Okay, once again there's new topics asking for original files for SA because "modded file doesn't work" & it's too much trouble to re-install. SIMPLE SOLUTION: When you (re-)install, do it twice. Install the game & then make a folder outside GTASA labeled "SA backup" or similar & copy the contents of GTASA to it. Leave your backup folder set as READ ONLY & no you have your own backup of any file or model in the game. When you uninstall, defrag your hard drive to completely get rid of the old files (Windows tends to be a little lazy & will re-use old files if they're not overwritten). Install your mods one at a time & test them before you install another. This whole topic may seem pointless, but not everybody knows this. Consider this a headsup for people new to modding. STAFF: Feel free to lock or move this to another related topic, whatever you think will best work.

Define "mentally ill". Is the person in question just a little eccentric ( ) or really a danger the themselves &/or others? One of my kids (technically step-daughter, but if you spend 10 years raising 'em, they're yours) is legally insane & a little too comfortable w/ the contents of the human body. They can take a beating, but you can kill 'em w/ one grenade (did so last night playing L&D). If you ran for Alderney, it probably would have went up. Still, it would make it a lot farther than almost any other vehicle in the game. I try to keep the parking space at the Bohan savehouse open (the cops tend to run into cars parked there & you loose them when you save your game) for cars I want to sell at the chopshop, so more than likely the Securicar will be there when you restart your game. Payday + always good. I find them common near the Bohan savehouse & in south Alderney. They're usually good for about $1100 or to blow them up ($2500 at the chopshop). If you use a weapon on them it's an instant 2* warrant (just have an escape plan ready when you so), but if you smash 'em into things until they catch fire you get no heat (unless you catch a civilian in the blast you may get 1*).

Does it interfere w/ the bike races? Either way, you're off to a good start. Base jumping in SA is a blast & this gives you more altitude, hope you included ENEXs to get the most from it.

It translates to about 8 meg, probably referring to hard drive space. Which version of SA are you running & what patch are you trying to apply? Saw your related topic, is there a VISTA patch for SA? (Thought I saw reference to one awhile back.)

Pretty old news, this has been kicking around since before GTA4 came out. Is this speculation or have you seen something solid?

It may show up more than once, I ran into that modding the GXT in Vice City (they're similar). Go to the point you changed in your GXT & make sure it took, then try the FIND NEXT option.

I opened Algonquin & decided I wanted the PSG sniper rifle (found on the roof of an apartment building in south Alderney). That's MY rifle & I'm getting it, PERIOD. I hail a cab & enjoy a nice ride to Helitours. It's a nice day, not hot or cold & listen to a little Radio Broker. Just short of the destination I fire a few shots across the hood of the cab & the driver panics, jumps out & forgets to charge me (works every time). I drive right up to a heli just as the passengers are getting in & explain to the pilot (Vicky?) that he's sitting in my heli. The rotor spins up & I pull back on the stick a little, drifting backwards before I pull a quick 180 & head west, low & fast. As I pass the Statue of Happiness, I smile & salute. She's just so damn hot! Moment of truth, I could turn back now & there would be no consequence. No, THAT'S MY RIFLE & I WANT IT NOW!!! I gain a little altitude as I pass over the prison. I wonder if the food any good. Too my surprise the ever-vigilant Liberty City authorities see the brightly colored stolen heli as it passes over their maximum security prison. Elton John blares out of the radio. By now I'm a priority to NOOSE, the ground is swarming with them. That's okay, a little creative flying & luck are my best weapons. I set down on the roof next to my precious, step out & pick it up & get back in before the rotor stops. Again I pull back as the heli lifts off & pull a quick 90' right, laying the stick hard over as the bird turns & going in to a quick dive for street level. Did those agents jump out of my way? Again, low & fast. I make for the nearest canal & follow the water until I cut north at the channel. I skim the water around the north end of Algonquin & brake for Bohan, managing to avoid the gunfire from the pursuing police boats. I know the attack helis are out there but so far have avoided them. I follow Bohan's west shore south until I see the apartments where I met Elizabeta & Manny, catch a little altitude & pancake the bird on the construction site. I know I only have a couple seconds but the dump truck is right there. I get in, find Liberty City Rock (just seemed right for the situation) & run for the entrance to the site. I expected between radar & people on the ground NOOSE saw me land & that was quickly confirmed by the roadblock at the entrance. I blast through, running down a few agents in the process. Bohan's swarming but I only need to make it three blocks. Screw it, I'm feeling ornery & head to the old Sprunk factory, again running down agents. The truck's starting to smoke & I'm at a 6* warrant. Time to end this while I can. I ram the NOOSE Patriot in front of my place, jump out as the dump truck catches fire & run in. I'm not dead. I'm not busted. I have my precious. Time to call it a day, so I go to bed. That's how an Outlaw does it.

I thought they were a step back (graphics), they looked pretty crappy on my 43" Sony. Dark, poor contrast & it made it a little harder to play. VC just looked a little brighter. On a PSP it probably looked good in low res but the PS2 port used the same low res graphics & it would have looked a lot better if they just used the original VC graphics. Biggest difference was that Vic could swim & there was more for sidework. Every Empire business have missions based on the kind of business it was, there are the beach missions, Air Ambulance & heli firefighter & they have a "bookmark" feature that kept track of every 5 levels in a side mission. Do 20 levels, save your game & come back & you start at level 21. Overall VCS was a good buy because the only complaint I have is the graphics, everything else was good & it released for $20 (same as LCS). Would have liked to see a PC port.

One difference is that in VCS you start on the west half of the map, in VC you're on the east. Something I miss from VC is buying savehouses. In VCS you just unlock a few, like GTA3 or LCS. Read back through the other VCS topics & you'll see what I call the "Super Mario" glitch. Just west of Stonewall J's in Little Havana is a small construction site, a hole w/ a big exposed pipe. Jump on it in the right spot & you get warped to the golfcourse, past the barriers & giving you access to the whole map including the Police Maverick on the roof of the Washington Beach Police station. As far as I know it only works on the PS2 version. If you watch your map, all the properties on the east half come up for sale just before the entire map opens. Use the Super Mario glitch to go over & buy them out, w/out firing a shot. I would still like the MAIN.SCR from VCS, add parts to VC & have the best of both w/out the crappy graphics of VCS.

Sort of, but it'll take a little work. If the maker of the scripts is willing to share their script code you could add them to your own script. If you're not comfortable doing that, contact them & see if they can put it together for you. STEP 1: BACK UP EVERY FILE YOU PLAN TO EDIT!!! Also, if you decide to post your own mod, get permission from the original makers of any part you use & be sure to give proper credit.

In all fairness, the topic is "What Really Pisses You Off?" & since Obama took office he's pissed off a lot of people. When he took office I owned stock worth about $70k, since then I've lost about $10k. That should piss off anybody. raybob95 - Yeah, most of us get it. Try to keep the Obama criticism in specific topics on him (he's fair game in my "Presidential Failure" topic), just remember he's popular so be ready to back up anything you say w/ real hard facts. The argument "My teacher said so" holds no more value for us than it does for libs & Wikipedia is quick & convenient, but not 100% reliable. Sources like CNN or US government websites will carry more weight. People who paint cars colors that shouldn't exist outside the human stomach. Today I saw another '00 'Stang that even had 17s similar to my own, in a shade of green that looked like something my cat yacked up. Mary Kay Pink would be better.

BOY, WHERE IS YOUR MAMMA?!?! (^ 11-year-old ^) As long as it's not a serious physical relation ship & her parents are okay on this, 4 years isn't a big deal. It's a case by case kind of thing, just remember that at 14 her parents are legally & morally responsible so respect their wishes. you'll have plenty of time for "other' things when you both get older.
