Yes GTA LCS is for PSP only - that is how it has always been marketed. That is why they have only recreated Liberty City, rather than going the whole hog making something brand new and sparkly which they are going to do for GTA4. Perhaps they will cut-down gta4 for the PSP after it has been released, but thats another few months of work. That boxart is made by a fan, just like hundreds of others. MVI has made loads, and much bigger than that. Amazing how the PlayStation 3 logo is wrong, and the R* logo and ESRB rating are far too big, and the tiles aren't even in the correct GTA boxart style. It's a fair attempt, it just isnt the real thing. Expect to see that a month or two before the PS3 release.

Don't say ideas are gay. How do you know the sexuality of his ideas? Have you started coming onto them or something? The idea of being rescued is actually interesting. Ambulances resusitate dead pedestrians in the street, so why can't they come and pick us out of the water. If our health is low and we're just staying still in the water, a coastguard should come along and give us the opportunity to hop in his boat whilst he drives to shore. Not too keen on the aquatic life idea, turtles and jellyfish is enough for me. if dolphins existed then you would be able to shoot them, and not many people would like that. Maiming humans is fine but as soon as it gets to animals its a no-no. Maybe seeing dolphins pass by, yea okay, but not it being a big proper interactive object. I agree with you 100% on your underwater texture idea. If you use the water modifier you can completely remove the water, and see that the underwater modelling it absolutely crap, no effort gone into it at all. Wrecked ships, pickups and maybe a flooded village in a reserviour should all be added, as well as a little bit of detail. Any secret area is fine by me, and underwater should be no exception. Scuba diving is actually an excellent idea - you would be able to go underwater for 'hours' James Bond -style. Peds should be able to swim, you are absolutely right. Howabout peds going to the harbour actually getting in a boat and driving off with it, they can get out of cars and drive off easily enough. Maybe even taking out groups of tourists (from the airport or hotel) and going scuba diving with them? Great ideas. Parky, your idea or a cast or crutches is actually okay, if we do an injury that would be like a broken leg, an ambulance could come up to us and put a cast on then we can walk away, just maybe a little slower than normal, then after 24 game hours it falls off - thats not bad. Just not have to go to hospital every time we jump off a low building. Hitchiking is fun - you SHOULD be able to stand at the side of a road and wait for someone to pull up, and you get in their car as a passenger, just like prostitutes do. Its not a big step for prositutes to turn into hitchikers, just combine it with the taxi feature. I think it would be fun not to hotwire cars but to be able to sabotage them. Its a perfect mission where you go up to a car and pull out its spark plug - much more effective than shooting the tyres or just blowing up the car.

If you want the Sims, get the Sims. I can see why people would like to see GTA brought a bit more down to human level, getting a job, buying cars, looking after your appearence. But really, that isnt what Grand Theft Auto is about. Its a cross between a First-Person Shooter (or a 3PS to be exact) and a personal character game. It follows a storyline of missions, but you can go off and do whatever the hell you want to, which usually amounts to driving without regard for other drivers or pedestrians, and making good use of the wide weaponry you are provided with. If it gets to the point where missions are taking your poodle for a walk, convincing your manager you need a pay rise, and choosing the colour of carpet for your house, then something is wrong. The whole girlfriends thing in SA was too far in the wrong direction. We want big loud guns and fighter jets, not taking our girlfriends on a date to Ten Green Bottles. GTA is NOT about real life, its about doing things you CAN'T do in real life. If you want to be busted for parking on a double yellow line, go and park your own car on it, you get to go to a real court - much more realistic. You CANNOT kill fifty people in real life by driving down the footpath/sidewalk instead of the road. You CAN'T infiltrate a secret military base and steal a jetpack. You CAN'T walk into a quarry and use the crane. You CAN'T fly your Harrier jump-jet around the city and fire rockets into the police HQ. These things we have NO chance of doing in real life, and if we did it wouldn't be fun because there are repercussions. I don't like going to prison for fifteen years cos i drove over a pedestrian, so I shouldn't have to do that in the game. Cop chases are fun, and thats what SHOULD be in the game, for when you shoot other cops, NOT for parking. If GTA4 becomes a 'living your real life' game, its going to lose all its appeal, and just be a hi-tech sims game with a massive area to roam. We want the detail of the Sims, with the outrageous gameplay of Grand Theft Auto. The result? GTA Four.

I think it would be pretty fun to have separate states, quite some distance apart, only connected by cruise ships or planes. The idea of reviving VC, LC and SA is one that has come up a lot, but it would probably be too much effort recreating those entire cities (LC for the fourth time) in yet another format. The GTAIII trilogy is over, and should be laid to rest. Yet another storyline in those old cities would not be remotely fun. As for size, twice that of San Andreas would be acceptable, provided there was an even spread of countryside, water and cities. I expect to see a lot more skyscrapers, and more houses out in the country - mansions and the like. Public buildings, like City Hall, museums, courthouses etc, need to be more clearly identified. Back on the point of Divided States, I do like your idea of having a theme of repression, and the handcuffed statue is a clever way of showing that. The name would need some work, but perhaps you could work this into an SA mod?

Okay let me get this right Warehouse members supplied with items WH members sell items to vendors Vendors sell to 'public' and contract to gangs Stockpiling prevention Encouraging competition Encouraging relationships WHs + Vs target of gang attacks WHs + Vs can be 'protected' by gangs That all sounds pretty good. Here's a couple of suggestions from me One WH for each type of item (one for weapons, one for vehicles etc) Each vendor must salvage contracts from each WH or as many as they wish to sell their products OR have a couple of WHs for each type of item, requiring a bit of competition OR have multiple members per warehouse, possibly with a 'boss' I think property is a good suggestion, but if they were predefined or not I'm not sure. I just wouldn't want one gang thinking they're better cos they made "the white house" and "buckingham palace"

Great job chris, seems to work pretty well. Makes a change from the good old days of SportZone. Nice to see someone not scared to take up a challenge against the big companies swarmed by advertising, good on you.

Oh so this is personal? Okay, I can do that. 1) Realisticness - realism 2) Yes, too much realism would spoil the game 3) You mean it would be crap keeping just the same weather, more weather is needed, bug sun/fog/rain/storm should be kept 4) Werst - Worst 5) I agree, we need a new character 6) I see your point, although there is a limit to how much better you can mod a game - new vehicles, skins, missions and buildings are the furthest anybody has got - total modifications have never succeded. Rockstar give us new foundations each time, and the modders just remake little bits of it. Rockstar could never please everybody, so somebody would always want their little plane or their new car or whatever, people are modding to personalise the game for their play, rather than improving it generally. I'd rather have a better game that was harder to mod, then just the base code you had to add stuff to to make it any good. 7) More peds. Definitely. But they do have their own house... kinda. In SA, each ped goes somewhere, usually a house. But each ped should be a combination of clothing, face, body and hair, so we have like 6250000 random peds made up of 50 outfits, 50 faces, 50 bodies, 50 hairstyles. Each ped doing different things, that'd be fun. Don't forget the accessories (GASH bag, swag bag, chainsaw) and make them WALK IN STRAIGHT LINES goddamnit. 8) Yes the PS3 is a next-generation console, that means its better than the PS2, it doesn't mean that it could cope with remembering every single peds house and life, especially not 6250000 of them. 9) Init - "is it not, dear chap" So yea, i kinda agree with you

1) Too much realism is bad for gta. If everything was upside down, purple and everybody had six heads and drove fishes instead of cars, then that wouldnt be realistic, but it wouldnt be better. 2) I dont really think the sexuality of a game is determined by its realism. Try saying 'boring' or 'crap' instead. I dont think the AI is that bad, i mean peds walk on the pavement (sidewalk) and chat to each other, get in cars, crowd around injured people, run away from guns - all pretty basic stuff, but thats all we need. Different peds have different walks, voices, vehicles, and times of day that they're out. If they were to improve some ped aspects, i'd be happy - things like running towards a car thats hurtling towards them, and the awful things that happen when you try to squeeze through gaps/bottlenecks and they just walk back and forth trying to get past. Some of the traffic realism (driving off a bridge to let a cop car past, thus plummetting to their death) is stupid but funny. Also the whole planes spawning in mid-air with projectiles that lead them into the hillside or buildings or whatever, thats just hilarious, and the developers decided not to bugfix it. Don't get rid of these things, they're great. Remember what about GTA3? Do you mean compare it to San Andreas? If so, yes you have a good point, but the things that people complain about are still there. To me, realism is good textures and lifelike animation, NOT traffic violations and brushing your teeth. The realism of the views, landscape, buildings and cars have all improved since GTA3, so i'm happy that it'll improve on the way up to GTA4.

I'm having worse problems, ever since i've been on dialup. Somehow i got infected, and everything started dying. Okay I can handle that, a quick format of my C: Drive reinstall windows and sorted, but no. This fecker has invaded my other drives and network drives, so when i reinstall windows, it pops up again and wreaks havoc. Whenever i install anything it hijacks msiexec and installs more of its malicious programs. I'm gonna have to make the computer entirely standalone, sort it out, and wipe the entire network, burning files to disc individually rather than entire directories (or even archives) at a time. This is gonna be a horrible process, but if i had broadband i'd be able to backup all my important files to the server, then just reformat. Thing is i dont, so i have to burn to disc, which is a lengthy process in itself. This laptop only has a cd-r in it, so that'll take aaages. Another problem is i've not got an OS, any suggestions?

You can. The Verdant Meadows Hanger is a fully functional hanger/garage. Anybody who uses the admin console (like me) or garage editor can spawn cars/planes in there. Thats where I put me andromeda, takes a bit of assistance to get it out, considering its way too big.

Firstly if you are busted in a car it appears at the back of the car park under the cop station in whichever city you were nearest to. Traffic violations would completely ruin the game, being busted each time you went more than 30mph, through a red light or over a white line is NOT what i would call fun. Cops grabbing onto the back of your car? So you want there to be no escape from cops ever? Every time you steal a car, drive badly or kill someone you get arrested every single time? You wouldnt get further than the street next to the cop station before you were back there again. That is insane, it really is. This has been discussed so many times. I have a suggestion, go downtown and buy The Sims or Driv3r, you'll have lots of fun walking your dog and going to the toilet.

Suggestion regarding Save Games
Gerard replied to Narain's topic in Suggestions / Help / Bug Reporting
Spaz, do you really have to be so negative. Oh okay, so he mistyped a word thats rarely used - what a sin. Not everybody spellchecks their posts, maybe he just typed it fast and missed the R, maybe he didnt think about the spelling and just typed it. In fact, Spaz, your post probably counts as spam, whereas his was legitimate. And anyway, the idea is good. I think there should be a place for more than just discussion. Possibly sections dedicated to uploading game media (comparing and contests) and possibly another for swapping and helping with savegames. We're missing out on the possibilities that PC has. Okay a few people have uploaded savegames to ask for help, a lot of people have uploaded their stats, many people have uploaded some screenshots, and a couple of videos are splattered about, but there is potential for a lot more. When GTA4 comes, we'll be ready. -
You can post smilies if you're using fast reply - click "Show Smilies Pop Up Window", then click on a smilie or three and it inserts the code. I'm using fast reply now.

Our security was bypassed when one member gained unauthorised access to one of our moderator's accounts. This moderator had limited access to the administration panel. Upon gaining access, the hacker deleted several member's accounts, banned other moderators, and removed some user groups. We have spent the evening correcting these problems, and restoring some parts of the database from our daily backups, and we are confident that these problems have been corrected. If you think you have been affected by this, or there is still a problem outstanding, please let us know.

How the hell is your gta mod current affairs? That means news, you know, the real world. Notice how this subforum is full of things like the pope's death, earthquakes, exam results and nothing to do with gta? *moved to san andreas mods section*

Go on then mvi, instead of wasting time by complaining about the time taken you try doing it Its the motivation to sit down and do these things, rather than sit on your ass and do nothing. Ideally, we need more staff to cope with the site content, if thats to be of any focus. With 2.1.1, the gangs, the store, and the shake-up, the forums will be pretty much sorted by christmas, and should run fairly smoothly. The site design is good, and the codings fine. So the site and forums are sorted but need content. People write volumes in the forums, but a few more graphical things have been added recently (eg pwned) so people are maybe more inspired to write for the important stuff, and the fun sections dont take up all the effort. So yea any offers for content? Or anybody you think should help out?

Supply lines is a mission in San Andreas, not Vice City johnno_991, I've issued a warning because you bumped some anicient topics. Check the date of the last post BEFORE you reply. If it's before september, don't bother posting.

And we're gonna wait until thats done before we upgrade? I would have said that 2.1.1 took priority over keeping the current systems running until we got a new one. But i may not be around to see it.

Arr, this came free with my new combine it did. You like my new popstation, do you? What is that? Thats a playsation portable that is! Rubbish, my popstation be better than that it does.

Cubans and Haitians - the restaurant north of sunshine autos then that fat woman... forgotten her name. They're around that part of the game I think, been so long since i did it. Oh wait, you said you'd done trojan voodoo i think thats them. Go round that auntie's house (just off the west of the links bridge) and see if she'll brew up some tea.

Just dont even THINK about posting in Blue Impact size 7 - it is pointless and incredibly annoying
