8800gt is out of date now, if ur looking for one around $200 then get a ATi 4850/4870 or a nVidia 9800GT/GTS250 or something... pentium 4 is a no-go, it might run but it will hold you back a lot. get a core 2 duo like E7300 or if you wanna spend more then maybe get E8400 or if you have a big budget, a i7 or a phenom X4 955 keep in mind if you want any of these new CPU's you'll need a new motherboard. Gigabyte EP45UD3LR is a good Intel one. Not sure about AMD. For i7 maybe EX58 or ASUS P6T, i7 is quite expensive though.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I didnt think this is possible at all. The only way off the top of my head I can think of, is to buy a TV tuner that has RCA (composite) (yellow,white,red) inputs and plug the PS3 into that. All the DVI, HDMI etc ports on your laptop are output, so that won't work. Also, WTF is this doing in "Graphics & Writers Pad"

i had a quick look through those, most are saying to reinstall the driver. but some people said not even that helps them, and it's just a issue with windows 7. what you could do, is make a batch file that runs on startup (put it in the startup folder), and it stops and starts the windows audio service, like this. echo off net stop audiosrv net start audiosrv exit

FAT32 ...ehh such a shit filesystem lol. but yeah i knew about that. i still think that it's because of the drive being 3.5" and not 2.5", im pretty sure you dont need a specific brand either, my friends WD passport thingo worked. its just as long as its 2.5" and FAT32. unless it comes formatted like that, you gotta use something other than XP cos it can only format FAT32 partitions up to 32GB for some reason ... :S ohh that sucks about the copyprotected saves ...

yeah you're best off installing two copies of vice city (or install one fresh, then make a copy of the folder) so you can mod one, and use the other as unmodded / multiplayer version.

hmm my ps3 stuffed up before, it wouldnt boot past the playstation logo, then is about to load the menu but just failed turned out the hdd was corrupted, i ran some disk check thingy in the recovery menu (restore file system or something) and that fixed it. hey if you do a full system backup, does it back up the save games that are "copy prohibited"? because like half my games are copy prohibited savefiles and it'd suck massive balls having to do those all again. also, im guessing you can't use a 3.5" external hard drive as a USB, i tried with mine and it didnt recognize it its a shame cos one i have is only about 30% full...maybe i'll get a 2.5", or il get a new iPod classic for Xmas since I think the battery is going on my 30GB video one.
