Huckleberry Pie
OK, so my homie needs some advice regarding her sister; when she was five, her older sister left the house and she haven't seen or heard about her in years, and she's worrying that she might have passed away. She's sad since her birthday's coming up, and still her sister's not yet home. Any advice on this?
azn
In the Philippines? She might have found some people to take care of her but she left at a very young age so she was probably exposed to a lot of things..

No, she's living in the US; I chatted with her at YM telling me about her situation. Her sister's turning 22 but still she haven't seen a trace of her... azn
mm. I can't really say much. You'd probably need to take matters into your own hands to find her then.

Yeah, for sure; she's kinda' like in a bad mood today... Maybe if I ask her to go here and talk about it...
MrLlamaLlama
Why did she leave? It may well have been to find a lost mother / father (if they split), stuff like that can be pretty moving, ask her if she ever heard her say anything about wanting to move to another state, country etc? All the best anyway.
Sherman
So said girl is in America? Maybe go to the courthouse and ask to look in public records (Like the books with deaths in them, etc. I don't know technical terms) As far as finding someone alive with no information, wow. Extremely hard. I suppose you could start off with networking sites (Myspace, facebook etc.) and work your way through.
Urbanoutlaw
If she could get ahold of the older sister's Social Security Number, she could try searching that & see if any utility bills come up in her name. Start w/ someone who does background checks.

JustADummy
As sSky said, try to go to the local authorities (Police, ect), and ask for it.

Jay_Jay
i would search on the internet for her. and if she has any info about her sister (social security number, parent names, etc.) then it would be alot easier, but if she has no info then it will take longer and it may even be impossible. Huckleberry Pie
Update: She saw her sister once, but she then went away, to my homie's disappointment...
NickDW
Update: She saw her sister once, but she then went away, to my homie's disappointment... If she stayed in the city / town or even in the state that your friend currently lives then i suggest she contact the local Sheriff's Ofiice or Police Department first. If she is worried about her well being then go to the local library and start checking obituaries (she may be able to do this online through some newspapers). That's where I would start.
