That was a pointless bump. For one, we use IPB and are not experts or users of phpBB. Look on a phpBB mods site if you want to find one. IPB equivalents can be found at invisionize.com

because old topics are useless. Why don't people dwell in the past?

Yea i'd like to meet chris, mvi, sky and chris82. I'd wait until all of them were with me and i had a few large adults around before i met spaz. He's volatile

You do need to edit the stuff in the Flying Handling Data section, marked by lots of dollar signs ($). Edit the thrust on line 387, as well as the max velocity and accelleration on line 301, in the main section.

Should work if you: Put all the files from the archive into the main SA folder Run it and click set Then run the game Bear in mind you will have to add some serious numberage on to get effective results, try the biggest it suggests. You can actually drive round underwater from your savegame point, up until you go near the surface, then the normal underwater behaviour will kick in.

If you go to the downloads area of this site, choose a download you like, download it, and follow the instructions in the README file. Most mods will require you to edit the gta3.img file found in the /models/ folder in your gtavc installation folder. You will need to download an IMG editing tool to do this. Only Vice City mods will work in Vice City, so don't use ones from other sections.

I reluctantly agree with spaz. Increasing the difficulty of reaching the exciting parts of the game would suck major ass (eg only being able to find a minigun once every couple of weeks cos its so illusive). If the city was more detailed, textures better, a whole load more interiors, yea that kind of unrealism is better. But the whole point of the game is to release your destructiveness. If you get busted you shouldn't only be able to play the game inside a jail cell for six months.

Yea i agree there, having all the GTA cities merged at the end, or after a few more cities, would be great. You see all these people still wanting to play VC and GTAIII because its maybe a better city, or more familiar, or just a change from SA. You see the GTA LVS team putting all the GTAIII series cities into SA, to gain free roam and its improved features. If we had a few more cities, maybe ten more i don't know, and Rockstar put them all into one game, maybe as an expansion pack for one of the games, the price of a new normal game, then they would still earn on what they would be giving for free. Okay it would be a big-ass game, but it would be a kick-ass game.

I've edited the poll a bit, so it makes a bit more sense. I vote for Urban terrain, would be awful if there was only like a small city and miles of countryside. Although i wholeheartedly believe there should be large open spaces.

Houston sounds pretty funky to me. Seems to have a nice variety of terrain, and a significant city. Maybe even Space Center could be included, although in exploratory rather than an extra-terrestrial use. If a big nonlocational SA mod was made, it should look like Houston. No I've never been.

@ Rosenberg, how long do you think that would take, to make the entire United States into a game, including every state and city. SA only had 3 cities, in a very small state. There are 50 states and god knows how many cities in the USA, so the game would have to be a few hundred times larger. Plus the new features, a mega storyline, missions, and many new vehicles. That would take hundreds of times longer than SA to complete for the same size team. San Andreas took 2 years, an entire US game would take 300 years by current standards. Don't think thats gonna happen. Okay it will be exponentially larger probably, but not that size. Definitely no more than 10 small cities, or 5 larger ones. The difference with SA is that a "city" counts as the surrounding countryside and nearby towns and villages, and things were stretched out more. GTA4 may have very different areas, just like SA but on a bigger scale.

I'm not just on about crap cars, i'm on about poorly made cars, ones that haven't had the time and effort put into them. And its not just cars either, Vice City was shoddy when it came to buildings, many were imported from gta3, and almost all textures were copied. In the airport, the doors on the dummy terminal building were shorter than the automatic-door texture placed on them. San Andreas was much better for this, and obviously a strenuous amount of time had been taken in creating variation - no two neighbourhoods are the same, even ones very close by. Shame about the trams being useless though... If we gave them more time, okay yes its not our decision, but if we don't pile on the pressure so that Take 2 can relax the deadlines a bit, then we could end up having a significantly better game.

After three arduous months of stunting and editing, our official stunter, Ghostchild has finally released his latest video entitled "Wichita". The video marks a new age in stunting. As people got tired of seeing stunters jump from ground to roof by hitting some bike hooked up to a poll, Ghostchild took upon the task of finding a new way to stunt. After months of trying in Vice City he had no luck, but then San Andreas were released. And many of you may remember those air acrobatics stunts, that were in many of the stunt videos recorded on Play Station 2? Well, Ghostchild took it one step further. He has now completed the video showing you what he came up with. The video contains the best air acrobatics stunts to date and one great editing job. Ghostchild says: Watch the Video Also, if you would like to check out Ghostchild's previous stunt videos be sure to download Draw Dead and Gasoline. We've recently made a forum specially for stunting in GTA. Remember that registration is free and only takes a short time, so join now and get posting!

So maybe we should make it known to Rockstar that we are prepared to wait if the games gonna be better. And anyway Take 2 should set later deadlines, and they should be able to fully test and bugfix the game in time to meet it.

Well guys we've managed to get the domain, logo, site, backend, forums and skin sorted. Bearing in mind there will be tweaks, adjustments and maybe even total overhauls in the coming days, I present to you v1 of Codename Gaming. We're pretty much sorted for the backend, now we need content staff and forum moderators to help build up the site. Thanks to the team thats helped so far.
-
Yea thanks Chris, you got it all sorted perfect. Love ya. So yea we've got the coding sorted, and the main part of the logo has also been decided. My sig and avatar currently contain the new TTPN logo, which we've edited a bit for this project. We've got a few possible domains and site names, which are up for discussion on the board. Two of the people we've got involved so far are chris (as above) and Jordan (PlanetGTA) sideways. The layout and domain are the next steps, so anybody with a chunk of unused talent please come forth.
-
TTPN is always in the process of expansion. Our next big project is a dedicated gaming site. This will contain all the news, reviews and content that you would expect from UGO or Gamespy, although starting on a significantly smaller scale. We need people to help with designing the name, logo, site, structure and backend of the new site. This is a lengthy process, but if implemented well by talented people will prove very worthwhile. Of course this project is not sourced with masses of funding, so don't expect to be given £50 for picking a nice font. So yea if anybody's interested in joining the team drop me a line.
