Short answer - Modding console versions of GTA is problematic & difficult at best & you get into copyright issues. If you want to mod, get the PC version (preferably V1, or read the SA downgrader topic). Read the pinned topics at the top of the modding page for more details. Read the rules, welcome & enjoy.

Practice w/ the cops, once you get used to the new system I think you'll like it better than the older ones. Have you messed w/ the video options in the game itself? I turned mine up & it looks pretty good on my old 43" I play on, definitely better than VCS does. I think my complaint is how Niko "limps down stairs & won't run up or down them.

That's easy, look for that ("DEFINE MEMORY .....") at the top of the script when you first open it & raise the number (to 50000 or so). I think this sets how much memory is alloted for the MAIN.SCR on your computer when you play. I think I've raised mine to 55000 & it's still stable. Good luck.

You'll be glad to know Chris posted a list of GTA4 cheats, w/ warning that they disable achievements. I like the upgraded cops, they have to see you this time instead of just show up around you & lock on. Except for a little "incident" at the airport (my poor taxi, my poor me ) losing them has been easy for me.

Master the handbrake & ambulances/firetrucks will be easy $$$. The game has come a long way since GTA3, but it's still a good play. I still dust it off from time to time.

I found out (the hard way) that if you go on to the tarmac at the airport early in the game you get a 4-* warrant. My poor taxi died horribly, soon followed by me.

Remember when they said weapons wouldn't be laying around the city like previous GTAs? I'll give you guys this one, you still get shotgun & 5 rounds from police cars. The downside is that they all have a cop nearby. Easy, get any car & pull up behind the car (for example the one parked between Niko's flat & Roman's depot), push the copcar for a block. As long as there's not a beat cop nearby, you get an easy shotgun & ammo.

So load up your console w/ or whatever you like & play that. I did find an option to put GPS in all vehicles but so far nothing about volume.

Not sure if any of the following counts as spoilers, so consider yourself advised. Agreed on the changed control setup, this one (X360) takes a little getting used to. On the other hand, (in multi-player at least) You can now run w/ any weapon & shooting from a car is improved & more realistic. Fun? Hell yeah! Tuesday night (US central) I hung out w/ Chris, Rem & Chris 82 for a while & had a blast. Took a heli tour of the city in a Maverick only to find out our beloved leader is a madcapper who likes to shoot peds, traded lead w/ Rem & RPG rounds w/ Chris82. Had fun. To me it's definitely worth it, just a little different from what we're used to.

Back up any file you plan to edit! Open CARCOLS.DAT, find the Maverick line & change the entry after that to "0,0". This makes all Mavericks black until you change it back.

(Loads shot-dildo, stands clear of ensuing firefight.) In a few hours I plan to eat an obscene amount of jumbo shrimp (yeah, I know, oxymoron). After that a nap & TV. Then it's in search of my copy of GTA4 at midnight. Later.

Considering the delay & all the hype, I'd be surprised if ti didn't.

Pick up the mission from OG Loc at the burger shot where you drop him off. The actual mission happens on the beach near the outdoor gym by 3 pedestrian bridges. The Alhambra club (where you can practice) is about a block North of Unity Station. Look for a small closed yard on the East side of Unity Station for a handy MP5 while you're in the area.
