No, not so bad. New hard drives should come w/ software & used ones have it at the makers' website. Would recomend 2 things to save alot of trouble. 1 - Wipe & reload, best way to get rid of any nasties left over from the previous owner. The last used box I got turned out to be the house usage box for lan parties & unprotected surfing. A bit of code buried in the OS kept sending it to really bad porn sites (REALLY bad). It's like if you dated a hooker (but I know you wouldn't because you have standards but if you did), you tell her " your cute & all but we're going to the car wash first. 2 - Get a 40 -80 gig drive & install it as a boot drive (C:), w/ your operating system. Use the 160 gig as the data (D:) to install your backups, games & MP3s/video files etc.. Enjoy, I'll catch up one of these days. EDIT : Right now I'm running XP Pro w/ service pack 2 (appears to finally be fixed) & AVG Free, from AVG site.

I like the helmet & leather thing, & for realism traffic laws were mentioned (in this topic?), no helmet = 1 *. The helmet could be done w/ animation sequence like this - Player hits button to get in/on & Niko picks up helmet from bike (randomly available) & puts it on. When he gets off he automatically puts it on the seat & walks away. They already use distinctive animation sequences for vehicles in GTA 3-SA, LCS & VCS so R* guys could probably do the helmet in there sleep. Alternately, they could use a pop up menu, like the one rumored for the trunk/boot of cars to equip the helmet.

You look like you have a conflict. STEP 1 - BACKUP ANY FILE YOU PLAN TO EDIT!!! Did you remove or rename the original piece from your .IMG file? Did you rebuild your archive when you were done? The new model should have a .DFF (the 3D model) & a .TXD (the texture maps used by the model). Renaming is a simple matter of adding "old", "OEM" or the like to the name. Make sure the mew DFF & TXD have the original name, if the game calls the model & can't find it, you get the results you described. I've also noticed the same effect from tampering w/ the file SHOPPING.DAT in your DATA folder. I've seen in come of the .IMG tools reference to not using the "Find & Replace" option, instead advising to manually find, delete or rename (I usually export to desktop & delete) and replace w/ the new model. These are usually easy to sort, you just need to find the problem. Good Luck.

Dazza - On the Hummers, is it just a right hand conversion or are they doing other work to. Presume this is because of Australian laws. MrLlamaLlama - Close. I think GM bought Deawoo a while back. They also own Isuzu & have contracted Suzuki to build cars for them, like the GEO line they sold here in the '80s & '90s. These were phased into the Chevy lineup around '96. More later, gotta run. MrLlamaLlama - TAG you're it!

MrLlamaLlama - If we ever need someone to set land mines, you're it! Arguments are okay sometimes, to a point (let off stress & clear issues) but then people get caught up in the right/wrong issue & then ...problems. I've heard them referred to as a pressure valve. Also, meant what I said positively. Enjoy being 16 while it lasts, it's supposed to be one of the best times of your life.

In Europe you'll see Vauxhual & Opel, & GM (the parent company of Chevy) also owns Saab. In Austrailia they have Holden, but I think that's just a Chevy w/ a free kangaroo. It also helps to get the point of view from the other end of this, make it easier to avoid hurt feelings. The age thing, depends on your age. MrLlamaLlama should be fine as she's within a couple of years of you. If she were 9, that would be different. Just save the grown-up stuff (& all the headaches that go with it)for when you're older & enjoy being kids. When you're older & get some life experience it becomes a matter of who makes you happy. v0helios - you said you got the downgrader working. I know of people who have had problems with it & would appreciate knowing how you got that sorted. As for your problem - STEP 1 - BACK UP ANY FILE YOU PLAN TO EDIT!!! 1 - HANDLING.CFG & VEHICLES.IDE (both in your DATA folder) list animations for the vehicles in the game. You said you replaced the Sparrow instead of the Hunter the UFO was intended to replace, this almost sounds like a problem there but that's just a guess. You didn't say anything about the game locking up or crashing so I doubt it's a conflict from the UFO model being used for a vehicle other than the one intended (the Hunter has weapons, the Sparrow doesn't). 2 - An alternate solution is if you got the downgrader working is a simple script edit to place your vehicle in a convenient location. I can't get the hunter to show up early in the game, but I think I can get a Sea Sparrow to. SA Mission Builder 3.3 Is a good tool to do this. Thank you Gerard, your view is very enlightened for some one not from the US. And I appreciate your support. I know the UK has extremely strict laws pertaining to the ownership of weapons. And we could probably clog the servers discussing the aspects of gun problems in the US (Please, don't do that). The fact is that as a whole (people in general), we may act civilized but are not. If someone decided they want to hurt someone else, they're going to do it. A gun only makes it convenient. For what it's worth, the average American gun owner is very responsible & not prone to going off on a rampage. We don't spend a month's pay on an AR-15 & use it for drive-bys. Most weapons used in crimes are stolen. I'll stop there as this going a little off the original topic. Depending on how this goes, I may start another at a later date. PS - Gerard, I presume you are in the military. You've probably posted on that if you are but it's a big site.

Considering that it's been about 5 years since GTA 3 (in the GTA timeline & the real world) I would expect references on Chatterbox & other radio stations to the ban being lifted (maybe because of gas prices), either way, the bikes are supposed to be there. If they are going after realism, my best friend in the game will probably be a Sanchez or Manchez. I'd feel nicked if they weren't.

It's part of who we are, our 2nd amendment rights. Doesn't mean we're bad or just start blasting away without reason. In the Midwestern US, we do hunt for game, Thanksgiving just isn't complete without some fresh deer, turkey or other game. And yeah, it's for protection. In my city (approx. 300,000 people) there was a problem with delivery people being robbed & assaulted. since then my state has adopted "shall issue" conceal carry permits, meaning the state has to issue permits to law abiding citizens unless they can show good cause. As for myself, my neighborhood is only a little better than Ganton in GTA SA. Most of the time it's not so bad, but from time to time wannabe gangsta's actually do drive-bys & other stupid crap.
