Not in a bad way though What a stupid comment, of course you are. Right so British isn't European? You mean continental Europeans.

There is NOTHING wrong with nVidia cards, many people just prefer ATI over nVidia, many the other way round. I have a 64mb integrated Intel graphics card in my laptop, alongside a 2.6GHz Celeron and 512mb RAM. It runs San Andreas fine on low settings. Anything less than that will bring you some problems, and don't try to run it on high performance settings either, and if its too slow turn the frame limiter off.

Well if all you want is a nice hotel, and don't want the culture, don't bother. Go somewhere hot if you want that, like Italy. Go somewhere with nice countryside, like Italy. Go somewhere with nice food, like Italy. Go somewhere with a rich yet not too invasive culture, like Italy. Claudia can come to YOU, why should you go to her?

This site is NOT InvisionFree. This site is a PAID version of Invision Power Board, hosted on its own server. Invision Free forums are usually set up within ten minutes, and all the so-called "webmaster" has done is choose a name, choose a skin and setup some forums. We have been clogged up with hundreds of these, so we don't allow them anymore. You can only advertise sites if you really have put your back into making them, which is how all sites should be made imo. I agree the only way to make a site successful is by advertising it, but you can do that through your signature, or if you have more than 30 posts you can advertise GTA sites in the webring, so long as they are not invisionfree.

If you keep your router on all the time, it doesn't fetch a new IP. Some ISPs will force you to though by resetting your connection for a split second now and then. And Mästêrchíëf, hope we've solved the problem for you.
-
Dialup also uses random IP addresses. You'd only have your own if you're expected to be online all the time, if the ISP expects all its customers to be online all its time, or if you need to be online all the time with the same IP (eg a server). I'll check the status of IPs similar to yours. If we have a reoccurrence of bad members they'll just be banned again i'm afraid.

He means if your account was lost in the process of changing your member number. We could easily let you have that account, on top of your number 11 one, but to change your member number TO 1337, we'd have to replace every single one of your posts in the database. That's hard, risky, and would take hours. Plus if we had to back up we'd have to do it again. Anybody linking to any of your profiles would also receive an error. So yeah, risky (if we broke things), and would take aaages.

He SAID: "If you live in the UK (or where they write the date like dd/mm/yy)" 04/05/06 = 4th May 2006 In the US, its mm/dd/yy which is just weird.

We did have an SQL error on the forums this morning, but it's fixed now. Apologies for the downtime.

Yeah, if you have DSL (broadband) you often have a dynamic IP, which just means every time you connect (turn on your router) it picks up a random IP address from a set of them (pool) that your ISP owns. That way they don't have to own one IP for every single one of its customers, they can share them since they won't all be on at once. We may ban one IP from one person, but if someone else uses the same IP from the same pool (ie if they're in the same town) they'll be banned for that visit too.

Agreed. How do you think I felt? It got to the casino missions where you have to date that cop girl to get access or whatever. I never played beyond that. Guess why. I could stand dating one for a mission, thats bearable, but not having to repeatedly date a girl for ages to progress, and certainly not the ten girls he had (or whatever). Then again I'd rather date a girl ingame than real life Girlfriends in GTA 4, NO!

Depression, isn't it just a lack of good things happening? And yeah Wheelman, I'd prefer it if you didn't use the word "FAGS"

That usually means you're using a banned account, or your account has been suspended. I'll check into it.

You get a lot for your money with GTA games - you get a racing game, 3rd Person Shooter, Roleplaying game, flight simulator, shooting game, arcade games, lifestyle, fashion, cars etc etc etc It can't do ALL of these things to the best of their potential. NFS is always gonna have better races, PGR will always have better quality vehicle graphics, The Sims will always have more lifelike activities. The list goes on. The thing with GTA is that it DOES have a little bit of everything, and there is simply so much to do. I know loads of people that play GTA regularly, and do different things each time. One time I might be in a cop chase, the next shooting people, the next leisurely driving around the countryside. With other games, you don't get that level of choice and freedom. We used to have to do one thing in one game, then play a different game to have a different experience. GTA offers that all in one. sims=crap, gta=cool QED

Make sure they're on the same workgroup, have different IP addresses on the same subnet, and they both access the internet through the same default gateway on your WLAN router. Then ping them to see if they can reach each other, then set up file sharing so it all works properly.

LEFT hand man It's not your hand that matters, you're standing on the right hand side of the Don

I do know what you mean, the whole point of the GTA games so far has been a mick-take of American culture. Don't forget they are British-made games. Are cities like London funny enough?

A problem with the board statistics?
Gerard replied to Jezz Torrent's topic in Suggestions / Help / Bug Reporting
If this is getting into a debate over forum systems.... The thing with phpBB is that its really simple, you just do what you need to do and get outta there. From an admin or mods point or view its different, harder to work with and less chance to customise, but this doesn't affect the end user unless a site is trying to be good by how many modificatons its got installed. vB is just boring to the end user, and navigation (such as editing your profile) takes a while. You need more clicks to get places. In IPB, one click takes you to my controls, the next click takes you to any setting you want to change. Free hosted forums are often crap because the owner has installed a shitty red skin and post entirely in AlTeRnAtInG cApItAlS. noobs. Free forums integrated into CMS systems like phpNuke and e107 are usually simple, do their job, thats it. Nothing special, pretty much no room for expansion, and not really focussed on by the dev team. We love IPB here -
It really wouldn't They were smaller areas, and top-down, crap missions (compared to SA), no environment interactivity, and no enterable buildings.

Its more than 50 posts, actually

I agree with Jezz, I don't like vB. There's just something about it that looks unprofessional, reminds me of like nuke or something. The way IPB is mapped out is much more logical, and much better. The ACP looks a load better, and the general forum feels more robust and reliable. You know where you're going with IPB. Yes, mods are easier to install on vB but its very gimmiky, wheras IPB is very functional. I may be being very vague, but vB does put me off being really attracted to a site. Go IPB. -
Members with more than 50 posts can change their member title in Profile Settings. Its the top setting - 'Custom member title'. If you don't or can't change your member title, or leave it blank, your rank goes there instead. Please be aware that rank is separate to user group, mods and admins still have ranks. Here is the complete ranks list, along with the number of posts you need, and the number of pips you get: Zero - 0 Nobody Special - 1 Shoplifter - 15 Vandal - 30 Pickpocket - 50 (1 pip) Scam Artist - 75 Trickster - 100 Numbers Runner - 125 Hustler - 150 (2 pips) Bully - 175 Riff-Raff - 200 Outlaw - 225 Thug - 250 (3 pips) Drop Man - 275 Goon - 300 Ex-Con - 325 Felon - 350 (4 pips) Bag Man - 375 Wiseguy - 400 Wheelman - 425 Hired Muscle - 450 (5 pips) Hatchetman - 475 Headhunter - 500 Enforcer - 525 Ronin - 550 (6 pips) Fixer - 575 Hitman - 600 Associate - 625 Butcher - 650 (7 pips) Cleaner - 675 Assassin - 700 Consigliere - 750 Made Man - 800 (8 pips) Right-Hand Man - 900 Executioner - 1000 Lieutenant - 1250 Underboss - 1500 (9 pips) Capo - 1750 Boss - 2000 Don - 5000 (10 pips) Godfather - 10000

They are "pips", showing your "rank" on the forums, based on how many posts you have. Your rank is also shown by the text just above the pips unless you change your member title. For example, you have 501 posts. Members who reach 500 posts attain the rank "Headhunter", and have 5 pips. You actually have 5 pips when you reach 450 posts (Hired Muscle) but your rank changes more often than the number of pips. You have changed your member title to "The Flow", if you hadn't done that it would show your rank name. I have 894 posts, and that is "Made Man" at 800 posts with 8 pips. When I reach 900 I'll still have 8 pips but change to the "Right-Hand Man" rank. My rank name doesn't show because I have changed my member title to "Invision Power Lord". Your rank actually makes no difference to anything else. You don't get any extra rights or privileges based on your rank, its simply a way of expressing post count. Bit useless really, but we could adapt it to allow people of a higher rank to have access to more things. For example, if we had the blogs installed, only people with a rank of "Trickster" (100 posts) or higher could create a blog. Things like that are always possible, but we don't do anything like that now. Hope that clears things up. Would you like us to list all the ranks we have?
