  1. 10 stars: Mr.T shows up in a tank and a snickers bar REPHRASED FOR MADDOG89: 10 stars: Mr.T shows up in a tank, pelting you with snickers bars. Happy?
  2. Oh!!!! Is it like one core can run one program dedicated, and one another, etc? So like, on my dual core, if i ran a single-core compatible game, my OS will run on one, and the game on the other?
  3. you're right about it not being designed for gaming, but that;s probably what they say because it's so overly powerfull and expensive that they don't market it to gamers. I don't know unless tilly sends me them to find out Jace, that's disturbing, it's very similar, except mine doesn't have that side-grill it has two fans there instead, and I've taken the annoying opening-front off as well. In any case, it sort of looks like a bike-engine and it's always running very cool so I'm happy!
  4. Ah, you've got a point, but i'd like the challenge, or at least, the OPTION of the challenge, surely they can have a "car realism" slider as well?
  5. Silberio, you seem to be assuming that there is only one other planet in the universe. How about, MANY planets with life like ours, and MANY MORE planets with life different than ours. Anonymous, "And buddy, you don't have to be a "complex life form" to have a soul." - yeah I know, that's what I said, unless you were talking to the other guy. "Please do, because I'd rather not bring religion into a scientific discussion. The two never mix well and should be kept away from each other in discussions as much as possible." - That's what you think, but our science is flawed, religion often tries to explain what science does not, somewhere between the two is probably more reasonable to explain things (for example, miracles, such as somebody with healing powers, may be explained by religion (kind of), but not by science, doesn't mean the religous view is necessarily right, but at least they attempt to explain it rather than just deny it and run away like scienctists would). And also, many of these "alien" sigthtings (not so much UFO sightings) might be spiritual experiences, rather than normal physical experiences, that's why current science can't prove them. Back on topic, I honestly believe "flying saucers" are just various forms of US test ships. Think about it, they took the technology from the nazis - during the second world war, many of these ships were spotted, and indeed have helped allied forces. Then, only after the war did the UFO sightings become frequence. First public crash, in 1947 at Roswell - the craft was recovered by police and quickly taken by the US military. Subsequently the 50s were a top time for UFO sightings of flying saucers. People believed it was aliens, yes, and that's fine by them because the masses didn't suspect the military, perhaps it was a technology that could never quite cut it, or that led to technologies far too powerfull to allow any other government to get wind of and subsequently send spies. In any case, I firmly believe that's what most UFOs are, the evidence is there, it's a simple and logical explanation that doesn't require any "leap of faith".
  6. I'll have to have a look at ReactOS! Well I run a computer and a laptop. The computer is for games and backup, the laptop is for the internet and work. Both are on WinXP. The reason I do this is because, if you never connect the internet to your computer, it's amazing just how fast your PC boots upto winxp on a decent machine, so it really is just a pure gaming machine. The laptop is slower, and obviously with firewalls and such it takes ages to bootup, so I only run the net on this one. Pretty simple, and saves a lot of hassle. Plus the laptop is cheap to replace if it breaks or something because of hackers and plus you can sit anywhere with it!
  7. 1.lol! Well, personally I think almost everything you can think of will exist out there somewhere. For example humans with dog-heads: It might seem wierd to us but we'd seem wierd to them if you know what I mean. I'm sure, therefore, that both "complex" and non-complex UFOs exist out there. 2.Every living thing has a soul, that's what life is (in my own religous views), so yes. As to heaven and hell, well lets just say, every soul has its own pre-determined destiny. Actually I'm going to go start a thread on souls...
  8. In terms of car damage, it should be as realistic as possible in my opinion. In terms of bullet/knife/baseball bat etc damage - well, in terms of other people, yes it should be fully realistic. Hit them in the face with a bat, they get a bruise, in the arm, they get a broken arm. Shoot them in the arm, they can't use that arm; in the leg, they limp; in the chest, they die. However for your character, I think you should be able to scale the difficulty level which will ONLY affect the damage the character takes (and make it scaleable throughout the game, like in Oblivion) from pretty unrealistic (ie: where it is now for SA) to life-realistic (which would make you the same as the other characters in the game, ie: very difficult but actually realistic).
  9. Seems they've moved the site here, and lost the GTAIV mockery! http://www.ea.com/simpsons/ Must have been threatened by someone so they decided to shut it down and started up this new one with a new name and different "coming soon". Probably thought of all the parents and/or politicians that would complain if a game made primarily for kids (which is what simpsons games usually are, even tho mostly adults play them probably) has connotations with a massive violent gang game like GTAIV. But hey, as long as the game isn't altered, who cares about the marketing?
  10. Why? I don't claim to be any kind of knowledge on CPUs, but I thought two cores meant double the pace? four cores quadruple the pace, etc...?
  11. Well somebody is a mister rich-pants!!!!! That is one serious card, and you have two of them?? Nah, I don't believe you! It's a Jeantech Nix: http://jeantech.com/nix.htm (Mine looks a lot blacker, glossier, and better than the poor-quality picture, and it's ultra-blue lights everywhere bling!
  12. The only reason we're all so similar is because we all come from the same amoeaba that created life on earth, if I remember correctly. But our science is only limited to what we can observe, physics (trust me, i studied it for years) is for a lot part based on twisting the fact to fit the theory, they will "invent" "particles" of different kinds, such as anti-matter, to explain what the current science fails to explain. But anyway, it means that our entire science is based on the assumption that every form of life everywhere can only exist in the form it developed on earth. The whole point of life is that it learns, adapts --> EVOLVES. That means it adapts to circumstance, even if we don't have any current examples of different forms of life. By the way, bacteria has been found existing in space (seriously, think it was attached to a dust cloud of some kind), which is clearly not something any life on earth could do.
  13. hahaha, i wish every problem was that simple!!! Why don't you just call the activation number instead of trying to do it online? Are we talking about activation here? I just installed a fresh copy of OEM windows and I've had no problems in getting it booted up, I can access windows, install drivers, everything, for 30 days until I activate it; all without ever plugging the internet into it. Don't quite understand what you mean.
  14. Nononononononono lol Goto http://www.saveyoutube.com/ Then copy and paste in the exact address address of the youtube video you want, click download, then save it as video.flv (you can call it something other than video, but the extension has to be .flv). To play .flv videos, you need a flash video player, which you can download from here: http://applian.com/flvplayer/download_flv_...php?src=Martijn Simple as that!
  15. It's working now!! WOO Thanks tons Chris!!!! Appreciate it man.
  16. It still isn't working Same error
  17. Yes! Help! Okay, I somehow managed to get on the site using a different anonymous-proxy site, and it lets me log in (woo!) But my problem is not solved. It doesn't make sense that all of a sudden I can't access the site (it just comes up with that error all the time) and the day after I can read posts using proxify.com, all of a sudden that doesn't work anymore! But at least I can kind of get on the site now, just it's a little slow using this no-proxy thing (whatever it does!) and I'd like to get to the bottom of it, so please please help if you can. I tried emailing the moderator and Chris but the emails didn't seem to send, I dunno, so if a mod can help I'd be grateful! Thanks for any help people UPDATE: Right, now proxify is letting me on, must have been too many people on it or something! Still can't get on normally tho
  18. Ah, but, there's always eBay I'm sure it'd be cheaper through there
  19. That's pretty cool! (and cheeky of them!) .. I loved hit'n'run, gonna have to re-play that sometime, so is there no information on this latest game?
  20. I think the last three posts were meant to be in the "should i buy an XBOX360 or PS3" thread...
  21. chris82, "Actually, unless you're a complete f***ing retard and get IDE hard drives, you really don't have to worry about jumpers." - I was talking about the jumpers where you connect the power switch, reset switch, power LED, and HDD led to the motherboard, actually. "And I built my computer without static protection or anything." - so did I, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't consider it. "What? That's stupid, sellers sometimes leave out important information and if the PC breaks, you'll be shit out of luck. Just build a PC, that way all your parts have guaranteed warranties and you'll know how to fix problems, replace parts, etc..." - That's why you need to be smart when looking at what they offer, but just the same, components usually break AFTER warranty and can you honestly say you've kept all the important documentation of warranty for the parts you've put in your PC? Let's face it, when a part breaks, it's an excuse to sell it on ebay and upgrade your PC. But like I said, if he wants to save money, buying a full-made system from ebay is the option, you'll pay twice as much buying components and building it yourself.
  22. Mpilk, Jace, yeah it's a: Intel Core 2 Duo 6700 @ 2.66GHz ASUS P5N32-SLI SE DELUXE Motherboard 2GB RAM XFX 7900GTX 512MB New case with 4 BLUE LED fans (CPU never goes above 40C) It is pretty good, I don't run the net on it anymore so it's a pure gaming machine, boots up fully to win xp in about 30 seconds and boots games probably quicker than a PS2 or 3! Can almost run Oblivion in highest graphics as well! Oh, can you buy a HDD for the X360 (you know, like upgrade) it if you just buy the standard console with no HDD?
  23. What you've got to remember is that no PS3 games (that I'm aware of) have been released on PC yet. The reason I came up with the specs was looking at the specs of the Xbox360 and PS3. XBOX has 3 cores running at 3.2GHz, hence why I said at least a dual core. And the PS3 has (I think) 7 cores, so surely a quad or even octo core (I think they'll be around soon) might be reccomended for top graphics. We are talking about PCs in a year here, and a core2 duo isn't going to be so high-end in a year when we probably have the octo (eight) core CPUs out. Quad-cores are only expensive because they've just been released.
