  1. Squirtle-squirtle! Squirtle-squirtle! Squirtle-squirtle! Squirt! What's worse - That someone spent two minutes taping this? That someone spent two minutes posting this? That we wasted two minutes watching this? Or the best response I had was a half-assed Pokemon joke?
  2. As long as the truck's in good condition it's bulletproof. It's definitely not invulnerable/DAMAGE proof. As long as the back doors or hood aren't knocked off you're safe. But in a chase you're frequently rammed & will probably hit civilian traffic that will inevitably stop right in your path. When that happens, you start taking bullet damage. Either way, I have a black police version parked at Niko's in Hove Beach waiting for when I need something that WILL take a beating.
  3. I used to get up Sunday mornings just to watch (the original) "Ren & Stimpy", "Rocko's Modern Life" & "EEK! Scary Monsters" w/ my kid. I've never been a day person, bugging me before the crack of noon = . When she was 7 she actually told her (bitch) grandma she wanted "Log" from R&S for Christmas. I miss the '90s.
  4. No prob, If you can spare a little space on your it'll save a few headaches. BTW, welcome & enjoy.
  5. Thanks for the headsup Chris, Mamma Kitty will appreciate the info. I think I got along best w/ 98 SE, never had BSD & it always worked for me. In all fairness, I didn't do any internet back then, just played games & ripped/burned a few music CDs.
  6. You can keep your "hair dryer", prefer the Bati 800/Custom. I've repeatedly blown up, smashed or just driven the Hackucho into the ocean for being too squirly. I rip through any of the races on a good old fashioned Zombie or on the Innovation (favorite of the new bikes). Back to topic - Any reliable word on new vehicles or weapons?
  7. "Do this mission for me" topics. WTF?!?!?! "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy get me this computer it's so awesome I'll clean my room I'll walk the dog I'll mow the yard I'll do better in school get it for me or I'll die blah blah blah......" Mommy/Daddy drop a month's rent for a new decent computer. "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy get me this game it's so awesome I'll clean my room I'll walk the dog I'll mow the yard I'll do better in school get it for me or I'll die blah blah blah......" So now Video Badass Junior has Red Cloud Tsunami #69 the prequel & gets hung up on a mission. There's guides. There's walkthroughs. There's Google. That's too much work, they go to a forum & instead of taking a minute to see how other people beat the mission they just whine & want someone to do it for them. "I'm so awesome I beat Red Cloud Tsunami #69 the prequel I pwn blah blah blah......" No, dumbass, some stranger beat it for you. When did playing your own video game become too much work? WTF?!?!?!
  8. Map parts are mainly DATA mods, placing things like buildings & trees already in the game. Some add models like the Statue of Liberty or new buildings, you install those like you do a car but there's no DATA entries to edit. Save copies of the original files but there's not much to go wrong in map mods. They're a good place to learn your way around modding. Good luck.
  9. Cool, looking forward to this. You mentioned new textures & vehicles, will they be similar resolution to the original or high res? Are you keeping the hidden packages, export lists & sidework? Any new sidework?
  10. What kind of mods do you want to install? Start here, it's for SA but applies to any game you want to mod - http://www.thegtaplace.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22268 Also read through chris82's "how to install cars" topic at the top of the GTA3 modding page. Also read through the pinned topics (top of page) in GTAVC & GTASA modding forums, again a lot of the basics apply (especially VC). Good luck.
  11. Alright guys, neutral corners. Arguing the last DLC is a little off topic. Agreed on being able to change clothes, got used to being able to do that in a game & you'd think that would be a standard feature by now. My previous list - Add the multi-player "Mafia Work" to single player. Add new TLAD vehicles to the original script. Buyable savehouses w/ garage space (actual garages instead of just parking spaces). Weapons stash at savehouses. Parachutes. More additions to soundtrack. Especially like TLAD additions to LRR. License Biz Marquee (yes, he makes me laugh) & Digital Underground. (Not to LRR, the rap station.) Add to that - At least be able to change outfits like VC, VCS or LCS. Ideally you can get things your character would be into. Patch all new vehicles & weapons into GTA4 & TLAD. Niko would love to cruise around on an Innovation bike. An option to fix up savehouses. They don't have to be "pimped", but damn, Johnny needs to get to Home Depot... Patch sidework into all variations. Johnny does "vigilante", Niko gets "gang war" & new guy gets all previous.
  12. This is why you back up files before you start editing. It's nothing against you personally, just all the topics that have popped up because people just dive into modding w/out thinking first. Look here - http://www.thegtaplace.com/forums/index.ph...mp;#entry344507
  13. Same here, R* probably just edited the original playlists instead of making separate ones for TLAD.
  14. Whoa, that's 2/3 of the GTA4 map! Is CTW just "overhead" view or is there a 3D option? How does it play on a hand held?
  15. No it's not bulletproof, but it will take a severe beating. If you have someone in the back (backup) shooting from the open doors the truck is more vulnerable to gun fire. A quick turn shuts the door until they open it again. Nice tactic, the truck blowing up is secondary. I'll give that one a try.
  16. Yeah, go figure. I think you got my point.
  17. Got Mamma Kitty a new PC for Christmas, a Compaq w/ onboard N-Vidia & AMD Athlon X2 64 & 3 Gig of RAM, For the most part she likes it although the games that came w/ actually run slower than the on-line versions. I remember hearing about an "Aero" interface, do one of you Vista guys know how to shut that off. As for me, my XP Pro machine works just fine & I'm a firm believer of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" & I'm not a big fan of MS wanting to make me upgrade my OS every couple years. Seriously, they get the bugs sorted & it works just on time to be obsolete. I can see why people decide to get Apples, according to their reps at Best Buy, new Apples are compatible to older software (I know, it's their job to sell new computers, still, MS is just helping them). Eventually, I'll have no choice & w/ any luck Windows 7 will be sorted. When that happens, you guys should be easy to find.
  18. Party mode comes to mind, I think the cops are turned off for that. Either that or look for a "no cops" cheat & make sure the AUTOSAVE is off.
  19. Last I knew, Lyme disease didn't cause psychotic behavior (I have know several people living w/ it). The guy just went nuts. I can't remember the source, but heard the church in question has offered aid to the family of the shooter. It's no consolation, but it's good to hear that even after something like this happens people still try to be decent.
  20. Believe it or not you figured that out. Sometimes you just have to put up w/ something you think is crap far awhile, but eventually it's over & you get on w/ your life. That philosophy will serve you well in life. As for screwing around in class, hitting people & not doing your schoolwork, you kind of did that to yourself. I won't bore you w/ the standard "If the Finklestein kid jumped into a wood chipper would you" lecture, but, if the Finklestein Kid.... You've been busted enough times that even when you do small things you get busted when someone else just gets a warning. The school just looks at your record & decides not to waste time on you. They're tired of being treated like free babysitters. What you can do is start taking school serious & try to learn. It'll take work & time to turn things around, but you should be able to do it. Glad to hear they're willing to let you make up the test, use that your advantage & good luck. Did you bring enough to share?
  21. Side note, in Lost & Damned you redo one of Niko's missions from Johnny's perspective. You'll recognize it pretty quickly. When you do it, just remember to go out the back door instead of the front. You'll find a lot fewer cops & a nice black Enforcer (cop version of the Securicar) for your getaway. PS: Niko's parking spots all work in TLAD.
  22. X10 Add the multi-player "Mafia Work" to single player. Send paramedics to L-RiC's house, he may be having a "cardiac event" at hearing me ask for any rap music.
  23. Irony: In the early '90s when the Brady bill (Background checks, waiting periods, etc) was proposed, pro 2nd amendment law makers also wanted to check potential gun buyers for a history of mental illness. Sara Brady categorically rejected it, it might offend mentally ill people.
  24. Yeah, terrorist stuff got a lot of attention. Look at all the crap that came from bad cartoon porn in SA, R* just tried to act responsibly in that respect. Now it's 7 1/2 years later & we've gotten over it so it's not such a big deal. They also dumped the entire DARKEL thread, which ended in flying a plane into a building.
  25. Is that random or did you shoot it down? Reminds me of a glitch in San Andreas where you kill a civilian & the body stays there until you reload the game.
