I'll flip a coin. Heads, I rebuild my original player (looks a lot like me 20 years ago). Tails, I duplicate my little blonde from "Urbz" & go robo-slutty. It's like my kid's Barbies, I payed for it & I'll play w/ it any way I want!

Since it's a recent re-install, just uninstall, defrag & install again. This is probably the easiest way to fix your problem.

fatalgamer - Looks workable, would add to the game. The ability to make calls on the cell phone has been mentioned in several magazine articles (like Official Xbox mag).

If that's the problem, you did it wrong..... But seriously Finest, you didn't mention if you had installed any mods before you had a problem or if the game was working before. Another cause is a glitched mod or an issue w/ a DATA edit. MrLlamaLlama is probably on the right track, look at the top of any SA modding page for DOWNGRADER topic.

The extremely low population means an extremely lower chance of it being targeted by terrorists. Extremely lower chance of any type of crime including murder, rape, and theft. Extremely lower chance of dealing with assholes who can't drive for shit. I'd mention lower chances of finding love but we're all nerds here. Then again, if a serial killer shows up, you have a higher chance of being one of his victims simply because of the low population. But then again, due to the low population, there is less of a chance of a serial killer actually emerging in the population. If one does show up, they'll be identified sooner. Iraq - We can't just walk out & leave the job half done or ti will just revert back to a terrorist haven. 9/11 made us a little crazy like that & we're in NO hurry to repeat it. The US has fallen into the role of looking after a lot of problems in the world, that hardly makes us "dangerous", unless you're planning something involving a dirty bomb or sarin gas. Then we would have a problem. OUTLAW HISTORY LESSON - (Uncle Outlaw remembers) All through the '80s we couldn't turn on a TV in the US without seeing some celebrity telling us we had to help the poor starving masses in Africa. So we cared, sent money, donated time & got food to Africa. The problem was the food never got to the people that needed it, but instead was hoarded by petty warlords or sold off by crooked bureaucrats. We had to send in the US Army just to get the food to the people, especially in Somalia. It was as bad as the insurgent attacks we have to deal w/ in Iraq. When the blackhawks were shoot down over Mogodishu & the crews' murdered bodies were dragged through the streets naked by local versions of crack heads (yes, they were on narcotics) I actually cried. All these US soldiers were trying to do was feed starving people. Images I will never forget. Call me a racist prick, but Somalia is just the kind of place the US is trying to keep Iraq from becoming. You can add Somalia to the list of candidates for "most dangerous nation". -
After you complete the carlot missions in SF, you get a call that there are street races. Go to the checkered flag icon in LV & look for "Las Venturas Ringaround", that one uses a Turismo.

Yeah, it's already out there. Don't let that discourage you, you might find something new, just have a source. GTA (up until GTA4) has been about game play & built to run decently on current consoles, SA was R*'s last major PS2 title. SR was one of the first titles made for the X360 & took full advantage of the better graphics that came w/ it. The result was that as good as SA looked, SR looked better. Just a side note, as of last weekend SR was still $30 (US) at Wal Mart. MiamiViceCity - If you can find SR used for $20, it'll pass a little time while you're waiting for GTA4. If you're into GTA you should like it.

There should be an "A" by the construction site on your map, no phone call. Are you running any script mods? The only other thing I can think of is the game is glitched & you need to re-install it.

If you know what language you're in, go into the TEXT folder of DATA, move it into a temp folder (just make a new folder) & rename AMERICAN.GXT to that language (also copy that one to the temp folder first).

"25 to Life" just showed up, $7 total cost for new sealed box. I'll play around w/ it if I can get my machine to load it. Still having issues w/ it. Also got "Black" for PS2, played first level. Not bad for under $5.

You need to use a closed car other that ambulance/firetruck/police/taxi in decent condition.

What these guys are telling you is that "drift" isn't in the car, that's just a model. To get drift you need to edit HANDLING.CFG in your DATA folder. This kind of edit has given me a tank that does 140 MPH & power slides in GTA3, VC & SA (BIG vigilante bonuses).

I've used some of JVT's cars, liked them. I don't recall any UNHANDLED EXCEPTION problems w/ JVT cars. Has a nice FnF Supra.

Considering the cost involved, they would be better off just sticking w/ PC format & use graphics comparable to GTA SA. R* could sell the games on line & for users w/ high end machines include a code to down load a patch to upgrade them.

I've seen those, but I thought they were just patches of LC/VC set in Bone county. This one even seemed to have the right mini-map & names of the areas of LC. Just for the sake of discussion, the best case would be a mod that places LC (w/ missions & details) just east of LV & VC just east of LS (like LC). I'm thinking a machine that runs SA decently should support this. Didn't mean to hijack your topic, just throwing that out as an idea for further versions of your mod.

Penguins doing drive-bys....... To live in, Columbia hits pretty close to the top, but that's based on what I've seen in the news. Silberio has said Chile is a little rough, too. I suppose any country that doesn't recognize basic human rights would be bad as their law enforcement would be selective at best. As a nation (as Chris brought up) it's a toss up between Iran & North Korea, but the worst isn't even a nation. It's terrorist groups like Al Qeuda (spelling?) that aren't in any one place but have weapons & a seemingly endless supply of people who are willing to die for their cause. Antarctica doesn't sound so bad, all of the sudden. -
You'd think I would have noticed that when I played LCS. This is probably the result of a line in the mission script like the bullet proof Patriot in GTA3. I'd say try to save that firetruck for future missions. Since you're using the firetruck to destroy other cars R* may have decided to give the player a little bit of help to complete the mission. I know this topic is old & got bumped, but surprisingly, there are still people just getting the game. We still have to watch for spoilers in GTA3.
