  1. 1. Do you reckon GTA IV to be moddible?

    • Yes, GTA will be the easy to mod game that we are used to
      14
    • Yes, but it won't be as easy as it used to be
      19
    • No, I don't think an average modder could be able to mod GTA IV

  2. 2. Will the style of GTA (the files like the .txd's and the main.scm) have changed?

    • Yes, a full new game with a full new approuch
      25
    • No, Rockstar will keep it how it was. Why would they change it?

  3. 3. If possible, would you mod GTA?

    • Yes, I'll mod it and make the game even better!

Ah ain't that cute, maybe they should marry.

I sincerely doubt IV will be mod-easy-able, of course the community is dedicated enough to mod it even if they go for the Activision approach of putting it in an assembly like system with check digits and hashes everywhere :angry

Some guys can`t wait for mods, just to make extreme stunts that they don`t know to do them without using a speed/car respawning et. mod...you can do amazing things without mods...

I only like mods that fix something not change it(maybe thoose are not mods...)but I rarely use them...

Is it possible to make a game that doesn`t allow modding?I mean a non-moddible one...

I`m just worried that R* never released a PC game since june/july 2005, could be a sign that R* didn`t like the controversial mod--> HotCoffee and they might "secure" the game to prevent modding, or only be able to mod a small amount of parts of the game, maybe just only vehicles(real name cars...)/player(appereance-tatoos,hairstyle...) modding or what if ...

GTA 4 might be a game that doesn need to much modding, I mean the cars have shading is like modded ones in 3,VC & SA...But someone always will want more from a game...

sorry for going a little offtopic

Technically it's nearly impossible to stop a determined experienced modder, you can easily make it very hard to mod the game, and limit what mods can be put in place, but then again memory hacking and exe editing can't be very well blocked.

Now how would you want to mod on the ps3?

Also, a mid range PC is good enough for GTA. Don't think you'll need more then 512 MB VRAM. Probably 256 VRAM is enough and 320 MB would be great. For normal RAM I'd say 1 gig, 2 gig if running Vista and CPU 1.5 GHz Intel Core Duo2 or AMD equivelant.

So basically every game is moddable?even though some games are easier to mod than others...

R* should watch their cards(possible modding files and keep at least 60% of them very harder to mod) otherwise we`ll have HotCoffee Sequel and another scandal

DAMMIT dude stop ignoring me. HOT COFFEE WAS ROCKSTAR'S FAULT. THEY MADE HOT COFFEE. IT WASN'T MADE BY THE MODDING COMMUNITY! Want proof? IT WAS ON THE PS2 VERSION OF THE GAME. IT WAS SIMPLY UNLOCKED BY A MODDER.

And why can't people get over themselves? The people hardcore against modding are more than likely going to buy a console version or can't figure out how to install mods. People have fun editing games, just because you can't do it doesn't mean you have to have a bitch-fit over the ones who can. CHRIST.

The whole point of mods is that they're optional -- if you don't like em, don't install em, simple as that! Modding helps keep games alive years past their use-by date!

And if I was rockstar I'd just put the explicit sex scenes into the game on first release, why not, it's not like it could get a higher rating!

Argh I'm really jealous I don't have San Andreas for PC. I mean I want to play the game again (My PS2 broke :() but then I want to mod it a little and have some fun.

I know I've never modded before but it does make the game fun, you get new cars, new weapons and etc.

Can't wait till I get it.

Here porn is 16. One more of the Dutch rules.

Second life: disaster

Drugs, legalised prostitutes, sex shops near schools: No prob

Strange country

And yeah, basically everything is moddible. If you know the way R* codes that is. The main script is hard coded and difficult to edit. Only moddels and textures are really simpel to edit. And the main.scm a little to.

Modding the game is easy once you do a few, same thing with adding new stuff to message boards.

Every game could use a little modding.

GTA IV, if moddible, might be hard texture wise tho.

Why would it be hard texture wise? Textures are the easiest things to replace in any game, you simply get a picture, crop/resize to a dimension divisible by 2, and replace the file in the archive.

I think he's speaking of how it will be higher-res. But yeah, you don't have to have high-res to replace high-res. It's just going to look a little funky, that's all.
