YellowJacket
http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/pop...4&ch=222562 I really hate people who just don't care about pets. Do you not realize that a pet is part of your family? I have two dogs and a cat and all three of them are pretty much my kids. I spoil them like a mother spoils her child. I cuddle with them at night when I am sleeping. I play with them. I just can't believe someone could be such a complete asshole (well, I can, but it wows me every time). I hope this cop dies by choking on food one day. Edited August 18, 2008 by YellowJacket

I mean, even if the pet owner is speeding, the cop could've done something at the dog rather than bash on the owner about him going too fast... Some people just don't care about animals... Connor
That cop is a twat. Hope he get's killed by a dog eating him. Could of easily escorted them... Edited August 19, 2008 by Connor

Animal cruelty tipline, anyone? The stupid cop also started asking the guy if he were on drugs. What an asshole! I think his girlfriend said it perfectly when she stated that the cop wanted to show he was the one with the power. I couldn't imagine sitting with my dog in my lap and having it die right there. WRX22B1998
Wow...thats pretty slack. I didnt watch the whole video, but just the title told it all. That cop must've been having his period or something, jeez. so slack.
MrLlamaLlama
That cop is an asshole... right up until the point where he avoided the potential deaths of dozens of people. There were huge trucks on that highway, they can plough through any number of lanes without stopping if the driver loses control, and those things are heavy, they'd crush cars and the people inside them at 30, let alone highway speeds (no idea what your laws are in Canada) Ok, it's sad the dog died... But all of us would have called the driver trying to save his dog an asshole if he caused a bunch of deaths. There, i said it.
Gerard
I'm not sure where you would draw the line. Is it okay to rush humans to hospital whilst massively speeding, driving dangerously and being on the phone? What about dogs and cats? What about a pet rabbit or mouse? Llama is right though - if he'd caused a truck to swerve and it caused a pileup which killed ten people (it happens), he'd have been the idiot and sent to jail. A cop that lets that happen doesn't deserve his badge. If he'd been doing 80 or 90mph, but driving safely, I'd have let him get away with a quick ticket. If it was a human, I'd have taken them myself. Thing is, would he have got to the vets in time if he'd been driving pretty much normally?
Righty
The guy was taking it a little out of hand. But, the officer could have had some empathy and escorted the guy to the hospital and then write tickets.
Little_Chestnut
The pig would have gotten my best face punch ... I would then jump in my car ... speed to the vet, admit the dog and then turn myself in.

That's what I was thinking, but would you really like to pay a Fine or possibility of some jail time. Some chance you'll be let free, by a nice judge. Id serve as much time in the world as long as the pet lived. That story discusts me. My cat is pretty much my son too YJ. I talk to him, feed him, play with him, he sleeps on my bed every night. He's my family, i treat him like one of my own. Pets deserve the same amount of respect as humans. We're no better than them. That poor dog he should of escorted them. And sorted out the fine etc later. He was trying to be "the boss". He was probably abused and controlled as a child and finally wants to be the master. Exactly what my dad is like. It's a common trait with people who were controlled and abused as kids and end up screwed up like this loser. How horrible.
Bear
That story is disgusting, yes they shouldn't have been driving dangerously but I would do anything to save my two dogs. They are my family as far as I'm concerned, I would do anything for them. That pig just wanted to show who has the power.

Italic: The man was hysterical when he got out the car, he could have been mentally ill, high, drunk, anything when that cop pulled him over. Bold: So every cop who tries to prevent speeding and death was abused as a child? Get real. He didn't know for sure there was a dog (see above) Seriously, you'd have all called the guy who caused a multiple death highway pileup an asshole for trying to save a pet. Wouldn't you? Connor
The only thing the cop could of done was escorted them or took the dog and them. It seems a bit like torture having to accept a speeding fine while your dog is dying.

Humans are the biggest problem on this earth. Dogs don't do shit mate. As I said, he should of escorted them. That drugs bullshit is stupid, and even still if he was that much of a danger he could at least get another cop in to take the girlfriend to the vet and leave the guy there with the cop to test for drugs and write the ticket. "IT'S JUST A DOG YOU CAN GET A NEW ONE." He did nothing to help them. Would you say "It's just a baby you can make a new one!"? Don't think so. Funny how you quoted my post despite the fact most of the others said the same thing I did. I do Psychology. I know what kind of person that cop is by the way he was acting. I'm saying alot of people like him had complications as a kid. Not everyone. And if he doubted there was a dog he could go fucking check. His attitude was way off. If your dog or child or wife etc is dying you probably aren't thinking too rationally. People with no excuses speed on a daily basis. They have more to be ashamed about than this guy. I probably wouldn't have my head in the right place either if my dog was choking to death next to me. As pointed out, if a human is giving birth or dying, more sympathy is given to speeding. Which is stupid but the truth. Would you keep to the speed limit if your wife or child was dying? They're pleading for you to hurry cause they need help and do you answer with "sorry pumpkin i can't go over 70". Most wouldn't. Vercetti Thug
I actually doubt that the guy could have gone another 8 to 10 miles to make it to the Vet in time. Sure he could get through the front door if he was going 100 miles per hour which he was, but what if the Vet was busy with another guy who came in or the dog just died anyway? Sure the vet was talking to him on the phone, but whos to say? Besides, those Big Rigs looked dangerous. The cop is still an asswipe though. This is pretty much how it happened: "Calm down, calm down" "MY F^%$%ing dog is dying you ass!" "Calm down, show me your drivers liscense, oh im sorry this is not your liscense, lets wait for 20 minutes while i write a ticket up for you while your dog dies a miserable death. You can always get another dog. Relax."

They're pleading for you to hurry cause they need help and do you answer with "sorry pumpkin i can't go over 70". Most wouldn't. Okay. The cop could never be sure, without approaching the man (and his car), that there was indeed a dog. Danger that the man is high / drunk / armed is always there, you never can tell from that distance, he couldn't smell him breath, do a feild test, anything. All he knew for certain is he was speeding, endangering others lives and hysterical. Dogs may not do shit. Shit like speeding down a highway endangering lives. Just because you do psychology, doesn't mean you've met this guy, know how he was brought up, nothing. All you know is he is doing what eh was trained to do. I'm pretty sure the entire Canadian police force is properly trained to deal with certain situations. I quoted your post because I've already countered pojts made by other members, and i happened to hit reply after your post. Don't take it so personal, who knows, i might have been abused as kid and have some agenda about doing it. If my dog / wife GF was dying, sure, i wouldn't be thinking too great. But if it was a human life, I'd call an ambulance. An animal, I'm sure i'd drive a little faster than i would, but not swerve through highway traffic. The guy didn't help himself by yelling at the cop in hysteria. Those people that speed, let them, they get caught, cop is in the right. In any case of speeding, there's still a huge chance of an accident, why certain speed limits are emplaced. No amount of ill canines can take away the fact he was driving like an asshole, endangering lives. Final thing: Ok the cop was ignorant to tell the people they could get a new dog. But people can't buy a new wife / mother / son / daughter / father / neice / nephew / etc. The cop as doing his job, not trying to kill the dog.
