1.8 GB actually, and it wouldn't be that hard. What took up so much in San Andreas was the combination of the staggering amount of audio and and all the models/texture files. The way Rockstar does the maps is very inefficient and shitty. (Not that their maps are shitty, just the way they are made) This is because everything in a GTA game is model. And I mean everything. While some things are easier to detail, using a textured-block type system like in Half-Life 2 in combination with models would be much easier to work with, much faster, and much more flexible. So yeah, using textured blocks for the landscape and only using models for things like cars, people, guns, etc...in combination with good compression and it should be doable.

True, it only took me about a day or two when I played The Getaway. Speaking of games set in London, I think GTA could do a better job of it. It can keep a city pretty authentic and still have a lot of funny things throughout. Anyway I'm sure it will be big, and while I don't have any experience with the RAGE engine, it is owned by Rockstar so an SDK from them will probably happen for the PC.

I think it was late winter/early spring '04, so expect the same time in 2007 for some screenshots and a backstory.

Maybe unplug your keyboard and plug it back in? I had this problem on PS2 so I unplugged the controller and plugged it back in. The problem went away.

Driver 2 is the best of the whole series. After that, it all went down hill. Driver 3 felt jerky and incomplete. Parellel Lines felt like a blantent rip-off of San Andreas. (not that Driv3r wasn't a blatent rip-off of Vice City, but it was even more obvious in PL) I actually enjoyed the first Getaway game, but the second was horrible. I don't know why, but I like the first one a lot better.

I though resolution was a system-wide setting. Themes and backgrounds and all that are individual, but resolution is system-wide. I hate sharing computers, I just have one account on my PC and it always runs at 1280x1024, it just looks good and you can fit a lot on screen. (Which helps when Photoshoppong/Mapping/etc...)

Hm...try re-installing the game. If it works, then try to re-install the mod. If it happens again after you re-install the mod, then don't use the mod.
