Hah! I love how Rockstar "forgot" to capitalize "Auto" in the letter! I mean, if you're going to try and fake something like this, the least you could do is have someone else double-check your grammar before you post it! (Also, "goodies" is capitalized for some reason.) Edit: "for any question," yeah, this is fake.

Its just a game... What's the point? If you miss that day, then the next day when you do go to school you'll have to do so much more make-up work that you won't be able to play the game at all the next day. What I plan to do is just speed through all my homework and finish it all up at lunch so then I have the rest of the day to play/post news on here if needed.

GTA IV Not exactly Worldwide Release
MishoM replied to Dirty Harry's topic in GTA IV Discussion + Help
It ships on the 28th, you can buy it on the 29th. Games are release on Tuesdays in America, 29th is a Tuesday. Only people who are really lucky will snag a copy on the 28th. -
Well, yeah. This was already posted as news, so in case you want to discuss it: http://www.thegtaplace.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=15532 Closed.

Is it the same as this?
-
Yeah, but the 20GB and 60GB sold like shit as compared to the 40GB selling like a champ. The only thing I could possibly see happening to it is a small upgrade in the hard drive, I really don't think they'd get rid of it. They really need that $400 model.
-
I heard that the 40GB was actually going though...for good. I know that it was the 80GB that was staying because they're coming out with a new one, which is supposed to be larger than 80GB. It would be stupid to take away the 80GB and have the 40GB along with one at like 160GB. Too big of a difference. The 40GB is going no where any time soon. Go to any Blu-ray forum, and ask them what Blu-ray player they have. 90% of the answers will be "PlayStation 3." In the end, neither models are going anywhere. The 40GB is staying for sure (there hasn't even been a rumor of it being discontinued), and the 80GB will be back come June via the MGS4 + 80GB PS3 + DualShock 3 package. It would also be nice to see Sony drop the 40GB's PS3 price down to $300 or $350. Just don't include the Spidy 3 BD or something.
-
They ALREADY did announce another PS3 model. The 80GB Motorstorm pack is being discontinued, come June, there will be a NEW 80GB pack that now has Metal Gear Solid 4. The 80GB really isn't going anywhere, just the current package is being discontinued for a better one in June. So in June you'll be able to buy: $399.99: 40GB PS3 (no backwards compatibility) + Spider-Man 3 Blu-ray Disc $499.99: 80GB PS3 (backwards compatible) + Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots (unless suddenly something changes) So the 80GB will be gone until June, and then it'll make its come-back. But I'd be willing to bet there's no way they'll sell all those Motorstorm 80GB packs by June. And it was a smart idea to NOT get rid of the 40GB, the market needed a $400 Blu-ray player, its probably what persuaded Warner Bothers into going Blu-ray exclusive as well.
-
Hah, they'll only "sell more of it." I hope everyone realizes that the only way to possibly sell more copies of GTA is to release more GTA. Go ask a friend with a PS2 or Xbox, ask them if they have any GTA games. 9.9999/10 will say "Yes." They won't change a line of code, they'll just have more code... Every year... And it'll be over-done and turn into a shit series.
-
That's the Japanese boxart, the American one will probably be different. Nonetheless, it looks great. Can't wait to get this. Its coming out June 12th, that's about four or so days before schools done for the year. It should be a great way to start the summer.
-
@OriginalGTAMaster: What're you talking about? Its the 80GB PS3 that is being discontinued, not the 40GB! @Spaz: No, right now (in the U.S.), its just the 40GB with a Spider-Man 3 Blu-ray for $400. However, you can still easily find an 80GB with Motorstorm for $500. Come June, it'll be $500 for an 80GB with Metal Gear Solid 4 and a DualShock 3 controller (I'm guessing all models will start coming with the revised controller though).
-
Huh? That is the 80GB version, there is no 40GB version of the Metal Gear Solid 4 package, just as how there's no 40GB Motorstorm package now...
-
Just saw this at Destructoid.com: O.O WOW!
-
Did any of you guys hear about the new PS3 package coming in June? Its set to include an 80GB PS3, a DualShock 3 controller, and a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots, all for just $499.99! Sounds like a fantastic deal IMO. Also, the rumored (but highly likely) date for MGS4 is June 12th I hear. Can't wait!
-
I 100% completely agree with Spaz. You guys aren't "fucked up" at all. I'd be willing to bet that if something horrible were to happen, and I mean something really "fucked up" right in front of your eyes, you'd all suddenly become "normal" and would no longer be "psycho". Is it cool to pretend you're crazy now? And sorry if I came off as a total asshole to everyone in this topic.

As far as I know, you can only create a "Master Account" on the actual PlayStation 3. I remember there being that option when registering for the PlayStation Network.

EA's bid to buy Take-Two Continues
MishoM replied to IllusionMPN's topic in GTA IV Discussion + Help
You know, I wonder why Microsoft doesn't just buy Take-Two or Rockstar Games, they have the money, and just imagine GTA IV being exclusive to the Xbox 360. I wonder why they don't... -
Yeah, just because there are two tall buildings next to each other doesn't mean its supposed to be the twin towers. To be honest, the game is already going to get enough shit from all the angry mothers, I don't think they'd add that in there.
-
It comes with one controller. It also has a 40GB hard drive (that's what you save your games saves on) meaning you don't need a memory card of any sort.
-
You can also use your HD DVD player as a SD DVD up-converter if you were silly enough to buy a format with such small studio/industry support.
-
Actually, Microsoft will take a hit at HD DVD not beating out Blu-ray, Microsoft created HDi, the interactivity feature on all HD DVDs, (for special features, etc.). So, I'm *pretty sure* that Microsoft was getting some royalties from HD DVD, although I am not positive. @Red Devil: lolwut? There isn't a single HD DVD drive in any model of the Xbox 360. There's an external drive, which will be dirt cheap next week according to some rumors (saying it'll be $49.99). And also, I wouldn't doubt an Xbox 360 external Blu-ray drive. In fact, I'd say its almost for sure coming. The BDA (Blu-ray Disc Association, yes, Sony isn't the only one in charge of Blu-ray as some fanboys like to think), is open to anyone joining. They've even gone as far as saying both Microsoft and Toshiba are "more than welcome" to join the BDA. @GTA Don: Again, Sony doesn't control Blu-ray, AT ALL! Many electronic companies control BD, in fact, I'm quite sure that Panasonic has more patents on Blu-ray Disc technology than Sony does. The BDA is in charge, which is just like the DVD Forum (who was in charge of DVD, HD DVD), everyone is welcome to join and release Blu-ray products. Decisions are made by the BDA's board of directors, (Apple, Sony, Warner Brothers, Panasonic, etc.). Microsoft could release a BD drive for their 360, just like how Toshiba could also join and start releasing stand-alone players ASAP. @Spaz The Great: It isn't useless, I mean, its just kind of a waste if you know what I mean. Its just not the same. I've been following this format war for a while and also have quite a large collection of Blu-rays.

I would do anything for another Jet Set Radio. ;_;
-
Well, you wanted it locked, so it shall be locked. Also, I think a few other GTA websites were reporting that company (or whatever) doing facial graphics for GTA IV, so I too think its a mistake. Locked.

Your Grand Theft Auto Collection
MishoM replied to Harwood Butcher's topic in General GTA Series Chat
Grand Theft Auto II (PC) Grand Theft Auto III (Xbox, PlayStation 2) Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (Xbox, PlayStation 2) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Xbox, PlayStation 2, PC) Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stores (PlayStation Portable) Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (PlayStation 2) And countless magazines featuring previews of the games which I've boughten to help out GTA sites for scans, etc. Oh, and I want to see all your GTA shit Chris. After looking at your Flickr, it'll completely top anything we could possibly have. -
Yeah, I sometimes get movies I pre-ordered through Amazon on the Monday before they should really be released. I'm wondering if this would work with games too, if so I'll pre-order on Amazon and get all the GTA-goodness a day early.
