I wouldn't say the graphics were poor. Sure, the graphics aren't as good as some games but GTA has never really been about amazing graphics, its always been about gameplay.

Yeah I'm really glad they implemented the swimming element into the game, although I constantly die in VC and GTA3 by thinking I can swim . The countryside is also a great area, especially when going cross-country on a sanchez

Yeah I agree with you 100% there Frank. I hated Zero's missions and it was especially annoying because CJ could have gone and killed him easily
