  1. Jace - If IE works for you, go with it. I just hate microslop & their philosophy of wanting us buy buy all new soft & hardware every couple of years . Chris's gonna finish the overhaul on time to sort issues w/ Vista if he's not already fighting with it. BTW Chris, good luck with that.
  2. We're on same page for shooting thief.

  3. Greetings to Capetown from the US Midwest.

  4. As of today the US dollar is worth about .7 Euro & .505 British Pound on Yahoo finance. If you're on a budget a used 5500 will save you some, but if you can afford the better cards, get those.
  5. Jace - Thanks about the Mustang. Yeah I almost miss when dinosaurs roamed the highways, big cars tipping the scales at over 5000 lbs. (2.5 metric tons). I think our little buddies, the OPECers miss 'em to. I could do a DB9 or a Jag Silverstone. Righty - I got a buddy that has one, would only sell for insane $$$. I also remember the Shogun, a Festiva (Ford had them built by Kia, subcompact w/ 1 L I-4) that some one gutted & instaled the Tauras SHO drive train in place of the backseat. Ford wanted no part of these things & refused to sell to the outfit making them. They got the parts by buying left over SHOs when dealers cleared out their inventories at the end of the year & cannibalized the cars. Not to be confused w/ Mitsubishi Shogun. If you're interested, look here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Festiva Happy motoring!
  6. That's R-2's (My canary) all time favorite song! When I figured out the trick of parking a car next to the north wall of the Los Santos Airport (GTASA) & climb the wall to get a plane, the first track on the radio was "Free Bird". He couldn't stop singing & whistling.
  7. I got Ferrarris & all GF says is turn off the @#%$@ X-box!
  8. If some one wanted to spend enough time, they could piece together the game downloading bits here & there, not the point. What I'm saying is you could copy the DATA files to a CD & have them on hand if a mod goes wrong, did not mean to imply distribution. It would only be a personal backup copy of files you intend to edit, not the whole game & definitely not to sell. Sorry for the confusion.
  9. hotrodmerc84 - If you're still watching this thread, are the Crown Vic you're trying to install service or civilian models? I know the police car has coplights that are turned on & off, this could be the problem w/ replacing copcar. You may have a similar issue w/ taxis so make sure your replacing them w/ cars made to work as such. The Haitian Voodoo has the same problem because of hydraulics. look for - Ford LTD Crown Victoria Interceptor LAPD '85 by Pumbars, looks & works great. Also makes some really sweet taxis. Hope it helps.
  10. Full point for Righty. Best part of the diesel is better MPG, why diesels caught on in the US. When properly maintained some of the Diesel SUVs & trucks get around 20 MPG.
  11. Lambo - 1 - They're bad boy cars. 2 - Enzo Ferrari was a colossal Dick. (Now I've gone & done it ) Carol Shelby (as in Shelby Cobra) drove for Enzo (late '50s, I think) until he got fed up w/ Enzo's ego & told him he was gonna build the car that kicks Ferrari's ass. The rest is history. Back to topic, they both build beautiful I'll probably never afford outside a video game. I lean towards the Lambo because they just look sinister, especially the late '70s - early '80s models. I'll take mine in black, please.
  12. EvoLuTioN - If 1 hour of full motion video + stereo sound (like TV broadcast) uses around 650 meg.... RUN!!!!! That's like 30 hours of non-stop porn. The phone cops (or whoever enforces your porn laws) will put you under the jail & bring you sunlight in little jars.
  13. ArtSweet said this topic was racist? ???? How? Tommy's just really cool & this topic only asked what people like about him. Not why he's better etc. The only other character mentioned is Claude (GTA 3), & in a positive. If you're a CJ fan, start a topic on why you like CJ (starting a topic is worth $10, just don't spam). I'll even watch for it. And now back to the topic....
  14. I said "might" have to buy from the internet. If you have a game shop or other source nearby you can go there. You mentioned Estonia, but not if in city or on a farm or where in Estonia. Had to look it up to even know where it is. Not giving you a hard time, just a an option. Also , suggest you look for GTASA version 1 (Hot Coffee in tact), way fewer headaches if you mod. You mentioned not using a CRACK, so I presume you're playing on a PC. If not, version doesn't matter. Hope this clears things up & Good Luck.
  15. looks like the '07 Jester is in, nice call Vincent. Although not a vehicle, the parachute would be good. Maybe a sidegame like base jumping?
  16. You might have to resort to the internet unless you have access to a game shop. Try e-bay.
  17. Good to have freinds

  18. Apology for the double post, I wanted to at least scan the thread before I said anything else. I got my copy (PC) for christmas. Immersed myself in it & lots of money, fast. The game gets high marks for concept, gameplay, following the movie, etc. But VU gets no points for the coding or tech support. here's why - Video - The graphics are on par to Vice City but calls for a minimum Ge-force 5500 & suggested 6800. WTF!?!? I have a 5500 w/ 256 meg & it's barely playable. The models all look low poly, but it ddddrrraaagggsss. Controls - constantly re-set themselves to default. This one really pissed me off! Bought Items disappear from mansion - Have to pay to place them, that money's gone. Tech Support - showed no interest in fixing problems, said things like don't alter the control. "Dan" at VU claimed they tested the game on over thirty (yeah, 30) different computers & they couldn't go to the trouble to account for all the variations of Game pads, Video cards & Audio Cards. Saved his E-mails somewhere. The one patch they released only seemed to make it worse. At 75-80% complete I had to take a break from this one, not holding my breath for a new patch. Someone said they doubted a price of lb10 (sorry, US keyboard) in the UK. $10 US might be pushing it. Before anyone else wastes their money, check out their forums http://forums.vugames.com/thread.jspa?thre...=0&tstart=0 Hope to save some headaches
  19. '63 Galaxie? That just cries for a 390 w/ a Sixpack (if it doesn't have one already)! Jace - Sorry, Ford GT are way expensive, the only ones I can afford are in Gran Turismo.
  20. I remember thinking like Chris82. As someone w/ kids I'm pretty sure that won't work the way you want, but if you try then get some video so we can remember you fondly. For the Islands, get the Attack Gunboat or Bodog Stampede. They both make life easier.
  21. Never played the top-down GTAs (can we still be friends?). In LCS (PS2), Smash TV was in one of the cargo ships at the docks. I think I used the Flame thrower & wore the Chicken outfit.
  22. Depends on state, most are 18 for age of consent (old enough for sex) but higher for drinking. I am convinced our political system is a dumping ground for the mentally retarded.
  23. For some reason I thought you were in the UK, but looked at you profile & saw NC (I presume North Carolina), sorry about that. Got knocked in the head a few years back, some times it comes back on me. Now that I've had my Grampa Juice: You asked about emissions controls in another thread. They've been a pain since '73, some cars as early as '68. When the phased out carbs & breaker points, they got rid of a lot of junk. By the mid '80s some one figured out how to grind a cam that made decent power & burned cleaner. I'm guessing you have things like EGR, Smog pump & Catalytic Converter on the little Bronco. Before '83 we just got rid of that & the cars ran better, so when Early computer controls came into play they added sensors to most of it. You can still get rid of the catalytics until '94-'96 (Depending on model) when OBD II went into wide use in the US. Then they added sensors to the cats. Swapping your Bronco to a 5-speed would be a little work, but not impossible. Get a donor vehicle w/ all the 5-speed parts & the computer (should be in the dash, behind the glove box). This has been today's history lesson, Let's MOTOR!
  24. They still do. I'll answer that over in GTD (?) where we've been talking cars.
