.

Like I said, they've recovered their oldest surviving archive and made it available online to celebrate their birthday.
