  1. Guess I just felt sorry for Derrick & Francis was a complete weasel, same for Playboy X. I wanted the penthouse, anyway. Ivan & Clearance both show up later as random characters & I accidentally beat Darko to death last time, thought he needed a quick "tune up" & he was a little to delicate. SARGENT HATRED: "WHOA! Eighty-six the non-lethal, we're gonna have to go full nerf on this one!

    Godfather 2

Okay, I've finished the game & am going for absolute 100% complete. The following is based on X360 but should be the same, the official guide doesn't list differences between platforms. Good - The gameplay is similar to The Godfather, only a few minor differences in the controls & the cars are nice. The handling is fairly realistic for early '60s cars, mostly big sluggish boats & a few decent muscle cars. You get a "Don's view" that works like a strategy game (Star Craft & similar) while keeping the original 3rd person for your player (like most of the GTAs). You can recruit your own family each w/ specialties (6 different) & call them to your crew or send them to bomb, defend or take over businesses for you. You operate in New York, Miami & Havana starting in the Cuban revolution & start the game by escaping Havana. Bad - The maps are tiny for the 3 cities you have in the game, combined to just a little more than either of the Main islands in Vice City, a bit of a disappointment from the original New York from the first game. Also gone are "racket" trucks, buyable savehouses & the respect system. Upgraded weapons have to be found to be unlocked for you & your made men & you can't perform the actions of your crew (like blowing a safe), they have to do it for you. Ugly - For a $60 game (US), it should have taken longer to complete. I finished in under 40 hours & that was taking my time & doing a ton of sidework. It would probably be easy to beat in 20 if someone wanted to get hardcore. There could have been more missions, bigger maps & more businesses. Main differences - The biggest difference in the controls is the weapons rotor, similar to Saint's Row/SR2 activated by the left bumper. The favors are plentiful & ongoing & some of them give you details to take out made men from other families, making it easier to take them down & defend your businesses. This time you can save anywhere as opposed to getting to a safehouse. You can also do favors for corrupt officials who will get your men out of the hospital, call off the cops & rebuild your fronts when bombed. In the Don's view gives you info about hit targets, businesses (yours & rival) & allows you call up favors from any place in the game. There's plenty of sidework. You can upgrade your people's skills, assign them a particular weapon & even customize their wardrobe. Short version - It's a good game, good level design/gameplay & nicely put together but falls a little short for the price. Rent it to play now & buy it when it drops to around $25 or so. It's nothing personal, just business.
  3. This will look different when you have kids.
  4. I dug this up for you. http://www.thegtaplace.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16223
  5. Let me guess, that was the practical exam. Most disturbing was right after I got together w/ Mamma Kitty, her youngest kid. He's extremely retarded & will always be in diapers, will literally eat from the cat box if you don't watch him, etc. He's also very small for his age. It was the first time I looked in on him in the morning & found him sitting in the middle of his room giggling & covered in shit. Seriously, how can that much come out of someone the size of a seven-year-old? Try digging a dirty diaper out of a ceiling fan sometime. The next disturbing moment came from the same kid when he was 12 or 13 (looked like a hairy 9-year-old). There was maniacal laughter coming from his room (not the usual giggling from a good mood) & that's usually not good. I look in & there he is standing in the middle of his room, pants around his ankles & jerking off. I turned the fire extinguisher on him (compressed air & water, no chemical) & went back to bed.
  6. Welcome to the Men's Room w/ Bas & Jeremy! Well, reading through this explains something I've wondered about. I usually do my shopping late at night (2 AM) to avoid retards but the bathrooms are usually trashed - toilets may or may not be flushed, piss everywhere, etc. I just get bathroom visits out of the way before I leave the house. It doesn't help that Wal-Mart will close half their bathrooms overnight & then decide they need to clean the ones that are supposed to be open, resulting in NO open bathrooms. I now know that the Wal-Mart bathrooms are trashed because British schoolkids are sneaking into them at night to create mischief. They're still on Brit time so that's why it happens in the middle of the night here. The next house I have will have a garage & it's own bathroom, complete w/ urinal.
  7. 3D w/ a bad smell.....

    Godfather 2

I've been playing The Godfather (almost 100% complete) & have been waiting for Godfather II. EA did a good job on the first one & if it carries over, it should be good.
  9. Women are genetically predisposed that they are physically incapable to lift a toilet seat. They're also genetically predisposed to leave deadly traps like stockings hanging in the shower. The blood curdling scream at sitting on cold porcelain, that's quality entertainment.
  10. Here comes the neighborhood!

  11. Yeah, you got killed by how cars spawn. Look in different directions & cars will spawn when you look back. Another great way to get killed in a gangwar - I'm on foot just south of Alderney City & just west of Tudor Docks & the Mafia want me, I get swarmed w/ 4 carloads (16 guys) & chased through a small pedestrian tunnel. There's 50 or so short steps between me & the nearest cover & grenades just aren't doing the job. Take a step. Take a step. Take a step..... Meanwhile the gumbahs poor out of the tunnel & open up w/ AKs & SMGs. The worst part was that I almost made it to cover, just a couple feet short.
  12. Offhand, I can't think of a spawn place but they do show up in traffic. I'm thinking around Dukes, Middle Park/Star Junction & Alderney City. Worst case you can take races until supercars show up & follow an Infernus to jack it.
  13. What version do you have? You should have the disc to play the game.
  14. Conner is a Brit, into drums & has an amusing Freddy Kruger T-shirt. He also enjoys a little shock value every once in a while.
  15. Take a fast turn & goose the parking brake, yeah you can cut the rear end loose on a FWD.
  16. Yeah, those first few were pretty easy, just used the Desert Eagle & all my guys lived back then. Finished #90 last night & still no new rewards, I expect to hit #100 tonight & will call it good there. I noticed they tend to throw two, about a second apart, & they can throw about half a block. If you can get uphill from them your grenade launcher has a little more range between initial launch & rolling. Land one under a car for a great show. Also, on "Escorting Vehicle" missions, stick close to the target vehicle when it catches on fire. When it blows it'll drop about $1000 at the spot where it blows up. Remember, you have a bike & most of the enemies are in cars. When they chase you ride through alleys & other obstacles to hang them up & break them up into more manageable groups. The AOD are mostly on bikes but use a few Slamvans that can get stuck in narrow alleys. Rare Car: Slamvan - Styled after a mid '50 Ford Panel Truck. Terry sells you weapons out of one (locked) & the AOD use them in gangwars, perfect opportunity to capture. When I have a chance I'll compile this into .RAR file & get some maps of useful things like armor, health & weapons.
  17. If you get away from anything over a four* you're working for it, especially since the cops continually spawn right on the edge of the search radius & re-center it. Glad you guys like the light reading, thought someone would like an account of my little quest.

    Wheelman

Someone's buying it, Midway (MWYGQ) is currently trading at $0.079 (US) a share. A month ago it was $0.04. Penny Stocks rule! I noticed the graphics looked a little raw, even compared to Saint's Row. How's the gameplay?
  19. Typically I'll play twice, once to learn my way around the game & then I'll go for 100% completion. For GTA4 I played four times so I could play either "Deal" or "Revenge" & get the "Liberty City Minute" achievement (incredibly easy once you know your way around the game, finished in about 26 1/2 hours). I never get rid of games so when the mood hits I can always go for a cruise around Liberty.
  20. Blimp rhymes w/ gimp or pimp. Another victim of public schools.... In High school I got creative w/ a history book (a $40 book in the early '80s), adding details here like drawing Hitler mustaches on one picture, altering a letter or two there. Pretty sophomoric (look, I use big word!). The best part was that I did this in the library & someone else saw my handy work & started laughing, then they got busted for "defacing school property". Kind of like being God, if you do it right they're never if it was you.
  21. Well, I'm telepathic! (I have the ability to watch television. )
  22. Couldn't agree more, my friends list on XBL is full of people who got a wild hair & changed their names. Who are you again? Where do I know you from? Cut Raybob a little slack, he just asked a simple question & if he gets slapped down every time he talks he'll just get a crappy attitude. We all had to start somewhere.
  23. Is it my imagination or does Chris look like Syler from Heroes? http://www.flickr.com/photos/cocean/413468266/
  24. Bloody American Telly strikes again, it's got to be their fault! No, that's a Zeppelin, much longer & proportionately slimmer than a blimp. He should have added a few veins or something. So how did Mum & Dad find out?
  25. DOUBLE POST: Husky posted while I was typing. The higher levels make "Three Leaf Clover" look like a cake walk. Take your "A Game".
