If you see a CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) error or something similar, then your disc is either scratched or dirty. Try wiping it carefully with a CD cleaning cloth, or if it's badly scratched, sad to say but buy a new, legit one...

I suggest that you back up your personal data (music, movies, whatever) to a CD-R or DVD-R, and shift-delete it, bypassing the Recycle Bin... I do this once in a while to prevent any data loss, y'know - backups are a geek's best friend...
