  1. Does this tell you something?.... In my locale, a metro location, there are more signs about GAY MARRIAGE amendment than political in true nature. I say, who the Hell cares when we need job creation...go marry your dog for all I care!! But on the World stage, that Dictator of Iran is again saying he will forge ahead with his plans to have a Nation on par with the USA, since he feels the Superpowers deem themselves the elite in all the World, as I see it, Based on his speech I saw the other night, it was like saying the USA says whatever it wants, expecting other Nations to comply, well, yeah, and you better comply, my friend! We are Free and we are a SuperPower! hahaha http://abcnews.go.co...ory?id=17328593 Keep the above link open for more related video segments, however, as I just saw the Presidential back and forth pre-election about World affair involvement... Inspires my comic response; "I'd just Bitch Slap them back to Hell if they get all uppity with their station in life" While it maybe naive, I used to joke about Bombing them back to the Stone Age, but they're already in the Stone age. If that's offensive, don't get all Politically Correct on me, since there is no Politically Correct, is there??
  2. I finally coughed up the original replacant on YouTube, and a facsimile there of...using hot Asian girls in short skirts to dance it on-set Anyway, it was shown as closer to CBS evening news one night a week or so ago, due to it's viral success... Having PSY himself on in an interview, he summed up the idea behind it as DRESS CLASSY, DANCE CHEESY There you go, but he forgets, make it CATCHY as well
  3. Well, to be honest, what's the summation you're looking for in asking a question that's pretty vague like that? In GTA IV all NPC are really as they were before, showing all walks of life while leaving children and animals out of the game. The big debate has been about equating the player with the protagonist as far as age, if that would correlate with any younger people as NPC, and no one directly knows, but I do know Sam Houser said to avoid controversy, there will be no CHILDREN in GTA, so you know, I reiterate what he has said, so people may take exception but he's one of the top commanders of ROCKSTAR operations, and not everything he has said has dictated a path for GTA or template, if you will, but for now, nothing REALLY suggests that's changing anytime soon, what we know will be likely present is more birds and animals like a dog clearly seen in the trailer You also see peds or NPC (non player characters ...meaning, you don't control them) that try and populate locations as well as articulate various tasks, as simple as carrying bags or briefcases, cigarettes, or drinks, that spill, as you know, or operating equipment as we've seen in the trailer, a man pounding a FOR SALE sign in front of his house. In a few second snippet, we assume it's much more advanced AI for this to take place, but in GTA IV,or RDR, we see a task a NPC can be articulating is pre-programmed actions that simulate an ongoing task, it could be a sign resides in that yard, the ped comes to pound it in (some more, to sturdy it) and walks away eventually, but these are simple pre-programmed actions I believe. Until we know or see the game in action, it's assumed based on what's been done with GTA since San An on Renderware, to RAGE and Euphoria evolving with GTA IV Episodes, and Red Dead Redemption, which I use as an example over Max Payne 3 because of having spent hours playing those games in particular
  4. The problem with my normal GTA forum (generic use!) activity is on that OTHER GTA forum, activity by posters happens whether Rockstar issue info or not, so no matter who you are, posting elsewhere, you simply can't stay active at my former (GTAForums) level, which means you spend an hour or more at a forum in a given day, so perhaps taking a poll as to hours spent on a forum, or similar site like Facebook or Twitter would help figure out time spent in that capacity. BTW, shout out to JimmyT's GTAZone, although he was at GTAF back in winter 2010 and came under fire right away for suspect behavior, I wish to say, I advised him plenty when he contacted me, and I wind up banned from GTAF as well, so it goes to show, you never know what AMOUNT of EFFORT is required by those guys to stay in check, but reports can be made maliciously against you, unfairly made against you, and staff have to field them no matter what, so like a Denial of Service attack on a web server, they just opt to send the 'odd man out' just to stem the tide of complaints. That's my honest opinion on the fairness of how it's been handled. The upshot of GTAZone is it's Jimmy's current attempt to make a successful go of a GTA fan site based on our site as inspiration (GTAChronicles) so again, anyone dedicated enough to stick it out for each successive GTA franchise game, or any Rockstar fare, to be honest, as they grow and mature WITH the games, I think they can make amends and prove their mettle and wherewithall, only time tells all
  5. I couldn't wait, I got my old PS2 with HDD adapter out of storage, and the other day I bought a DS2 from the Goodwill, time to test all that hardware, with San Andreas classic!! I have the PC versions already, but my main concern on the PSN version is over licensing, what was the contested licensing and was it overcome so there was no alteration made? That is what I would mostly like to hear. It goes to the argument that PS2 is the best way to go, if you can. Since there's no embellishment for these. Good comment about PS3 connection via HDMI, but as my good friend PCguytech_2005 informed me over a year ago, Monster Cable offered HD resolution cables for the PS2, he says it's already producing an HD level game quality wise, at least the low end spectrum, it's seriously doubtful there's any PSN version advantage, but small text is the thing to observe, with GTA IV it's really the most difficult on older TVs, as has been my experience!
  6. As you know, one friggin' guys inflammatory film, not even made in entire truth, is parading for all the Foreign Muslim Countries as an indictment against them, and now a hotly contested issue of free speech, where should this line be on what's acceptable, and what is not? Aside from that, we have the less then Smartest of the Smart running for election and commenting on it as so-called experts. As an American who grew up with hardly any interest in politics, I did get out and vote a few times, not on a regular basis, but I don't know what to think when most of the news on the election, the President, the candidates, the parties, and Congress are all so black and white, you would think there is no such thing as gray!! That it takes more then one person to institute change, that the blame game has gone on long enough Now Donald Trump is a business man, fooling few into thinking he might run for President, but here he is, yet again sounding off on Obama. Someone who believes in gray would see that Obama did some good, some good at all?!? Comment further... http://www.cbsnews.c...ectionContent.4
  7. I doubt everyone can expect Ned Luke or his likeness character to be the main protagonist. I remain open to the idea of playing more then one character in one game, but that might not be the only surprise for GTA V fans and players, we just don't know any more at this point. I'd expect something within the month from Rockstar....truly! As for parachutes, I've little doubt they're included, as planes are, we know that! Any characters or action scenes...or even the hikers for example in the trailer, could be just ancillary scenes that don't involve player interaction, whether generated by AI or part of an orchestrated cutscenes, Rockstar normally try and blend those for a more cinematic experience, if you relied on cutscene material, it would lack the wider feel showcasing the outdoor size of the map, by and large
  8. One of the problems we ardent fans share, is we associate GTA V vaperware with what we have played and GTA as a franchise so far, so expecting some curve ball from the next GTA is kinda hard, as to how it will look and play, but things you can nearly bank on is how the next GTA will be similar to or even the same to prior GTA, mainly GTA IV, but also look like places we've already been in San Andreas. My feeling is still that GTA San An on Renderware will be a separate game and location from this next GTA, as Liberty City was from GTA III, that they will be making the improved location based on the same principle behind making LC more like the New York they know and love, it will have that tip of the hat to true California locale. Getting away from the Graphics and Arts with that post ^ But the idea is how the art evolves within Rockstar as well, based on any additions they had to do to staff there, I suspect with many artists, it's a simple challenge just for uniformity! As News-Wire shows, some artists not working AT Rockstar submitted their own game character portraits and I was surprised to see that shout-out on their site, but it's also encouraging, as I'm sure the Mod community want Rockstar to take a notice of their hard work as well, Kudos to all who put the time and work in, a labor of love!
  9. I've mentioned the editing issue a coupla times, because I don't want to incur any wrath for a perceived Double Post, it's not like I'm trying to be as poor a poster as I was starting out over at GTAF, they harped all over the place about things like that, and it became one of those RECORDS they hold against you so they can ban you later...bogus!! Anyway, I've been playing the game, and it's one of my favorites because of the added color, simple things like that change the mood over that same GTA IV engine and map, which is nice.... The DLC I'd been discussing could play into a larger GTA this time around that allows for a similar complete package all at once, if they're going that route with the game. Just seems that it won't be out by anyone's earlier predictions, that it won't just release without more build up promotion, but that would be something, certainly a surprise, and unexpected coming from Rock* I have to say, your title made me think Tony Montana and Scarface
  10. Only way it can fail is if they drop this promotional ball completely, and boy, have they fumbled it so far! You can't hope for promotion solely by word of mouth from the fan based community...but then again, perhaps they can!!??
  11. I just got into the thread with EDIT, and then permission was retracted, DAMMIT! Oh well, if you're wondering why I must now Double Post, that is it I checked again before winding up the evening online and it seems to be working, so, sleep easy, gents
  12. Oddly, there's a film called Chapter 24 about Mark David Chapman, hours leading up to him shooting John Lennon in 1980, Jared Leto plays the role, Lindsey Lohan co stars as a normal person he meets! ODD THAT Anywho, maybe I'm off with the title, but it's gotta be close. After that I watched Six Degrees of Separation with Donald Sutherland and Will Smith starring. He plays a deceptive gay black man looking for a place to shack up with male lovers, now after watching it, I see why he got a kiss from an excited male fan during a press junket not long ago, he probably thought Will was bisexual perhaps?? hahaha Anyway, I didn't get to complete the viewing due to a schedule change, but hope to get back to it. In the film he has hoodwinked the people who's homes he wishes to reside at, temporarily, and he has to proceed to become a false identity in order to do so. At one moment in the film, he impresses his hosts with recalling a book he was seemingly enamored by, The Catcher in the Rye which, oddly, is the same book that Mark D. Chapman obsesses over. I also think they aired that film due to Chapman being up for parole recently...and denied again http://gothamist.com/2012/08/29/mark_david_chapman.php
  13. I'm voting for James, and so far, one vote only for Mr. TERMINATOR?!? Alright, you're Terminated, f**ker!! Cameron's ground breaking film led to more groundbreaking with T2, which ushered in some advancement in digital film wizardry, and Titanic shows his adept homework in the work, going far beyond most directors with his REAL research into the actual ship and it's history Aside from that, Avatar was also a technical marvel in many ways, but I take you back to Abyss for the kind of underwater filming that helped make all these possible For Spielberg, I think the STORY is the thing, I was just watching him talk about film in interviews on YouTube, he feels he has no STYLE to imprint on film-making, but I would tend to disagree, albeit, marginally so I grew up watching his films as well, and they're both A-list directors, no question Don't forget TRUE LIES, love that film as well!!
  14. It's actually been surprising how long the older tech remains useful, the oddest thing about Legacy hardware existing today has been the persistant old school SERIAL ports still on many a motherboard, and Parallel, though offered in a Bi-Directional data state, just left unused by most people, space on a mobo is somewhat critical nowadays, but perhaps it was just not a space concern for those many years...who knows? I do think it's impressive if 775 socket was actually out in 2004, and covered so many CPU options! Core2 won't work in all of them, just as socket 478 the second socket Intel devised for Pentium 4, won't support Hyperthreading, which came out in Jan of 2005, basically Dual Core tech was in place by year's end.... Dec 2005, as you know, the PS3 and Xbox360 were cutting edge HD gaming consoles! haha
  15. My mom and dad, not the most tech savvy bunch, still using XP on a Dimension 4700 Dell. It's funny that since I got a Dimension 2400 someone was tossing out, I can grab the same board and throw it in the 2400 case, which follows a NON Proprietary design. Anywho, most of those older Dells came with XP support discs, and you never have to limit an install with those in hand, but now with Vista, 7, and Windows 8, you will have to be judicious about what HDD on what hardware gets what OS, and it stays that way for the life of the system, you would have the option to migrate to a bigger drive, presumably to Solid State, 2 or 3 Terabytes, I imagine, but it won't be as easy as XP or Win 9x in the past
  16. If you'll be doing some PC rig upgrading, looking for what works on a mobo you have or not, perhaps some of what I'm doing can help you, in posting my findings....yet again, I hope that can be the case I'm looking to buy one or more Core2Duo processors in the not too distant future, and perhaps Core2Quad, mainly for older 775 socket Intel boards, anything I come across is typically older, used, or liquidated tech.. rather then latest / greatest An old rig I'd gotten for free and setup with older GTA on PC is the Dell Dimension 4550 model, I find out it's included Audigy 2 from Creative Technology was one of the best sound boards out before the X-Fi variety were introduced. Nice The 478 socket and AGPx4 only allow me Northwood P4 with no Hyper Threading, and the nVidia AGP card is the Geforce4 variety 64Megabyte V-ram, Looking it up, the 420 model, only supports Direct X 7, whereas GTA III seems to request Direct X 8.1 at time of release in 2002 So.... Playing San Andreas version one on that would be troublesome, even dating back to 2005 as it does. My other project was a D915GUX Intel board, dating to 2004 through to 2006, using the 775 socket, supporting 800Mhz FSB and PCIexpress graphics, it's much better suited to handle modern 3D What you would need to keep an eye on is BIOS versions, Motherboard revisions, and Core2 code names as well as specs for the FSB matching, getting close to system RAM speeds as well, which don't always match, but don't have to. The Core2 E4700 is the top 800Mhz CPU for the 775, you're looking at a range of CPUs from Intel that shrink the die from 90nm (nanometers) to 65, down to 45 before the new chipset sockets came along, and 775 became obsolete, as far as what's out there now, the Nehalem The Penryn covers the 45nm process and boards were advertised more specifically to take advantage of them Some OEM boards as I mentioned, made for Dell or HP, Acer, Etc, will or can support up to 1066Mhz, but before you get a CPU matching that, for sure, run your latest BIOS, have the last revision for an OEM introduced motherboard, which would allow the last generation of CPU for that board still being supported
  17. If something SNAFU happens at Webring site GTAChronicles, I usually post about it, We're dedicated to the same online gaming news, related to Rockstar or not, as many fan based forums, but I was on the site earlier today, it was up and running fine, now it's offline for reasons unknown to me, I don't service the technical end, so I'm making a thread to keep users apprised of the situation, We're down for the moment, but not down for the count, so to speak! Hang in there. We'll probably get things squared away before more breaking GTA news. As with the last trailer, We will hope to support viewing on our site as well, for the SECOND, THIRD, 4th trailers, as they happen It's expected there might not be as much lead up promotion, since the game is expected to drop in 6 months or less!
  18. Forum Rules probably say Keep It In English. Sorry I don't know the various modding kits, but for uploads, I'm sure there's a few limited online Cloud storage sites that don't charge for limited files to the CLOUD (online virtual HDDs)
  19. I've seen some GTA emulated videos where some sort of re-enactment on YouTube is presented, but for the most part, nothing is as or has been as entertaining as the game itself, but I mentioned before, Roman's voice actor, on his YT channel did the voice alone to comic effect, and that I just love, it was hilarious, no two ways about it! I've not checked in to what he's done lately, but I should! http://www.youtube.com/user/Iamzumwalt?feature=CAQQwRs%3D
  20. As an observation, in addition. Before I got the re-ban from GTAForums, I was initiating my own self-censorship to try and not post just any response, to take a breather here or there, and hope someone's posted replies helps the person starting a thread, My opin has always been, if you have a different take on things, that being part of the FORUM ideal, where multiple replies are often warranted, then why not? There's no REAL harm in doing that. But I caught hell for arguably over-active participation, whether it was helpful or not, I don't see the harm in being active, bottomline. I never tried to be a source of SPAM as claimed, or being OFF TOPIC on some purported purpose of high jacking a thread or making or taking it off-topic. I try to cover what I remember at any given time, that could be helpful when I post it. If it's not helpful, or adds confusion, I never presume such things beforehand. Take what you can from it, that's really all... Being banned or mocked, or made fun of over that is what makes me rather PO'd about the whole affair
  21. Make sure you download the Xbox Accessories software from MS supporting the Xbox controller on PC, since not everyone moving to PC or laptop GTA can do the game under keyboard or mouse, note as well, you will find a re-mapping augmentation of the controller for GTA will help as well. For GTA mods, I don't know where they ALL reside really, but someone should have something to slow down the driving somewhat, on a variable gauge level I should think, I just found at game-speed, the controls being what they are on console versions, it can get pretty hap hazard and sloppy. As I see it, one of the major improvements in GTA is how leaving the Renderware engine was good in this aspect of the game builds. "BMW M3, Porsche Veilside and the Dodge Charger" The Porsche name you give seems fictional...based on a location in GTA 3? I've never heard of the car being named that, though I'm rusty, so I ask 'what's up with that'? As far as where the troublesome mods are that you try, it would help to link those in your post so people know which ones MIGHT be flawed, don't put all things down to user error, but some could be designer error and incomplete mods. Remember, any mods could be WORSE then Rockstar programmers own work, which has to be as close to spot-on as possible
  22. Helps if you give background, Most art is subjective...to the eye of the beholder To add some content to your new post... Note that Rockstar's latest Newswire is giving shout outs to all supporting themed websites, I nearly don't expect to see our own site on there, since we're not overtly creative fans (I was once upon a time, taking art in school, all the time) but it is nice for them to do so, and they've mentioned us on Twitter at least, and we love it! http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire Anyway, I think going with a non-Digital appearance is nice, it's what probably separates it more then other fanbased art. Looks like a black and white water color print if I'm not mistaken, I do more drawing then painting
  23. I got this link on HP or eMachine Intel boards, where an OEM uses a board specifically made by Intel in this example, Windows 7 and 8 support is just not there, in which case, try and merge XP or Vista drivers, obviously paying attention to bit versions.... http://downloadcente...oadType=Drivers Speaking about the model numbers, for nVidia, it's a good guide on the last two digits of the card designation, then you have a worthy GAMING in 3D graphics model, even if goes as far back as a 6 or 7 series GeForce. Remember, the first two define more of the series card they call into, and 6 series nVidia are the first to cover Shader Model 3, we've since surpassed. You also want a card supporting 9 series Direct X API, and now, covering PCIexpress models 1, 2, or 3 if possible. In the future, a PCI express version 4 will also be an option for gaming, the advantage with these is more throughput bandwidth at the connection of card to motherboard. My cards I have for PCIe 1.0 are the Palit 8600GT pair I bought, these are worthy gaming cards for that generation of motherboard, but if on a budget, there is an 8800GT card, the best one of the era would be an Ultra series perhaps, or of course, anything labeled GTX from nVidia!
  24. Remember Roman on YouTube? The actor voicing him, in other words... Wanted to take the character on a comic venture for YT audiences, IIRC, the particular intent, but ROCKSTAR themselves nixed it, and man, I can't believe they did that, it would have all been very amusing I'm sure. No worse then modding the actual game, me thinks
  25. BTW, guys, I know a lot of worry has still come up over GTA V and PC specs required, based on issues common to RAGE and it's PC adaptation, I found out another caveat to getting a baseline gaming rig working nicely, the Dell Optiplex GX 620 is based around Intel's i945 chipset, and it supports Pentium D mainly, but since it's also used in the HP / Asus OEM boards I also have been testing, the Limestone Asus P5LP LE board, I noted two distinct memory limits, the Dell, of which I DO have more then one for testing, limits all RAM inserted to 266Mhz top speed, sadly, this is not what one truly wants in a game rig, you want the fastest CPU and RAM speeds, GPU combo you can, but as mentioned prior, it will run GTA IV, it just crashed for me playing Episodes from LC Ballad of Gay Tony. All stock except graphics, the now affordable ATI HD5450 PCIe card, which will run GTA IV PC edition stock, without the mods... but I suspect, as such, this type of mod using the earlier game elements should also work fine Asus' P5LP board is intended for OEM systems, so their website doesn't offer much detail on those boards, but again, standard Intel 945G chipset offers a baseline that is tested to work with RAGE, under a plain-Jane Pentium D dual core, or Hyper Threading Intel P4 The upside is that board caps RAM speed a tick higher at 333Mhz, Maybe the DDR plays into matching it closer to the Front Side Bus speed, I'm not too sure, but either way, match all your RAM sticks as closely as possible, obviously for Dual or Triple channel mode. By BASELINE, I mean the minimum requirement, and you'd be setting the graphics attributes on the lowest end, but it should offer a PC that will run this or standard GTA IV Another thing of interest as far as using OEM for gaming; http://www.sevenforu...s-card-buy.html As far as size, I downloaded Windows 8 for 64bit, that ISO is over 3GB in size, and burning the subsequent download proved an issue for getting a "hard copy" disc, at any time during a massive download, some error can pop up, and though it seemed I had the complete file, it was probably not properly tested afterwords, to verify integrity. The IMGBURN software I think is what I used to get ISO image to DVD RW
