You dont use notepad to edit an IMG file You need IMG Tool

Good question, but I believe this is hardcoded into the game, since it changes a lot depending on your stats. The starting speed wouldn't be a changeable value because it doesn't change, like different cars all have different speeds, so it gets them from a list.

"Can't get it to work" isn't the most helpful description. What goes wrong? What can't you do? Is there something you can't find? Is there an error message? What don't you understand? If it installs okay, what shows up in the game? Does it crash? Go through the steps on the first page of this topic, and tell us how far you get so that we can figure out what the problem is, so that we can help you get it to work.

A bright red tie. Way to go with the billie-joe armstrong comparison.

Don't worry, of course I am.

*applauds* Although perhaps I wouldn't complain if other people did that, but either way its inappropriate imo. Still, if Chris says they stay then they do.

Two gay brothers? That's ominous. I happen to know of a pair of gay twins from round here, they're total opposites too (one butch, one camp).

C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\Models\gta3.img You don't look at it using a browser, you need an IMG Tool.

The Internet is free, but access to it is not. A different take on the conspiracy theories I suppose.

I never really think about what I wear or whatever, and again no idea what stereotype I'd fit into. Always got that old backup one though... Music: Muse, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alexisonfire, Green Day, Enter Shikari, Lostprophets, My Chemical Romance, The Killers, The Who, The Automatic, The Darkness, some lighter stuff (Sting, REM, Queen (!), Moby, Lynyrd Skynyrd), then some slightly more clubby stuff (Prodigy, Jamiroquai, Fatboy Slim). I absolutely hate R&B, and find the heaviest/fastest rock kinda boring. Clothes: Dark jeans and t-shirt on most days, shirt on a night out. I wear brown 'fashionable' shoes (how else to describe?) rather than trainers. I wear a suit/tie at work, and of course full camoflage 95 and army boots when on exercise, with Kevlar helmet and webbing. Sometimes wear that to the shops for a laugh, and count the number of salutes I receive. I hate hoodies for some reason though, never understood why. Hobbies: As you can probably guess, mainly computer stuff. I work full time at the moment so its mostly useful computing I'm interested in, rather than gaming and stuff. For the record, this website counts as a useful application. I also play badminton and I do some range shooting (with the ol' SA80), and regularly take part in overnight exercises and stuff. I used to do quite a bit of running, mostly crosscountry (team captain), until my knees started f*cking up - they've been recovering for a few years and I'm getting back into it a bit. Of course the obvious generic "hanging out with friends" and "playing GTA" etc.

A fiscal year is a 12-month period used for calculating annual statements for a business. All budgets are worked out annually, so "this year we will spend $xxx on this and $xxx on that". Every company has to make its financial statements and budgets and intentions public, which is exactly what the Investor Relations site is for. The fiscal year is just when that company decides to have these budgets and statements starting and finishing from. Here, Rockstar have decided that GTA IV won't be launched in fiscal year 2007, it will be launched in fiscal year 2008 instead. Rockstar decided to start their fiscal year every 31st October. EDIT: They have said GTA IV will be released in the "second quarter of fiscal year 2008" which means February, March or April.
-
That's just the way things go unfortunately. Just be glad they don't rush it Don't call Rockstar idiots. Do you reckon you could make a better game? They're just delaying it for a few weeks or a couple of months to make sure it's good enough - if you've been waiting years than a few weeks won't make any difference. A fiscal year is just the financial year of the company, where they work out their budget. Eg "in fiscal year 2007 we can spend $50m on making games". Rockstar's fiscal year ends 31st October, so they've pushed GTA IV back to the next fiscal year so it shows up in next year's books.

Today, Rockstar Games published a press release detailing that the launch for Grand Theft Auto IV has been pushed back from October this year. It is now scheduled for release in the second quarter of fiscal year 2008 which begins on October 31st 2007 for Rockstar. We are looking at a delay of a few months for the game, somewhere between February and April. From the press release: Strauss Zelnick, Chairman of Take-Two, stated: Take-Two are hosting a 20-minute conference-call tonight at 5:30 pm Eastern Time to discuss these developments, accessible by dialing (877) 407-0984 or (201) 689-8577. A listen-only version will be available live online at http://ir.take2games.com, and a replay available online afterwards. Whilst it is disappointing not to see GTA IV for a few more months, I'm glad that Rockstar are putting their efforts into making this game the best they can, and that they have the guts to delay the launch even just a couple of months away. The full press release can be read here.

Go to the Models folder in C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas and find gta3.img - uncheck the read only of that file instead of the entire Rockstar Games folder.

As discussed in the San Andreas Modding Guide, mods are made by skilled members of the community. Anybody could try to make a mod, and a lot of people edit/create vehicles, but one such as you describe would require a team of experienced and highly-skilled designers and coders. In other words, unless you already know exactly how you would do this (not just what you want to do) then you won't get anywhere. It's harsh but it's true - I've been there. Several similar mods already exist, which puts Liberty City in GTASA.

GTW We got there first.

Shouldn't have to justify this, and this isn't even the right place to do it, but it appears that it is necessary. The description for the warzone: That means you can state disagreements, even personal ones, and try and resolve disputes. This exists not for fun but to help solve the problems and ease conflicts. Now usually discussions are let run their course - some people just let off steam, some people hate other people, some people never agree - but they move on and get on with it. After 28 pages of arguing (most of it acceptable), this has gone that bit too far, so I exacted two temporary restrictions (topic lock and 12-hour post suspensions for Jace and ps3player) to stop the argument (and to stop it being carried on elsewhere) and recorded it in your warn logs. The following quotes (all from THIS page) are not representative of what should be here:

Okay I've had enough of this constant arguing. Topic closed until people learn to behave a bit more maturely. Warnings to be handed out.

1) This forum is NOT for posting anything about the GTA games. If you break this rule you will be shot. Please go to the main forums page and scroll down further, you'll see the GTA forums there. Thank you. 2) Buy San Andreas like everybody else - why should WE pay for YOU to get a free game? We shouldn't.

Go to the countries list and pick Portugal to show up all the members who have a Portugal flag. I count 9 at the moment.

People who you knew in real life first don't count in this. We are talking about people who you met on TGTAP then met in real life later. As Chris said, we've met up a couple of times because of TGTAP and because we're heading to the same uni (also because of tgtap)
-
There have been many many topics about this. The store will not work until an update is made. That is up to the people who make the store, not TGTAP and not IPB. We will let everybody know when it works again. Topic closed.

Yeah so did I like a decade ago! Yeah so did I like a decade ago! Very embarrassing.
-
Yeah that happens too. One of my closest friends is actually scared of being seen with me because he doesn't want to be perceived as gay, and he really hates the thought of sharing a room or whatever.

Haha that's an awesome story @Bear: I get that all the time. When I tell people, they usually say "well as long as you don't try it on with me then I'm okay with it" - I'm not sure whether they think they're really attractive or whether they just assume that I'm so desperate I'll try my luck with ANY guy. It's like a guy that likes brunettes, telling a brunette, and she assumes that he likes EVERY woman with brown hair EVER. @Llama: I'm very picky. Very picky indeed. @Bear: +Rep
