  1. Loaded WMP up w/ The Cult, currently on "Wild Flower".
  2. Yeah. Sorry I can't be more help, just opened Alderney so I'm a little behind you.
  3. That explains why you shot up my firetruck. Things are pretty good for me right now, a huge improvement from the beginning of the year. I have a nice gig as a state contractor who takes care of a really screwed up kid & most of the time it's as easy as turning on the TV & giving him a couple hotdogs. But sometimes I have to literally wrestle him down & there's the emergency carpentry at 3 AM when he kicks his door off it's frame. Last November he turned 18 & his contract rolled over into another office. Great, I start December by choosing between making a car payment (the 'Stang) & my kids having Christmas. The car got repo'd the day after Christmas & it went downhill from there. My dad passed away (unexpectedly) & a few things just blew up in my face. Since then I got the car back (ouch!) & things have smoothed out. If it's rough now, remember, there's ALWAYS someone having a worse day. Just hang in there & keep trying.
  4. Go ahead & grab the cars for Brucie. Some of the other topics are about something similar to yours & they seem to have something to do w/ letting time pass in the game. You can also try calling some of your contacts to see if they have something.
  5. Welcome & enjoy. Take a few minutes (if you haven't already) & check out the layout of the site & the rules. Here's somewhere to start for your tutorials - http://www.thegtaplace.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9653
  6. It started w/ a few cars for VC (which took on a life of it's own) & I ended up wanting to get into script mods, especially mission scripting. I even have a few outlined (about 20) & new characters for SA, like "A Streetcar named Disaster" where CJ has to stop a bomb-rigged streetcar in SF from killing US Senator Vercetti (I know that guy from somewhere) & even takes missions w/ Vic Vance (he faked his death in VC). I haven't gotten as far w/ that as I wanted but I like talking to you guys & sometimes you really make me laugh.
  7. I just opened Alderney this morning. Found the savehouse & a heli-pad 2 blocks from it. I'm 4 or 5 bridges from another X-box achievement. HADES AB ALTAR!!! (Latin for hell from on high)
  8. Time out - How does some retarded (personal) insult = "owned"? Especially by someone who can't stay on topic in a SPAM topic? Try to keep this in context. I try not to overuse this, but - Yo' mamma so dumb she spent all her spent her foodstamps on that tricycle!
  9. When you hook up the controller, the option "CLASSIC" should show up under CONTROL options. The game is programmed to look for them & default is the same as PS2 version. If you re-map your controls (I set all my games as close to GTA3 as possible) bu sure to assign "YES" & "NO" to your keyboard (respectively "Y" & "N" keys). You'll need them to recruit gang members in some missions. Is SAAC strictly for SA or will it work w/ other games (like SCAREFACE:TWIY)?
  10. So he can get it replaced under warranty.
  11. The "Dukes" (as in "Dukes of Hazard") is as close to a '69 Charger as R* could get w/out paying royalties. I'm a Ford guy but I've always liked the '69 Charger.
  12. When you finally get the call, you have to drive his car & you DON'T want the police to see you. When you leave the meeting, watch for the white nose of a car at the end of the alley just north of you. Go south instead. The rest is easy cash.
  13. Here, hold this! Drops grenade & drives off. Later.
  14. In theory it would be easy, just time consuming. The trick is adding the IPLs from GTA3/LCS & VC/VCS to SA. They would have to be added is sections as individual IPLs (like Harwood, Little Havana, etc.) & called up in game like different parts of LS, SF & LV. It's just a matter of moving around the new areas so they're reasonably placed from SA's existing islands. Once that's done you would need to add the radar/mini-map bits to make it look right. The next thing would be to add/edit paths for peds & cars so the new parts aren't ghost towns. To cap it off, add locations for Taxi missions & some missions specific to LC/VC, maybe even pull them from the original MAIN.SCRs for each city. Get some of the LCS/VCS side work while you're at it. I don't know if the SA engine would support new savehouses or buyable properties w/out giving up originals from SA. Worst case there are several that could be moved & maybe have garages added to them (like the Marina Carpark from VC). When I get back to script editing in a few months (been busy w/ GTA4) I'm planning on experimenting w/ the 3 delivery missions to see if I can add some to each city.
  15. Firetrucks are also fun to drive, especially if you can get a good fishtail.
  16. Better yet, in action. (Whaddup, Sky?)
  17. Oh, THAT mission. I chased him all over hell & back (Cop Car), but I finally got him off the bike. Then it was over pretty quick. BTW, for a quick mission.
  18. Was on w/ Tech, rem & Noru last night & it occurred we could use a place to discus tactics for upcoming clan matches. This would be apart from existing gangs & open to all TGTAP clan members (in good standing, of course). One forum for both PS3 & X360 players should suffice.
  19. It still looks good. Now someone just needs to code the missions, make some new cars, tweak the maps.........
  20. Your machine should handle mods okay. Map (IPL) & general DATA (script, handling, etc) mods shouldn't change the way your game runs. If you could upgrade your RAM to a full gig that would help, especially if you start changing cars. Most of the ones you can download are higher res than the original R* models so you'll want as much RAM as you can get.
  21. Yeah, I looked while I was making my script edit.
  22. Yeah, exactly. Alright you two, back in your box! That was funny as hell, & the guy is right about having to re-learn the game every time a new one comes out.
  23. Good one Sean, full point. When someone is bent on killing another, a firearm is just a convenience. If one's not available they just use what is like a blade, a car or even fire. Nepolean was extremely paranoid of air rifles & had standing orders to execute soldiers caught w/ them. Even 200 years ago they could fire a .44 caliber bullet around 1000 feet per second & 20 times a minute. Range & impact were comparable to black powder weapons of the time. They were also much quieter. More here - http://air_guns.tripod.com/air_gun_history.htm
