It will have a hard drive, have a very fast processor called "The Cell," a joint effort by Sony, IBM, and Toshiba. It will most likely have an OS, but because Microsoft and Sony aren't buddies anymore, this machine will probably be running under Linux, reducing the cost. It will use new DVD technology called "Blu-Ray" which, on a dual-layer, holds 54 GB of information. Think about all the content in San Andreas' 7.5GB, then imagine the games you could create at 54GB. You really could have a GTA Universe.

On a side note, rumors are that nVidia ditched Microsoft and is making the PS3's Graphics chip now, and Microsoft in turn ditched Intel, and the Xbox's CPU might be the... Apple G5.

They have not released information saying every system will come with the hard drive.

nVidia has been working with Sony anyways, and I heard somewhere ATI was working with Microsoft. Stupid little bitches get the better card! :pissedred:

This info isn't "official", just prediction by the #1 PlayStation magazine, PSM.

-The top-design of the PS3 is similar to the PSP's rear "disk-spinning" design.

-The PS3's controllers will be wireless right out of the box.

-There will be no more disk tray/flip-top. The PS3 will have a quiet slot-loading Blu-Ray drive that's hidden in a glowing strip that illuminates when the system's power in on. The glow also changes color each month, just like the PSP's XMB.

-There will be "1-2-3-4" light indicators to the left of the system which will ligh-up indicating which "wireless" controllers are active.

-Just like the later PS2s and the new slim PS2, the PS3 will include a built-in infared DVD remote sensor when watching your favorite DVD movies.

-The PS3 will also include two DualShock and DualShock 2 contoller ports for backwards-capatibilty.

-The PS3 also has two memory card slot for both the PS2 8MB and the PS3 32MB memory cards.

-The PS3 includes two 2.0 USB ports and one "massive storage" memory stick slot.

-The PS3 will take the same A/V and AC cords as the PS2.

- Like said before, the PS3 will be network-ready right out of the box. (Both phone and broadband line ports.)

-Finally, the PS3 will also be capatible with the all-new HDMI, which combines both a high-definition connection combining HD video signal and audio in a single cable.

Remember, this infromation is made from 100% predictions.

The PS3 is going to be legendary, especially if all what you just posted is true.

I personally believe Sony will ALWAYS make them with the same parts and accesories. It's just simpler and more efficient that way.

And BTW, DualShock and DS2 have the same port. And the Slim PS2 doesn't have the same power cord, it has an adapter.

-The PS3 includes two 2.0 USB ports and one "massive storage" memory stick slot.

What? ATi sucks ass.

@mvi-Yes, it will replace standard DVD, and it is in a war for replacment. It could either be the new format, or HD-DVD could take it over. HD-DVD is more backward-compatible, but Blu-Ray stores more stuff. Anyway, why wouldn't the PS3 have a hard drive? Also, how do you know the PS3's memory card will have 32MB of space? A bunch of the stuff the OG said, we could have all infered.
