I see a lot of talk about relationships here, I think one of you should maybe make a topic here just for talking about relationship troubles and such. This one can just be kept for sexuality discussion.

@Original GTA Master: Stop claiming differences between the words jail and prison. As I said in the other topic you were making ludicrous claims in: No. "Jail" is a synonym for "Prison". High security prison and High security jail are the exact same thing. Go and look up the definitions before you start making preposterous claims about there being a difference between the two words because there isn't one. And then you can either call it "Overnight Jail" or "Overnight Prison", there is no separate word to distinguish between an overnight and a normal cell. In fact here's a link to dictionary.com for the definition of jail, which it says is, a prison: see?

This is just a reminder to the community that if you see a spam post, or a post which you think is in any way offensive (racist, flaming for no reason etc.) please click the button in the bottom left of the persons post so we can deal with it quicker. All you have to do is write a brief description of why its offensive. We've had this feature ever since IPB2 was installed, and that was a long time ago, but still, it isn't used much, and I'd just like to encourage everyone to use it when they see an offensive post. Use the report button and if it is blatant spam (viagra, dating and other drugs etc.) then DON'T reply, by doing so you'll be keeping the topic at the top of the forum for everyone to see!

I still reckon Sony will give PS3 users some exclusive content. At least they should do if they want to stand any chance of competing against M$. Sony are becoming much slower than their competitors now when it comes to getting stuff done.

I have to say Alan Wake is looking more and more awesome with every new screen and video we get. First of all you can see the amazing physics engine with dynamic and volumetric lighting and weather, including a tornado ripping apart the place - Alan Wake at IDF 06 Secondly, there are 10 brand new absolutely huge incredibly high resolution shots of the game - 10 New Screens The game is just looking incredible isn't it? I'm going to convert the 17MB .flv file to something smaller and upload it to YouTube. It takes so long to stream that. By the way the tornado happens at around 3:44, just watch the whole thing anyway, it's immense.

After posting news of the latest Alan Wake footage we've seen, I wondered if we might see GTA IV with a similar physics engine and featuring dynamic weather. Check out the latest news on Alan Wake at our fansite, AlanWake.co.uk, and watch the video of it being demoed at IDF 2006. (footage starts around 1:25) You see the tornado ripping up all that carnage... that's what I'm talking about. What are your thoughts on having this in the next GTA game? Do you think it would be good if Rockstar put something similar in, earthquakes perhaps? Not stuff that happens all the time, but once in an in-game year or something maybe... Also check out the amazing graphical and water effects, the game looks amazing.

Microsoft have published a press release about the X06 event currently taking place in Barcelona, Spain. In it they talked about episodic content available on Xbox Live for various games, including Grand Theft Auto IV. Interestingly, the GTA IV episodes seem to be Xbox 360 exclusive. Sony have not yet released any details as to whether we'll be able to download content via PlayStation 3's download service, but even if they do, it seems it won't be the same as what will be on offer at Xbox Live. Eurogamer have published an interview they had with Rockstar Leeds president Gordon Hall. The interview mainly focuses on the improvements that have been made over Liberty City Stories, and how the team have managed to compress so much data. Hall also reiterates the fact that there are currently no plans to bring Vice City Stories to PlayStation 2. As well as this interview, Eurogamer also posted an article on the possibilty of San Andreas Stories. The article basically pulls some quotes from the aforementioned interview and puts them into perspective. Again they emphasise Rockstar Leeds' semmingly unprecedented skill at compressing data, and the advances in technology making it possible. What do you think about the possibility of San Andreas Stories on the PSP? Bear in mind the game will likely be cut down from San Andreas anyway, but with these compression capabilities, maybe it might not be so cut down as we think? Discuss in our forums.

Plus the fact the I reckon the majority of hardcore GTA fans like ourselves who are members of forums are already signed up for the Rockstar and/or GTA mailing lists. All the webmasters are anyway so we know as soon as we get the email. We used to know hours before anyone else because Richard used to email us to let us know when they would update. Pity he's not there anymore. If you really want a "nice find" credit, then you can do so one in one of two ways. 1) Look around hundreds of gaming sites when they post GTA reviews/previews to see if they have any new screens. 2) Subscribe to a gaming magazine so you receive a copy weeks before anyone else, then post scans of the mag here for everyone else if there's GTA related stuff.

News on the GTA front is rather scarce at the moment, so it seems a good time for Rockstar to announce another new game of theirs, L.A. Noire, a crime thriller set in 1940's Los Angeles. While it's not GTA, the game has a vaguely similar premise. We've just launched a mini site stemming from The GTA Place, and should the game live up to its full potential, we'll be developing it into a fully fledged fan site, for now though, it's just a splash page, but be sure to bookmark it for further news updates on the game... Nice idea, but two things: 1. We don't know if VCS's multiplayer features will be properly online or not yet. 2. If they aren't, it's too late for a petition since they'll be getting ready to ship out the game in a few weeks time. EDIT: Lol I see it's been slightly abused, did you post at GTAPortable by any chance? (The anti-Neil Christie comments is why I thought this)

I don't understand, you make it sound as if you have some sort of inside knowledge. Plus the fact we haven't upgraded anyway.... With vBulletin there are no problems with upgrading beta's and RC's, and there didn't used to be any with IPB. They're just getting lazy with beta releases now and not making upgrade files. Anyway what Gerard said is the reason why I haven't yet upgraded, because we can't upgrade to or from the beta version, which is a shame.

No, the ONLY country it's legal in is Holland. Mind you, everything is legal over there, it's hard to do something wrong Obviously it doesn't mean everyone does it, it just means that if someone is 'caught' in the act it's not a punishable offence.
