Chris
Yeah pretty old, but the question really is this: Who the hell wants to download off youtube? For videos, youtube has to be the single WORST quality video website I have ever seen. It honestly is really shit by today's standards. And other websites can do a better job with quality, to be honest I think google video itself is better, possibly Revver too. See the Firefox topic for links to decent extensions which download video of pretty much ANY website, rather than just those listed above
Huckleberry Pie
I already know how to download such videos there; simply grabbing them straight from the browser cache does it - for IE users this would be easy, finding the get_video file and fetching them is the thing... UnPlug works great for me too, not that i use it that often, a little few and far between, but works well when i do! haven't really tried many others, wasn't really the need. The Bossman
Also, I recommend this program: Video Download Helper 2.4.5 It's very simple to use, just choose where you want to save the file and it'll start downloading. The file will be in .flv format, just get a video converter program and convert it to whatever you want.
