  1. I forgot to mention MSI's Turbo Drive Engine Technology which increases performance upto and above 20%, would this affect how well GTA IV would run aswell? How is that a beast? For Windows Vista I recommend 4GB of RAM and an 8600 really isn't a good graphics card...in fact latops are horrible for gaming, honestly just get a desktop, you'll be much happier. Also that "Turbo Drive Engine Technology" just looks like they're overclocking your system a bit, it will improve performance a little but overclocking a laptop is bad. Just get a desktop. I'm about to get 4GB of RAM and a Phenom 9950, which will undoubtedly run GTAIV well.
  2. Sorry but a 7900 and 1.8GHz C2D is nowhere near a 'beast of a machine' Also your computer isn't that bad, you really shouldn't have problems.
  3. Good luck with your single-core processor, the game requires a multi-core to run.
  4. That laptop does not meet the minimum requirements as far as your processor goes and the video card isn't really for gaming either. Yes, but you should get a new video card anyway. Please keep future discussion about this subject to this topic.
  5. There is absolutely no way that a game of this quality of graphics will run on integrated graphics. If by medium-low you mean very high, then yes.
  6. No you need a dual core processor and at least a 7900.
  7. An 8800 will no doubt play the game with everything you have, Chris. Also, sucks for single-core users! Gotta upgrade mah RAM!
  8. If you're going to think like that then you honestly shouldn't let her play at all. The "bad morals" thing snowballs, is it any better for her to kill people at will and let her get away with it without cops reacting? The psychology is the same either way. Either way, there is an admin console for San Andreas which allows you to change almost every aspect of the game, I'm sure there's a way to freeze wanted level in there. For Vice City, I'm not sure. San Andreas has even more area for her to explore and such, but if you want to play Vice City you can try this, I think there's something in there to freeze wanted level. But honestly just let her play the game.
  9. Heh, maybe you should actually find out how much someone is smoking before throwing out numbers. Our packs((one pack....)) cost 5-6 dollars each((that's 20 cigarettes, a quarter a cigarette)).... And we probably spend about 6 dollars a WEEK on cigarettes. I assumed an average of a pack a day, a lot of people I know smoke about that much. The frequency is irrelevant, you're still killing yourself and increasing the chance of future health problems when you do it. Weed is another story, it's not as bad as the media makes it out to be, but it CAN be detrimental to your health. Not that I smoke weed.
  10. It feels like you're killing yourself for $5 a day. Enjoy your lung cancer and early death.
  11. What, how is that any better? You realize that Chinatown Wars will allow the sale of drugs and most other things in previous GTA games. There are some kids in Baltimore M.D who are 11 and younger who sell marijuana in ally ways. Anyway she wouldnt even get to the sell drugs part of the game come on. She would just do the driving around. Really? Ok, by your logic, if she's not going to "get into" certain parts of the game, she doesn't need a censored version in the first place now does she? You can't say she won't get into it, and if you were her parent, would you supervise her 24/7 or WHENEVER she was on her DS to make sure she didn't discover the activity. That's stupid. If she had access to the game she would find the drug trafficking. And because kids sell drugs in one of the worst cities in America, that justifies her playing a game in which you sell drugs? Not that I wouldn't let my child play the game anyway, but come on.
  12. What, how is that any better? You realize that Chinatown Wars will allow the sale of drugs and most other things in previous GTA games.
  13. Of course not, GTA IV doesn't have shitty graphics like its predecessors. (I'm not insulting or degrading GTA here, but honestly before GTA IV its graphics were pretty bad) You will have to have a nice computer to play this game, believe me. Rockstar said is runs beautifully on PC. They were referring to the PC as a platform and were likely talking about higher-end hardware. GTA IV's graphics are incredibly innovative. Never before has there been a true sandbox game with the same quality of graphics. Never. Pretty close, it's called a "power supply" in English. And I'd recommend a 500w or higher for that card. Check the card's requirements.
  14. Lol? If your child wants to play the game then don't censor it at all. Or supervise her while playing. Otherwise just have her play Dora the Explorer or something more "appropriate". Anyway, the only mod I know of that lowers violence is the no blood mod, but that will only remove blood and not weapons, etc... Seriously, all or nothing. Don't attempt to censor the game because it will make everyone unhappy. If your child is very young then perhaps you can find another game which allows flight but not killing.

    Tiny Mac?

Good luck, Final Cut Pro is thousands of dollars and incredibly complicated. OS X doesn't include Final Cut Pro.

    Tiny Mac?

There is no feasible (read: usable) OS X emulator for Windows. However, there are ways to install the operating system on non-Apple hardware. Google "Install OS X on a hackintosh" It's a bit complicated though and you could really mess your system up.
  17. Hyperthreading just makes your processor go a bit faster, but it's irrelevant. No, it won't work better with an nVidia card, that's just who makes your motherboard chipset but it won't affect your graphics card. I have an nforce chipset as well and my ATi 3870 works wonderfully. You realize that the GX2 sells for between $300-$500 and the 280 is between $350-$700 For the 4850, a card THAT much cheaper to be that high on the benchmark list, makes it an absolutely astounding card. You notice he said 5x...as in 5 San Andreas processes. I don't care what kind of graphics card you have, you're not running 5 instances of a game without taking a performance hit.

    Connect..

What exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to stream media to the Xbox using the Media Center Extender? If it's not detecting you have to enable it in Windows Media Player 11 and I'm pretty sure the Windows Firewall service has to be enabled.
  19. Hm, I'd bid on the license plate if it were being sold separately, I really like those. Nice collection.
  20. And I'm the Pope. Also the reason why the Xbox 360 sometimes does better than the PS3 is because even though they both have multi-core processors, not everything is programmed to take advantage of that. Especially not seven cores, which is ridiculously hard to code for. Also the 360 has double the PS3's RAM.
  21. It's not hard to Google "[console] specifications" The first console to have a processor with more than one physical core was the Xbox 360.
  22. Irrational fears. I can understand fear of insects or animals because of their potential to hurt you, but honestly phobias like that are ridiculous.
  23. An ATI 4850 is an excellent card which can be had for under $150, and it will undoubtedly play GTA IV. Just be sure your motherboard has a PCI-express x16 slot.
  24. Actually the Xbox 360's processor has three cores and the PS3's has seven. Therefore it is logical that the game would benefit extremely from having multiple cores, though I doubt it will be required.
