Thankyou for notifying us of the problem. Please do not exploit this glitch. We will fix it ASAP. I remind all members that having more than one account is against the rules and will be dealt with severely.
-
You can't just say "I can explain it" then not say anything. PM Chris or a super mod and we'll make sure it gets fixed. Simple as that. If we don't find out, then we'll have to cut off the supply of all money until the situation is rectified. And a reminder to all members that dual accounts are not permitted.

Go on then.

A Chelsea Smile would be from Chelsea, no? That's a part of London.

You shouldn't have to avoid half a city Why choose Glasgow? It must be family connection or something for your dad's job because otherwise you would have the pick of every city in western Europe. Okay maybe Edinburgh is worth a quick look, and you could go to York or Manchester or somewhere exciting. But you could have gone to London, Paris, Berlin or anywhere with craploads of culture and things to do. Yet you choose Glasgow?
-
Glasgow? I can't see any reason why you would want to go there. With no disrespect it's a slum city full of gang culture, rowdy teenagers and run-down housing estates. Think of it as the UK's version of Los Angeles. Scotland's Grove Street. If you want to go to Scotland, get a remote cottage in the highlands or something, don't go to its cities. I mean chances are nothing would happen - it's not as if everybody who goes gets raped - but I could think of a million better places to go on the same island. Try London.

I play bass - currently annoying neighbours with Muse, RHCP, Arctic Monkeys and the Killers.

Stuff when you're tiny doesn't count. A few months ago I was on an army night exercise, and I forgot to wash my knife and fork after I'd eaten, and I dropped it into the clean pot without thinking. It's just a minor thing, but the Sergeant Major went ballistic and demanded the culprit step forward and take responsibility. Since it was my very last exercise with that squad I didn't own up, and never admitted it to anybody.

I meant as an option - an extra page you could look at only if you wanted to see them. Everybody would see what they see now, but if you want to view thumbnails, then you can. Eg I want to be able to browse the entire car database to look for, say, a nice sports car to install. I don't have anything specific in mind, so reading the titles isn't the easiest way to find them. There are going to be loads of cars that I don't recognise the name of that would be ideal, and I would only spot them by seeing their thumbnails.
-
Compile = put it all together I just mean put them all in a zip (or rar) and add a Readme file (instructions). Or do whatever else you have to do to make it ready for other people to download. I'm not sure what our upload size limit is, but it should be pretty big. Might be able to get it increased if you tell me how big the zip file is.

He means can we separate auto-install mods (such as GGMM or VCMM or just exes) from the manual-install mods. That's a good idea, although they don't need new categories, just an icon and the ability to filter them in or out. My suggestions have been a thumbnail gallery view (so you can pick a car by the way it looks, rather than its name) and a search box at the top of each category (like in a subforum here) to quickly find something in that category.

We're both at the same university now, but we first met through TGTAP.
-
We're not exactly gone, but we just can't devote enough of the manpower that the forum needs/deserves, hence bringing more members on to the team.

Didn't twist anything? Just commented that we don't have any invisible posts here (usually), so that doesn't affect the post count. Then I said I would have expected you to know that as a staff member. Would be a valid example on another forum though. This is a good conversation - we're trying to come to a conclusion or compromise as to whether the post ID number is a measure of posts better than the post count. Bringing personal things into this is a big mistake, so I'll ignore your above comments. The post count is the official measure of the number of posts on the forum, pretty straightforward. Yes, the post ID number is a way you can see how many posts have been created on the forum ever, but that includes so many shit posts that don't exist any more (merged or fully deleted) or just in the trash can or ffag. Those are not included in the forum post count because we don't want to count them. You can count them and take note of the number as you wish, but they are no milestones as far as Same with user IDs. We very rarely delete members any more (just ban them), but from when that practise still occured there is a defecit in the number of members that exist to the number of members that have ever been created. Again, we count the first one for the same reasons - it is the number of members we have on the forum. However, this DOES include banned members, because they have obviously mostly contibuted at least some posts, so they have to exist for everything to work properly.

WTF? 202,206 IS 2,206 posts away from 200,000... what's the problem there? (read my previous post cos I edited it)
-
He meant 202,000 is closer to 250,000 than 200,000 is to 250,000. You meant 202,000 is closer to 200,000 than 250,000. We are at 200,079 posts NOT 202,000. "Technically" 202,000 posts have been created on TGTAP forums. That is not something we measure because it counts all the things we don't want to count. The post count is the number of posts we have - that is the number on the front of the forums for a reason, because that is what we choose to measure. This is nothing to do with a point of view - we are counting the number of posts (which is the post count nicely placed on the front of the forums). We aren't counting post ID numbers which you have to look at a URL to find out, because that's a totally different thing. If a spammer makes a spam post - advertising viagra or something - should we count that towards our forum total? It counts towards the post ID number, because that HAS to be unique for the database to actually work properly. It doesn't count towards the post count because it isn't something we value at all. As a forum, not my opinion. Oh and if you had read the moderators handbooks (which you should do since you're a mod) you would know we don't use invisible/unapproved posts.
-
So you want to count every post that has been made, every post in the trash can, every post in forum fun and game, every post that has been merged into another and every post that has been completely deleted? That's a stupid way of counting. The forum post count shows how many posts are on the forum - that is what we count. That number is 200,000 for a reason, and that is because there are 200,000 legitimate posts on the forum. You know we don't use approval for posts/topics, and there aren't any atm that are invisible. How is one member coming and spamming the hell out of here, then all his posts being deleted worth counting?
-
We never count with ID numbers, as they contain loads of massive inaccuracies and holes big enough to drive a truck through. A post ID number is generated for every post and topic made, whether it is useful or not, bumped or not, a double post or not, deleted or not. They are never reused. The total post count is the actual count of posts that are in current circulation, and that number can go up and down. "We have just over 200,000 posts on the forum", as opposed to "over 202,000 post ID numbers have been generated".

Not sure if I agree TFY. If a topic exists which is talking about the exact same thing as you are, and you have a useful addition to make, then a bump is fine. No point making two separate topics on exactly the same thing. Like this guy did here. If your reply is useless like "yeah i think thats good too" then DON'T reply. If you have a new question to ask, then you may as well make a new topic. If the question has been asked before but nobody answered, you can bump that topic.

Broke my left on my 5th birthday, and my right when I was 15. That made... certain tasks... more difficult - but I learned to do them with my left hand. When I got the pot taken off, the surgeon guy grabbed my wrist and tried to bend it really hard, to prove that it was actually in one piece. Fucking horrible experience. My arm STILL feels weird from that moment.
