  1. Nothing. Really nothing at all for gamers. Just NO hardcore Nintendo game. They better have a better line up for 2009 or I'll really give up on Nintendo and won't buy their new console. No matter how great their line-up for it's release year seems to be. Boy do I hate these casual gamers.. killing my Nintendo Oh, BTW, Miyamoto was very surprised by the negative replies he read on forums and news sites. He said he thought it looked like a great line-up and was disappointed that all the gamers seem to hate it and said that they haven't forgotten them and will come up with something for them too. Now that better be a new Zelda with graphics like Galaxy or Brawl.

@Claude: I might be mistaken, but of what I've heard the European 360's miss some protective pads of sorts to make sure the discs don't get scrathed. Don't ask me how those pads would work, I don't know. And it's strange people are still having problems. All elite's have got the new mobo and a CPU which had a die-shrink. That's why it doesn't have problems. MS would put those new mobo's and CPU's in the other consoles too after some time. Looks like they haven't done it yet.. Or Mishom got one from old stock.
  3. X-fi XtremeAudio isn't an X-Fi It uses an older chip. Actually it's absolute bullshit that they call it an X-fi, cause it simply isn't. How long do you have this card? Do you have it under 64bit Vista? (so you're actually using full 4GB) I've got 4GB under 32bit, so that isn't giving a problem. But under 64bit with 4GB I've understood that they just don't work for some weird reason or the other and as far as I know that hasn't been fixed yet. Might have though, not sure. Edit: And that's a very nice monitor BTW. Expensive, but then it does function as a TV as well. And about the reso's. I didn't really like the fact that I couldn't select a higher than native reso. Not sure if that's even good for the picture quality though.. Edit 2: And those headphones look awesome too. 5.1 with headphones is gorgeous.
  4. I got beta 2 a few days ago. It looks like MS is heading the right direction and I sure do like it. Just a few problems with plug-ins (which isn't anything else but normal and to be expected). Didn't have any errors. Just don't think it has to notify me every single time I start it about my plug-ins not working and that it can't find any updates for it. Fuck you, I know that by now. For now I'll stick to IE7 (over FF3, which I'm running now too BTW. Posting on IE7 though). And yeah, that means I uninstalled IE8. Just wanted to try out the beta.
  5. I would hate a projector. I would hate 145". 45" is max for a TV if you ask me (for in my room). Lol I've got a 22" and it isn't as big as you'd think it is. Well, it's pleasant, but if you're willing to pay the price, I'd get a 24" instead. Also depends on what you're used to of course. But it just isn't as big as most people think it is.
  6. Oh, yeah. I'd fuck her anyday.

But talking to her... see's sort of changed a lot (for the worse).

Well, uh.. I'll see. Maybe 'we' can attact some people with that party.

  7. If Far Cry2 wasn't coming at the same time (European release) I would buy GTA IV at it's release. In a way you can see it as competition. I don't think there are many people who will buy a game and buy another the very next day. I'll get Far Cry 2 first and when I've finished that, I'll get GTA IV. But GTA has quite a solid fanbase. Everyone who likes the game will eventually pick it up (most will..). And playing any game with a trackball is hell. I tried it once, words can't explain how much that sucked. PC Gamers (like Llama) see consoles as a bad thing. You'll have a better experience on a PC. More power --> better graphics (textures, polygons, shaders ect.) + higher resolution. Consoles could play GTA with a very small FPS margin and that's with it's low res textures and stuff. So yeah, you could see it as proper. Also could just see it as better (as being the superior version of the game (which it is)). And about the controller.. I do not own a 360 and neither do I own a PS3 (though if I were to buy a console tomorrow, it would be the PS3. Just for the Blu-Ray drive. I wouldn't even get a game for it until LA Noire is released.) I play on both system and I can tell you that the 360 controller is quite bit more comfortable. Sony's solution just doesn't work right IMO.. those triggers don't feel right, at all. No good grip, not ergonomically shaped ect. I just can't see why people like it
  8. Do you have 4GB of mem, cause then it shouldn't be able to work, at all. 2GB is fine I think, but some things don't work under 64bit (turned off). And Creative's driver support isn't like AMD's and nVidia's. It's slow as hell...
  9. Your mobo isn't really the the key to being able to run GTA IV.... @Shortbus: Yeah, sure. Especially at that reso. It won't be a prob.
  10. It won't. But there's a topic about this here.
  11. Hey (:

Oh, yeah, BTW.. I'm going to New Delhi in December. No idea what we're actually going to do, but my uncle said he'll arrange someting and show me all these typical things you've got to see when you're there.

Just thought I'd say that too (:

  12. For 650 EUR (which is very cheap) you can actually get a pretty powerful computer these days. P45 mobo's are availible for just 100 EUR. Then get a HD4850 for 135 EUR and a E7200 for 95EUR and 4GB of mem at 800 MHz for just 80 EUR. There. All you need to add is a PSU and you've got a powerful computer for a budget price. That's just 500 EUR for all of that. And and a case if you want one.. Just tell me how much you're willing to spend and I'll see what the best is you can get for that money. If you've got 600 EUR (that'd be 650 USD effectively) availible to spend, this is about the best you can get and you can do some serious gaming on this too.
  13. Most important is the error code. And usually the text gives a fairly good indication of the problem. chkdsk /f, right? That's for if it stops while still booting Windows. Just some HDD prob then. Just said that for if anyone else googles something and comes to this thread.. you know.
  14. I didn't want widescreen at first, but all 22" were widescreen. Boy am I happy I got it. Love it. For your soundcard, barely any games actually support that X-RAM. Just UT3 and a handful of some other titles. I wouldn't take that card for it's X-RAM. I bought a X-fi XtremeMusic not all that long ago (didn't like the XtremeGamers halve PCB, although it actually is a bit more practical). It's a PCI card, not PCI-E. It has the same stuff like that fatality version, except it doesn't have X-RAM, which doesn't really make a difference these days. It used to, a few years ago, but not anymore. Anyway, I hate my X-Fi. Spent 70 EUR on it ( 105 USD) and the damn thing is hopeless. It was a pain getting it working in the first place and when it does it will stop working every so often. I'll sudenly get a very high pitched sound from my speakers and I'll have to change 'mode'. Changing mode will make all applications using sound at that moment to stop (the sound). So if you're gaming, you have to restart. Many times I'll have to even reinstall the drivers after switching mode, because they'll just mess up. Don't have that problem with the new drivers though, now the card will just stop fully, or only work in 2.1, which sucks. If you've got 64bit Vista, do not get it (yet). I know other vista users (32bit) with this card and it works for them, so my card might just be broke or I've got faulti PCI slots.. One thing is that I just can't get the card fully into the slot in the first place. Those pin like things still are a bit visible and the right side of it (the side facing front of your PC case). I'll attempt to get it working later in the day, again... I should add that when it does work, you've got some very good sound. Music sounds better, games sound a bit more 'full' and surround is much more accurate. Also, it upscales your music from mono/stereo to surround, which IMO it very nice. That's the main thing I'm actually missing now. The headset is great, I've heard. So that's a good buy I think. The speakers... I went for a G51, which is a great set, but though I can't say anything bad about it and I love it, I could have gone a bit cheaper. I've got a friend with the stereo version of the X530 and that one sounds quite good too (powerful bass BTW), and I was considering buying this one too. But after reading reviews and stuff, it seemed getting the X-540 would be a bit better buy. Just 10 EUR more (here. Don't know the US prices). But there isn't really a big difference. X-540 is a bit louder and has a bit better bass. But they fail in the looks department.. I like the style of the X-530. So, boils down to this: All looks good, but you might just want to go for the XtremeGamer or XtremeMusic instead, since that X-RAM is barely going to help at all. And 22" is a very good choice for a monitor. Personally I could have gone for 24" too (thought it was a bit too big when I was in a shop). But these 24" displays are much more expensive too.. So probably wouldn't have done that. Also bare in mind the maximum reso for these 16:9 displays (22") is 1680 x 1050. You won't be able to get these full HD reso's. Doesn't really make a difference though.. Thing is, I'd think 22" is a little small for TV and console games (unless you stay at your desk). I wanted to make my monitor a TV too, but decided to get a 40" LCD TV instead and hang it up on some wall in my room (I'll be buying it Q1 2009). But that's only for watching TV at a distance. If you're going to stay at your desk doing that would just be insane, though I'd in that case still go for 24". Really depends on how much money you're willing to pay. If you've got a limited budget and not planing to use your monitor you'd use an actualy TV, 22" will be enough. But I like the idea of watching TV from my bed before sleeping, so I'll need an actual TV for that. I watch movies on my 22" and I've got one of these gaming monitors and that isn't actually the best thing to take for things like movies. So just mind that when you're buying your monitor. But it looks all good though. Main concern would be that X-Fi.
  15. Oh, wait. I thought you meant you had a 5 GHz C2 I believe them doing it, of course. But 5 GHz 24/7 is going to kill your CPU.
  16. CS2. Works great IMO. Can CS3 actually do anything CS2 can't?
  17. I'm so happy that Mac OS X is finally getting attention from the hacking community. If I'm not mistaken, they're still busy with reverse-engineering it, and we'll see a shit load of viruses coming starting November. I'd like all these Mac users to finally STFU about their system not getting any viruses because it's so superior too Windows, cause it isn't. Nobody just gives a shit about OS X to make a virus for it. And 85% (or something like that) of Mac Users don't have any virus protection on their computer at all. Future looks bright (:
  18. morrow. Otherwise it will be in October.

But when the day comes, it sure will be loads of fun (I hope).

We're also planing just to throw some party in a forest. For a limited amount of people (say, 15). Each pays 10 EUR, so that gives us 150 to come up with something good.. Food and drinks will be no prob, but music in a forest will be tricky. But we'll bother with th

  19. Postponed, I'm afraid...

You see, two days before our trip (which was actually illegal), a couple that was wild-camping like us too, where beaten up in the night and robbed. So the parents of one of us got slightly afraid and didn't allow him to come with us. So that left us with three people. We tried getting a chick to come along, but we failed ):

    Maybe day after to

  20. Try Twillight Princess. It's going to take you at least 4 hourst until you get into that. It needs 8 for you to start loving it. But if you give it that time, you'll be rewarded by a fantastic game with heavily outdated visuals (: I'm busy with Team Fortress 2 lately. Love the game. To think of it, gonna play it now. Later.
  21. He probably can't understand the structure of sentences. Like when you're starting to learn latin and greek, it takes so time to actually really start understanding the structure of the sentences. It can be confusing.
  22. Ah, should have waited just 2 weeks more. Then we'd be able to say: OH NO! YOU BUMPED A ONE YEAR OLD THREAD!!!11! Instead I'll just notify you of the fact that it's 1 year minus a few. Anyway, looks pretty funny IMO. Could have done better on the text though.
  23. Uh, I've got a G15 and it's totally worth it. I use the screen a lot, but not for games actually.. But I love the keyboard. Perfect keys and I really wouldn't want to do without that backlight. Also, the backlight is done very neat. Very good buy IMO (got it for 70 EUR). Edit: Oh, that's the G15 V2 I'm talking about. G15 V1 looked rather ugly IMO... V2: About the 4850: Though it is indeed a card with a midrange price point, it has performance exceeding that of the 8800 GTX and even slightly over that of the Ultra (not in all games, due to the mem interface of the G80 based cards, but usually they are). Crysis max usage is 'just' 1300 mb. Vista pre-loads lots of stuff to make everything run a bit faster when you need it. Mem usage will show to be 3GB, but you're probably just using 2 GB if you subtract all that preloaded stuff. Warhead apparently uses 2100 though, so that's going to really be a memory hog. Glad I didn't go for 2 in the end...
  24. Sorry to tell you, but I highly doubt it will...
  25. Nvidia underestimated ATi. Even I would have never expected them to come with such a great GPU (R770). I'd actually say AMD struck gold with it. If I didn't have my GTX I would get a 4870(X2). Q2 has also been the first time in 5 years that Nvidia has had losses. I'd do SLI if my mobo could, but Intel chipsets (got X38) don't support it But you're right. Under normal circumstances AMD now is the best way to go. Or a GTX260, which now is priced pretty friendly too (for it's performance). Anyway, TWIMTBP has been very, very succesfull. But now Nvidia has sort of messed up. They should have gone to 55nm much earlier and not base their succes on AMD's failing. Expect them to have come with a new GPU like the G80 was when DX11 arrives. But I'd have to agree. If you're not planning to set a WR, you'd be better of with ATi now (unless you've got an nVidia board).
