Yeah, so if for example you want to be emailed GTA IV news when we post it, go to the GTA IV News forum: http://www.thegtaplace.com/forums/index.php?showforum=57 On the right hand side underneath the New Topic button, you'll see another button, "Forum Options". Click on that, and at the bottom click on "Subscribe to this forum"

Multi Theft Auto San Andreas Help Thread
Chris replied to GTA Don's topic in Multiplayer (III, VC, SA)
Are you volunteering yourself to help keep this topic maintained, at least until some other members join in and help answer everyone's problems? If so, I'll pin it if it starts getting posts. -
Recently I've been considering having a multiplayer forum in the GTA forums section. The reason for this is mainly GTA IV. Multiplayer is going to be immensely popular it definitely deserves it's own forum, and one option was simply to make it inside the GTA IV forum - but then I thought what's the point of this? Then...we should really have one in SA/VC/3 for MTA and SAMP/VCMP etc... A better idea was to create a forum dedicated to ALL the multiplayer games, so that's what I've done. Inside are two subforums. One made especially for GTA IV, and the other for third party mods (this includes MTA, SAMP, VCMP, and all other unofficial mods for GTA2 through San Andreas). This is now where all multiplayer discussion will go. The idea of the forums is so you can: Create/recruit to gangs/clans Organise matches with each other Share stories and post screenshots etc. Ask for help/support (mainly for 3rd party mods) Share your gamertags/PSN IDs (GTA IV only) - there will be two dedicated topics for this As you may have noticed, we've moved a lot of old mp related topics into the forum already, but not all. Pretty much all MTA3, MTAVC and VCMP topics have been moved into it, but because the San Andreas forums are so large it's going to take a while to move every MTASA/SAMP topic there, so bear with us while they're all moved over. Hopefully this will help centralise all MP discussions, so they're all in one easy to find place. Before, we had people posting multiplayer topics all over the place. If you have any questions, just ask here. NOTE: At the moment the GTA IV forum is closed for posting, but I'm going to open it later today so you can all start recruiting for gangs and sharing your gamertags/PSN and such.

Good God, Rickrolling has spread to GTA forums? It would be wise to discontinue posting these links. It's April Fools though, so I'll let you all off for today

1UP's Crispin Boyer was recently invited to visit Rockstar North's offices in Edinburgh, Scotland for an interview with Sam Houser. He's written a short but interesting article about his adventure (which includes the theft of some water!), and since Rockstar wouldn't let him take any photos from inside their studios, has filled the article with photos he took in Edinburgh. There's no new info about GTA IV, but it's a fairly humorous article which you should definitely check it out if you have a few minutes. Link: Grand Theft Auto IV Travelogue

IGN have posted the second part of their massive interview, this one is 9 pages long and they continue their talk with Dan Houser and Aaron Garbut, discussing how Rockstar is upping the ante with its latest open-world action game. In addition to the article are 5 brand new screenshots, follow the links below to see them. Links: GTA IV: Pushing the Limits, and 5 new screenshots And for those who missed it: Part 1 of the interview, Building a Brave New World

MCV have today revealed that the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has given GTA IV the 18 rating, similar to almost all the other GTA games. The title is now cleared for release on April 29th in the UK. Related: BBFC.org.uk

Although I always liked the GTA HUDs, I much prefer minimal ones, like the one GTA IV has, I think it's a great improvement myself.
-
70% of the fourth trailer was in-game footage, there was just no HUD visible and the cameras were being controller by R*. But of course, these are in-game, you don't see HUDs in cut-scenes in any game.
-
The GTA IV HUD has been revealed in two photos appearing in the latest issue of the Australian edition of ZOO magazine. The photos below show it to be pretty minimal, only the radar seems to show permanently - we imagine wanted stars will only appear when you've actually got some, and weapons will only display when they're being changed. The two semi-circles around the radar are for health and armour. Click the thumbnails below for the full size images. Thanks to Amunication for posting these.

Interesting. I read the forum thread where that guy posted them, he completely avoided answering where he got them from... so yeah, still not confirmed to be true, the guy could have made them all up. Granted, they do actually look fairly legit... Never mind... just looked through it and the One Man Army achievement isn't on there, and that's the only confirmed one at the moment. I think this has got to be fake.
-
You should all post in real topics, ones about GTA as well, not just random stuff.
-
Interesting, I'll hold off from posting this until we get some truths known.

Three new pieces of GTA IV artwork have been uploaded at GameWallpapers.com. High quality versions are unfortunately only available to registered users (paid membership).

LOL, sort of like how I've been buying T-shirts and hats and never wearing them...I'm not much of a hat guy...Would if someone offered $2,000 for all of your stuff??? Ha, well I don't think R* would think too highly of me if I sold all my stuff on for massive profits It's an attractive offer, but no, I wouldn't like to do that. And besides, if someone offered 2 grand for all my stuff there's probably something wrong with them... it's not like it's signed by all of R* or anything -
I've fixed this glitch. Thanks.

K-Meleon? Wow I didn't think anyone here would use that. I'll try it myself and see if it's just a bug with that browser. BTW, there shouldn't be any problems with IE or Firefox or any other browser really, but if not either of them I'd recommend Opera, it's easily the best browser after Firefox. EDIT: never mind, seems something is wrong, weird. I'll look into it.

Well yeah they send stuff to gaming journalists too but often they get different items to us, or just stuff you can buy from the warehouse.

No I won't ever sell it. I've thought about giving it away in competitions on the site (like a few other sites have done recently) but I actually quite like having all the swag. Even though I never really use/wear any of it -
Those are ones we (the fansite webmasters) got in the recent hidden packages, I wonder who the hell he is, he claims it's all he got in the package. I'm sure Original GTA Master will be interested in buying this though!

IGN are churning out the GTA articles this weekend, they've now compiled a decent history of GTA article - if you haven't read one of these before then I'd definitely recommend you doing so. It gives a nice overview of how the GTA games came about, and travels through right up to GTA IV. Of course there's no new information in there, but it's still an interesting read. So if you're feeling nostalgic, give it a read. Also, today marks the one year anniversary of the first GTA IV trailer release, can you believe all that time has passed?
