Leather. Now I did it.

Probably pick up Halo 3 after the Christmas rush, some friends got it & it looks good. Pretty sure it won't hit the "Stupid Games" thread.

I'll keep that in mind. Early on when you're racing Celicas & cars like that it's pretty good. I just hated having cars that wouldn't stay on the track, like the Sledgehammer 'Vette. The cars that would benefit most from wings & spoilers were prohibited from having them. The demo for "Test drive Unlimited" looked good, the only game so far where a Shelby Cobra Roadster (289 Cobra here) drove decently. In GT4 they're squirly at best & in Forza almost undriveable. Any comments on TDU? Pick it up or don't bother?

Guess I'm more of an "autocide" kind of guy. Hood ornament = crosshair.

GOOD NEWS EVERYBODY! My tech support just called me, the motherboard in my computer (Rocket Box 4.2) is okay, the chip is fried! Wait a minute, that's terrible news! The bright side is the board was fixed w/ $1 worth of capacitors & the chip (AMD Sempron 3000+) is still under it's 3-year warranty. I'll have it back tommorow w/ a "loaner" 2500 until my new chip comes in. Also getting a better (500w) power supply. So it's up to Rocket Box 4.21. Looks like I'll be off the laptop by tomorrow afternoon.

Glad I'm not an ancient roman criminal.

I HAVE mowed my lawn & found an automobile. Like Foxworthy's show "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?", but some of those people should be on "Are You Dumber than a Bag of Hammers?".

***Quietly smiles, raises shields in 'Stang*** (In my other life, I build starships. ) Midnight Outlaw was pretty lame, couldn't get into it. Not a big fan of "Need for Speed: Underground". The cars drove okay, I just never got into the whole "Fast & Frivolous" thing.

Brings to mind an old Monty Python skit. "WE KNOW WHAT YOU LIKE, YOU MILITARY....." The gesture of "flipping the bird" (showing an extended middle finger) dates back to medieval times when a land was conquered. Apparently it was common practice to remove the middle fingers of the vanquished people. It affected their ability to use a bow & arrow, rendering them virtually useless in battle. Showing the middle finger was an act of defiance to show they escaped that fate. This new bomb could elevate "Mooning" too new heights.

Bring it, scooty puff jr! I will say one thing for Forza. It feels good ramming one over-priced road turd into another.

Cracks = Software Piracy. Read the rules before you get the undivided attention of STAFF. For those NOT using cracks, the message either means your machine doesn't meet the minimum specs (should be a README in your GTA VICE CITY folder) or your machine has a problem. You should have some form of DIRECTX, click START on your desktop. Select RUN & type in DXDIAG. you should have a SAVE LOG or similar, use that to save a report. This will tell you what your machine specs are.

That's right, more new guys. For their benefit - "Hot Coffee" was always part of SA version 1. Someone found a bit in the save file of the PC version that turns it on/off. Version 1.1 is a patch that removes it from V1 & V2 is a major rewrite. It never was a mod, there were only tools that turned it on/off. If you decompiled the original PS2 version, you'd find it there as well. The headache was that to remove it completely, R* had to rewrite the MAIN.SCR (all total over 1/2 million lines of code) to make it work right after removing the HC code. The moral of the story is that if you buy a game for your 14-year-old grandson, READ THE FRELLIN' LABEL!!! Some old bat in New Jersey forgot that part & J(A)T type lawyers clean up. We now return to our......

As I recall VC sold pretty well on PC after the PS2 release. R* may want to give their fans what they want, in this case a PC version of VCS that you could mod & make your own. To Date (w/ the exception of "Hot Coffee") I know of no effort by R* to discourage modding. Even SA versions 1.1 & 2 have "holes" in to allow downgrading. I wouldn't rule it out.

Silly LLamaLlamma, Baby raping murderers have rights, to things like pop-tarts & cable TV! What WERE you thinking. Seriously though, I would support a plan to allow death row inmates to earn a life sentence by participating in medical studies. Yes, they would spend the rest of their lives as human lab rats, but they would have a life. Charles Manson could be a useful member of society. You can stop laughing now.

Little Haiti 1994 + Little Havana 1994 beta
Urbanoutlaw replied to Dr.Dbl-Gee's topic in GTAVC Modding
Looks nice. Will this work w/ the original missions or do you wait till you finish the game to load it? -
Sounds like your "friend" got off cheap, if it came new w/ Windows ME that wopuld make it 7 years old. Upload your foot to his ass for that one & dump ME for either 98 or XP (pro). I had good luck w/ 98 SE once I ran the latest service packs, was a little pissed when SA required 2000 or newer. What games/apps do you plan to run on it?

DUKE NUKAM!? I forgot all about that one. One more reason to dig out my old 486.

Okay, so we all agree DRIV3R sucks w/ bad dental work. The handling gripe applies to Forza for me. It started out good, but as I progress in the game I end up w/ a bunch of 800 HP hellbeasts I can't keep on the track & like most racing games the AI cars had perfect handling. At least Gran Turismo 4 had the mega-turbo code that sent 'em into a hairpin at 300 MPH when they pissed me off.

You'd be surprised. One local lab used to run a study that payed $5000 for one day. They were testing drugs & equipment to re-start the human heart. One of my room mates was an alternate on that one. There is a large market for volunteers who make their main income from doing several studies a year. The heart re-start study was concluded years ago, now most of them pay $1800-2400 for 3-6 weeks, most allowing weekend stays & several check-ins for blood draws during the week. They also have done smoking studies here ($500-800 avg.).

I think "Hot Coffee" cost R*/Take Two something like $8 million between recalling unsold copies, rewriting code/redistribution & fines. Even thought they still made money, I doubt they would want another loss like that eating at their profits.
