IllusionMPN
Found this over at psxextreme The latest buzz says that Take-Two and Sony have struck an agreement for the next Grand Theft Auto title (the one after GTAIV); the check Sony signed apparently means the game will be a PS3 exclusive. This actually started with a blurb from the Official Xbox Magazine, but it just doesn't make much sense. We'll keep an eye on it, though. In the meantime, feast your eyes on all the fun rumors...let the debate and speculation begin.
Airashii
Ugh, talking about the next game already. I'm expecting it in about 5 years. Who knows could be 10. All I say is if that is the case, Sony have paid A LOT!!! I'll say a bit more actually as well: I'd love that to happen.
GTA Don
A GTA 5 PS3 exclusive? Cool. But it's not really fair on the 360 owners, guess they could just buy a PS3. It would be good, but not fair.
Red_91
Having it PS3 exclusive would be good sice they wont have to concentrate on two consoles and really push the game to its limits (which would be a lot for the PS3). I think if it were to be a PS3 exclusive then it would really push PS3 sales up.
Harwood Butcher
Do you think they could have gotten confused with L.A. Noire??? If they do I'll be a little happy...because then Sony has a huge title to hold over Microsoft's head.
GTA Don
Imagine what Grand Theft Auto 5 would be like...Everything would be so realistic.
Dirty Harry
I hope it isn't!!! GTAs have to be played by everyone, no matter if they use a Wii PS3 or XBOX 360. I own a PS3, but I don't want other players to have to buy one to play GTA, that'd be lame. Console wars bite, companies should join hands. Harwood Butcher
Imagine what Grand Theft Auto 5 would be like...Everything would be so realistic. Right after I read what you said...I remembered that there will probably be around two more games in the GTAIV chapter of the Grand Theft Auto series so GTAV is far away. It most likely won't appear on the PS3.
GTA Don
Never! The fight between Sony and Microsoft should continue, if they do then they're going to keep on building better consoles until one of them loses. The first ever GTA game was on a PlayStation. Alkali64
If it is true... i might actually cry. I'm not spending £300 on a PS3, just for one fucking game! Console wars bite, companies should join hands. I agree, Microsoft and Sony should stop trying to outdo each other and focus more on making one kickass console... I agree, Microsoft and Sony should stop trying to outdo each other and focus more on making one kickass console... The last time 2 companies tried that, it didn't go so well... (Sony vs Nintendo, caused the birth of the PS1 and N64) But anywhoo... If there wasn't competition, the neither company wuld be as spurred to create a better console... meh. Too far ahead for me to start thinking now.

chris82
lol fat chance of that, I doubt even GTA could REALLY drive sales of the PS3...much like it didn't drive sales for the PSP. I'm not insulting the PSP or LCS/VCS but those are two of only a handful of good PSP games. Also...the PS3 is nice but...256mb of RAM...Sony has a habit of not putting enough RAM in their consoles. IllusionMPN
Well I was hesitant in even posting this, I'm so glad you guys didn't rip me a new one. LOL I just want to get 4 out of the way first. And in all honesty, I highly doubt any transaction has gone on to buy out the rights, it's purely rumor. I don't own a console and never will, so I don't mind either way lol.
niko bellend
By the time it comes out, the price of a ps3 would have dropped alot. Plus people would be used to what they have got by then, so i dont really think it would boost sales.

But the PS3 has blu-ray. So? Blu-ray doesn't matter, the public isn't adopting it like they adopted DVD. The public would rather use an up-converting DVD player or just download HD movies. Blu-ray didn't help the PS3...it caused the delay in production, rose the price, and fucked it all up. If Sony had not put Blu-ray in the PS3, the PS3 might have done better because of how much cheaper it would have been and how much sooner it would have been released. GTA Don
I agree the PS3 would've been cheaper without Blu-Ray, but Blu-Ray can hold up to about 50 gb, if I'm not mistaken. It's a good asset to PS3, but it did make the PS3 a lot more expensive. Edited January 27, 2008 by GTA Don
chris82
8GB is actually around the content DVDs can hold, Blu-ray can hold 50GB+ depending on the amount of layers on the disc. But that's useless, because no game in existence comprises 50GB worth of content.

MrLlamaLlama
Oblivion is 9 gig, and that takes a fucking eon to complete, and it has massively good textures, models, audio, video, text files and stuff, 50 gig is a long way off yet... Kitsune Inferno
Actually, Oblivion was 6GB, fitting well within a DVD-9.
MrLlamaLlama
6? *Checks DVD case* It claims to require 4.6 HDD space... Neither 9, nor 6.... Kinda just further proves my point.
