Optional strategy - Your first order in any GTA (GTA3 on up) is get to your side work. You get things like more armor/health, infinite run & best of all, FIREPROOF! (except GTA3, there you get a flame thrower at your save houses). Before you take the mission, get your "firefighter" mission out of the way. Then visit the roof of AM Petroleum Company (across the street form Joey's garage, GTA3) for the flame thrower. You're fireproof, they're not, do the math. That "stylish" outfit is one of my favorites.

In VCS I did run a drug empire for Christ's sake! But seriously... R* has established a president for drugs. JT could make a big deal out of it in GTA4, but then he'd also have to explain why it's a big deal now but in the games before. He's a jackass, so expect it anyway. In R*'s defense the games are based on being a serious felon & part of that is the drug trade. On top of that, they left out key details on making a deal so if anyone tried...BUSTED!! As long as you can keep it in the context of being just a video game, drugs are no bigger an issue than killing people, hookers or stealing cars. In Scarface I'm doing quite well in the "coke business" Do this stuff in real like, you're gonna have problems.

Short version for those who don't want to go to the link. This happens 2 years before Tommy hits VC, Vick ends up in a similar situation & get to take over the city again, for the first time. You can swim & there is a ton of side work to keep you busy. PSP has multi-player, PS2 has more unique stunts & rampages. The biggest advantage of the PS2 version is the "Super Mario" glitch that will get you past the roadblocks early in the game. When they ported VCS from PSP to PS2, they used the PSP graphics, so the PS2 version looks lousy but the PS2 version released @ $20 (US). It's been out long enough your local game shop should have it cheap, so version is just a matter of what platform you have/prefer.

If I put it here, consider it fair game. Nice work BTW.

One thing I noticed between PC/PS2 was the PC version had more textures, like the trees outside SAPD HQ in LS. They were in the PC version but not in PS2. A low end PC would run slower because of this compared to PS2. I'm here for mods so PC is my obvious choice. Besides, I HATE aiming w/ thumbsticks (PS2). I actually started to like the minigun in VC when I got the PC version & could aim w/ the mouse, same for sniper rifle. That carried over to SA.

Your mamma's so hairy, your daddy said "Damn baby, haven't you done without a Toro long enough!" Look here if you don't get it (it used to be their slogan) - http://www.toro.com/index.html

America's Bomb Vs's Russia's Vaccum bomb
Urbanoutlaw replied to Wheelman101's topic in Members' Lounge
Whole new meaning to "hostile takeover". I suppose someone had the idea of dropping one of these as a prelude to invasion. Life isn't cheap, just in the way. -
Have you tried re-installing your original WEAPON.DAT? The only thing I can think of is that the script mod limits the number of weapons you can carry. What mod is it?

That's just part of the free market system, like MS getting the exclusive content for GTA4. If all the consoles ran all the same games, there wouldn't be much incentive to improve the products. Sony wouldn't see the need to put an N-vidia 7200 video card into the PS3, MS wouldn't have made X-box & 360 so online friendly, & Nintendo Wii would just use a standard controller setup like everybody else. Competition does improve the breed. This is just speculation, but I would expect a Wii version of K&L to come out eventually. This looks like one I'll watch for.

Take my word for it, we want out. But after Saddam, Iraq is totally screwed up, we can't just walk out or we'll just be back in the situation in a few years. The Iraqi people have a lot of work to do to rebuild their own country, things like clean water supply, power generation & schools. They also need to get a decent police force in place. It doesn't help that they have more than their share of heavily armed criminals trying to keep the area lawless. We had to go in & take down their government & now we have to help them to rebuild. In a lot of ways it's no different than Germany or Japan after WWII. Anyway, back to topic. One good thing I remember was people pulling together in the aftermath of the attacks. I think in a way, it brought out the best in us as a nation.

By your question, I take it you're playing on the PSP. Sorry, can't help much on that one, I have the PS2 version & that was the controller I was talking about. If nothing else, keep the bike for practice.

That was an expensive day. Who won & what were they driving?

Never did get clear on why you didn't like VCS, was it anything in particular?

I'll have to find you a nice cake (you know the one!). Hope you had a good birthday!

Script mods are common for the PC GTAs, I'd like to add some of the VCS features to SA & VC. The script is the instructions to how the game is played, defining missions, placing vehicles & weapons, sets rewards, etc. In SA, I've placed weapons & vehicles, changed CJ's starting money & a few little tweaks. They could also be used to edit or even create missions.

America's Bomb Vs's Russia's Vaccum bomb

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/sys...ions/blu-82.htm These even generate a "mushroom" cloud. The US dropped these in Desert Storm. One target was near a British unit who swore "THEY NUKED 'EM, THE BLOODY YANKS NUKED "EM!! As part of Psy-Ops, the US would drop leaflets (in multiple languages) warning that the most powerful conventional bomb in the world will be dropped on their location in 24 hours, & asked if would they like to surrender. After the bombing, another batch of leaflets would be dropped stating they had just been bombed w/ most powerful conventional bomb in the world & asked if they would like to surrender now. The bombs were the size of a VW Microbus & originally used to clear dense jungle for construction units to start building airstrips. BOOM BABY!! -
Agreed. I'd love to get ahold of MAIN.SCR for VCS & pull some of the code out for script mods I want to do in other GTAs. As for playing PS2 games on the PC, that's kind of a gray area from a copyright standpoint. The software you need could be considered warez (see FORUM RULES), just a headsup.

If you can apologize for your comments, then I can accept it. As far as I am concerned, we can just both walk away from this one w/ no hard feelings & we're cool. The attack made us a little crazy & sometimes we get a little sensitive, so forgive me if I came off a little harsh. See you 'round. Another thing I remember (this really sticks out) was watching the queen lead a choir singing "God Bless America". When our whole country was going mad in the days after 9/11 it was like a giant arm around our collective shoulder when we needed it most. Pure class, God save the Queen! For those outside the US, the date (9/11, by local calender system) is also the universal emergency phone number for ambulance/fire/police, 911. Never found out if that was coincidence or intentional.

Time for a bionic thumb! Today I picked up "Alien Disco Safari". That should be worth a laugh.

Just noticed I was on 1986. That was a good year for Tommy V.

This is only a thought, but did you save after using a cheat? When you installed the mods, did you get the data edits right? Remember that in SA, the vehicles listed in HANDLING.CFG have to stay in their original order. Also make sure you don't have duplicate lines in HANDLING.CFG & that the original models were deleted from GTA3.IMG (REPLACE options has issues in some of the IMG editors).

You know what a chasser is! A pig that don't fly straight! And it's off to the Evil Empire (WalMart)!

OT Oh boy have you been in the dark.... Some good news on this (VCS on PC)?

What do you like about Tommy Vercetti?
Urbanoutlaw replied to K_P's topic in General GTAVC Discussion
Your English looks better than a lot of people who grew up w/ it. Tommy? Real simple, they tried to screw him over & he just turned it back on 'em!
