Intel CPUs clock higher speeds, but the Athlons have significantly better architecture. Thus, AMD CPUs are better in pretty much every way, even if they do seem to run a little slower at base speed, they catch up by working better. Err, yea - AMD

It changed ages ago when chris upgraded to IPB 2.0.4, and not forgetting we have moved servers once or twice since then. He just hasn't made /forums/ a subdomain again yet. He should do though.. -
I think he wants gravity-influenced ragdoll effects throughout the game, including when people fall over (dead), instead of the mid-air pose some give.

Come on, we know many American cities, everyone knows Liverpool don't they... Evidently not And as for PCJing the GWoC, you would like a next gen PS3 game to be centred around riding a bike on a wall....

You know sometimes I wonder if some of the people here have even played any GTA games... I know a few people (that spammed gtalondon forums) that thought SA was the first GTA game (wtf...)

As a point, and not to agree with mindless n00bs, backwards compatibility could be wound into the future games. There COULD be an option to load the maps from a previous compatible game, or future expansion packs. That way official maps would be released (now Odie can't make any more). Maybe, just maybe, a future GTA engine could use current game maps/paths/vehicles. However, i doubt that will be neccesary, with the ever-expanding map sizes and game possibilities etc, that you would have to resort to using an old game you used to play a few years ago. Mind you, I think we can all agree it would be nice to see Vice or Liberty in new glory, with these being the classic GTA cities we will always remember, but i think we can also agree Rockstar shouldn't waste their time on something like that, bringing VCinto SA is the job of modders, as it was with GTA Liberty City (Put Liberty into VCs engine)

tis sad, his mods were absolutely peppermint.

I only got SA a couple of weeks ago, PC version, so I am still doing the unknown (apart from the save game i lost, about 5 missions i have to redo) Yea, its the best bit when you are given the freedom to explore

Are you not aware that San Andreas was an entire state, comprised of three cities, a mountain and a desert? Anyway, if you had an entire continent to work with, then it would take about ten/twelve years to make, and what they started with would be out of date (styles). Anyway, Rockstar need to be focussing on smaller things, rather than just bigger playing areas. More features, such as televisions, car interiors/interactive dashboards, more destructive objects (buildings and landscape) should be focussed on, not making the map too big to work with. Anyway the most satisfying feeling i get when playing a GTA game for the first few times is learning my way around. Once i could get to unity station from grove street without referring to the radar, then i was happy. When i mastered the ocean beach to downtown route, i was happy. Revisiting brilliant places, such as the airport, or film studios, or something, is rewarding also. Never possible with a flaming continent.

In San Andreas, we've seen how we can do more things to manipulate the game. The clothing ranges have been massively expanded, fitness is customisable, and even comments are made on it. The beautiful thing about the GTA mission structures is that they they are 'pick and choose' - you dont have to go from level to level, you go from mission to mission to pissing about to mission to vigilante to the gym to mission, and entirely at your own choice (providing certain missions/areas/contacts have been unlocked). In a coming GTA game, I think this customisation will be massively expanded on. You could see yourself choosing between missions, rather than choosing the order they come in. If you fail a mission, you could lose respect for that contact, and s/he may give you a worse mission to do, or refuse to give you any. You could also get talking to some prominent figure, and they may give you missions, just like you kinda do with Jizzy in SA, except thats just part of a cutscene in a mission - you should be able to do that off your own back. Make friends, make enemies. And if you kill people - they die and don't return. This goes for pedestrians, bodyguards, contacts, bosses, public figures, and even your friends and family. More things should happen if somebody dies. If you kill the congressman/mayor/president or somebody, maybe have a funeral for them (not organised by you or anything, just a procression down a street), and a replacement should be implemented. The same goes for Dons, contacts and gang leaders - the gang should either riot, or bring in a new leader. This could all be helped along with the interactive news reports.

Here, you can post pictures and photos of what you want to see in the next GTA. Saves people getting bored of the posts, and we could see some funny things. You could explain the photo, but it could be funny trying to guess. Try to keep your images fairly small. If they are wider than 800px, please just link to them instead. Please do not post without posting a picture as well. This is for pictures, not discussion. This is called the "Fatman" Should be enough to keep you going

I think San Andreas shows the versatility of GTA games. I think this is a good opportunity to have more control over the future of the storyline. If you killed somebody, they shouldn't come back. For example gang leaders, if they die their gang should do something, like appoint a new leader, or riot or something. So you should be able to chop and change gangs and friends by who you please and who you kill.

The GTA Place has 116 members per staff GTAForums has 1153 members per staff Which works out to say The GTA Place's moderation is 9.939 times better than GTAF, as each staff member here looks after only a handful, but a GTAForums moderator looks after over a thousand. However GTAF have been going since 2002, and very approximately, around 60% of members are inactive, and of course these forums will have a percentage of inactive members, which will affect the totals. But dont forget that inactive members may still have posted. So here are the staff-to-post ratios: TGP has 39,315 posts and 14 staff, so thats 2808 posts per staff member GTAF has 1,405,040 posts and 66 staff, so thats 21288 posts per staff member This shows that each TGP mod only has to deal with one eighth of the number of posts a GTAForums mod would. Not convinced? Heres a random one. The member with the highest post count here is Spasmodically_Insane with 10.94%. On GTAF, its Chunky Lee Chong with 19,150 with 2.34%. I'm fairly sure that proves something. Anyway my point is here the moderation can be distributed between individual members, topics and posts. On an overwhelmingly massive forum such as gtaforums, moderators cannot work on a personal level with everything. My feeling is that that site is just too big.

I'm going to rebuild this subforum, so I've restarted this topic and poll with a wider range of choices.

This topic has been spammed by MGLIB81 and his various double accounts, which appear to be in competition with the record set by Spaz. I will close this topic temporarily to tidy up a bit. All offending posts have been archived for review and further action. In case anybody fancies personal vendettas and the like, the host name for 64.36.56.98 is node-40243862.dca.onnet.us.uu.net *topic temporarily closed*# ------------------------------------------------------------ EDIT: Okay we seem to be clear for now. I'll reopen the topic.
