I posted a poll in the GTAIII section, asking people if they still play it and if its worth us adding more stuff. If we get a resounding "not bothered" or "don't care" then I think it would be safe to strike it off the list, along with classic GTA. I never played GTAIII very much, mainly due to me not owning it (even now), so i think a poll would be better. I don't think there will be many gtaIII fanatics out there, but I expect that people still play it occasionally.

Would you like to see thegtaplace still updating its GTAIII section? Do you want to see more gtaIII mods, walkthroughs, hints and articles? We need to know what you think, so we know if we should revisit the adding of GTAIII content, so let us know.

What is the point of having the game if you don't want to complete it yourself? It isn't the hardest mission, have a look round the web for a walkthrough if you aren't sure how to do it. Don't forget you're using the 'special controls' to tilt the cars to the music. I presume you have the PC version anyway.

Mainly at the moment we are looking for articles about games/gaming/consoles of the past/present/future. If you wanna help out, sign up on the site, write something, anything, of a decent length, and either post it in the "submit news" or "submit reviews" forum

I recommend you prioritise things. Right, let one thing be known. The Codename Gaming site is NOT finished, and is NOT in its final state, and WILL improve before it is completed. We are looking for writers, to help us with content, so that when we do finish the site, the visitors have something to look at. I don't want people to visit now, think that there's nothing good there, then never visit again. It is still in the developmental stage, like the RC1 if you like. We want people who: play games can write in English have an Internet connection are familiar with IPB (like these forums you're using now) That's a list that includes just about everybody here, no doubt. PLEASE try to talk in good english - its painful These races are the ones you just have to get good at. You can't use your own cars and you can't do anything else without editing the speed of the care you're in or using a trainer to boost your speed. Thats cheating though.

Sorry Adriaan, he doesn't need to contact you. If you go to the Submit a Mod Page, he can submit his mod up to The GTA Place's downloads database. Once this is approved by a moderator, it will go live. The link is also at the top of the downloads section. But if your mod is bigger than 2MB, you will need to reply here and we'll sort it out manually. If you could upload it to another site or server, then leave the link here, we could download it and upload it manually. Most people on first glance seem to want the PS3 - just about everybody I've spoken to has done anyway. But after closer inspection, and Microsoft's heavy promotion and magnitudal previews, in amazing quality, the ability to connect to a PC to become a WMC, and all these extra little things add up to make a much more attractive sytem. Okay the PS3 seems to have a bit more growl in it, and the Revo (Thats just a codename I believe) just is small and looks good. I agree with Spaz. All three, I say *goes to New Orleans to loot myself one*

The problem looks like its with your PC speed. Make sure you have enough RAM (SA needs 512mb to work well). Try the game without any mods and see if that helps with the speed. Seeing only the paintjob? I know of when you can only see the body of the car, in white, with no paintjob - thats usually because of a lack of RAM or a problem with the txd. If it sometimes works, then i can only suggest a RAM upgrade for your PC.

I think it should go ahead, but I can't see too many people getting rid of the SA themes in favour of Star Wars. If enough skilled people were on the team, it would be great.

delete which file? Deleting the entire gtavc folder wouldnt have let him get into gtavc.exe to start it. It sounds like you have one too many or too few files in gta3.img Check to see that you have two skimmer files - skimmer.txd and skimmer.dff - you should NOT have more than one file of each of those. You should not add any extra files named after the new plane either. Remember only plane mods will work for planes, and only vice city mods will work in vice city Try installing the DMagic1 wheel mod as well as the skimmer mod. This is needed if the creator of the new vehicle has given the new vehicle new wheels. If none of this works, (keep the dmagic1 wheel mod installed) reinstall vice city. Replace one type of thing at a time for the new place. Just replace the dff+txd in gta3.img, if that works replace the default.ide line (if there is one), if that works replace the handling, then the carcols etc. You should be able to find out exactly where the problem is, and it might even be the mod itself, or the instructions. Download a different similar mod (another plane for example) and compare the instructions to see if there are too many numbers or not enough commas or something. Also make sure that gta3.img is not read-only. If you still can't get it to work, try another mod, try and find a VCM version of the mod (automatic installation) and contact the author of the mod.
