Mpilk901
Hey guys, I was on SpeedTest and I came across a new site that they've opened called PingTest. It gives you information on the quality of your: broadband internet connection streaming media performance voice and video applications performance online gaming performance It determines this by 3 factors; your ping, jitter and packet loss. Once the test has completed it gives your connection a 'grade' on it's performance for all the factors I pointed out in the bullet-points. PingTest Just thought I should mention it, I think it's good for people like me who want to know how good my connection will be for gaming etc.

Damjan
You should reconsider the fact that im running this test to New Zealand. And i was downloading Heroes, so that is another reason. Since i can't edit out posts, i will do a double post. Still downloading. Yet another test.(this time with paused torrents)

Damjan
if there was any server that's close 50 miles to me,(like the rest of you)i'd win for sure.
WRX22B1998
not sure why, but NZ is recommended even though im in australia :S whatever. i got new net btw too, ADSL2+ but we only get like 7.5mbps. its better than the ~5 i got with cable , but we got 80gb downloads rather than 36gb. and also its $15/month cheaper
TM™
Don't know if it's good or not, but for gaming like CoD:Waw and CoD4 it's always 4 bars, but when my sister or brother uses their PCs at the same time, it's either 2 or 1 lol.

Deji
= my wireless connection on a VERY good day. Plus I've found a spot where it seems to work well. I'm suprised with the result, though...
The Bossman
Surprisingly, my one worked quite well. My connection is a bit error-prone today, so I kept restarting. This is my 3rd restart now I think, will have to try again this evening for the PSN. My first attempt and got an A. BTW, can anyone explain exactly what ping is, and what jitter is. I checked out ping, and it's to do with the reaction time to transfer data over the internet, but I want someone to explain it in an easy way. I think I know the basics of that though. And I have no idea about Jitter. Edited October 20, 2009 by Bateman.

And I have no idea about Jitter. I think it's how long it takes for information to go to the server and back. Jitter is the difference in the amount of ping. That's the easiest way I can explain it. Also if I'm wrong please correct me.

_Ray
Ha, depends on where I connect. NY and LA gave me A every time, Norway and South Africa give me a B or a C.
