  1. Wow, looks excellent, also it appears that not only are stores located on the map but those police are as well. Also notice the artsy effect this game suffers in screenshots...it's interesting, it looks like some parts of the picture have really low detail or are painted on...but this effect doesn't appear in video (trailers) of the game...why just still pictures?
  2. Yes, everything has to die of old age right now, because the older you get when you stop growing, the more corrupted your DNA gets and the more problems your cells have when they reproduce...hence signs of aging and dying of age.
  3. You use the animation toolbar and create frames, but since Adobe removed ImageReady in CS3, I use Fireworks to make animated .gifs, but if you have Photoshop CS2 or earlier it includes ImageReady and Google "ImageReady animated .gif" if you can't figure it out.
  4. Really? I've never seen that as news, but that's a good thing if it's true. But yes, in core gameplay/graphics there is little difference as the hardware is pretty comparable.
  5. The hell? Stop spreading misinformation please, there are very few differences between the versions. The only MAJOR difference in the core game is the absence of achievements on the PS3 version.
  6. Nice, it will be interesting to see everything you can do. Although the RPG elements like fat, muscle, etc...were removed, it seems like other similar elements were added, like upgrading your phone. I can't wait to see how you can upgrade where you live, i.e. starting out in a run-down apartment and ending up in a mansion. 10+ hours for the DLC? Worth it in itself, this game is one of the few reasons I picked up a 360 at all.
  7. Like San Andreas, wanted stars will appear in the upper-right corner only when you have a wanted level. Good HUD, much cleaner but still shows a lot of information.
  8. If by "videos" you mean "cutscenes," you're wrong, because all GTA cutscenes are rendered in real-time, and aren't little video files.
  9. Whether or not you believe in God has absolutely nothing to do with ethics. I'm an atheist. I don't believe morality truly exists. That is, I don't believe any occurence can be classified as either "right" or "wrong" because fundamentally there is no right or wrong. All events are concrete until we make them abstract by inducing our emotions (which are only the product of our environment and therefore subject to change, anyhow). However, despite this idea, I still maintain respect. So just because I'm atheist does not mean I don't care about anything. Why is that nearly every answer to this question that I ever see is typically always based solely from emotions? Yes, it is possible to believe in God and be against religion. Yes, it is possible to not believe in God while still being a "good" person. For fuck's sake. This. Sometimes I'm not sure, but if anything, I'm a de-ist...the belief that life was created but after that, the creator has never interfered or done anything with life.
  10. Nono what they mean is this, ps3 owners have to install the game to their harddrive it isnt optional, but with the 360 you can chose whether to or not, hard drive = little better performance, but you dont have to... Where did you hear this? Why would PS3 owners have to install GTA IV on their PS3's hard drive? Especially considering how much space is on a Blu-Ray disk.
  11. Yes, use software like Audacity to combine your mp3s and such into one large mp3 file and then convert to adf.
  12. Really? Considering the marginal CPU use that plug-ins take up is only taken up when the plug-in does actual work. And unless your computer is incredibly shitty, Firefox shouldn't take that much longer to load than IE if you're using Windows.
  13. Well nobody's going to send you gta3.img because of its size. Reinstall and backup your game next time.
  14. The Best Buy one looks real, I'd like to have that.
  15. The mod wouldn't remove any .dll files, make sure you don't have a virus or malware and also remove all files related to San Andreas that aren't in the 'User Files' folder before reinstalling the game.
  16. Because Internet Explorer is considerably harder to use than most other browsers, considerably slower at rendering than other browsers, and crashes a lot more than other browsers.
  17. Wow, my 360 was manufactured in March, 2005 and I've never had a single problem with it, luck of the draw I guess. Best of luck on getting it fixed.
  18. Gaming website ComputerAndVideoGames.com has posted an article about their experience with GTA IV's Liberty City. Information revealed includes: Mini-games confirmed for GTA IV include pool, basketball, darts, golfing at driving ranges and arcade games, such as Go Go Space Monkey, which was also featured in San Andreas. The trucking company from San Andreas, RS Haul, returns and missions based around the company have returned as well. 'Gruppe Sechs' securicars have returned and players are able to steal them and deliver them to locations for a reward, but this task is said to be much trickier than in previous games. The game features many references to 'Crackdown,' a GTA-style game available for the Xbox 360 which also uses RenderWare, GTA's previous engine. Vehicles such as the Stallion and Comet from previous games appear in IV, as well as the NRG500, a motorcycle. A new motorcycle called the NHG900RR is also confirmed to be in the game and is rumored to be the fastest one available. GTA IV contains photos of Vice City, similar to the maps found scattered around San Andreas. References to previous GTA games through graffiti is also spread throughout the city. Binco, Burger Shot, 24-7 and Clucking Bell are all returning, in addition to many other brands from previous GTA games. 'Alderney' features several strip malls where you can purchase food, clothing, and more. New York City-style news tickers on buildings will be constantly updated based on what crimes you commit in the game. There are several innuendos and references to the Hot Coffee mod for San Andreas. As previously mentioned, pedestrian actions will be incredibly varied and detailed compared to previous games. "Flushing Meadows (site of the NY World's Fair) is featured in its entirety, as is a recreation of theme park Astroland at Coney Island. Rides such as the Corpse Ride and Cyclone can be tested, and the major tourist spots will play a part in some missions." Sprunk can be purchased, as in San Andreas, to replenish your health. Similarly to Saints Row, yet another GTA-style sandbox game, phone numbers are scattered throughout the city and you can call them for whatever services they entail. A place called the Videogeddon Arcade allows you to play arcade games and posters attacking violent video games can be seen. The 'sky tram' featured on the box-art for GTA IV can actually be used as a mode of transportation, although it costs money as do the taxis. Read the original list here @ ComputerAndVideoGames Thanks to Wheelman101 for finding this. Also, the new issue of GamePro features a preview of GTA IV's multiplayer. While the article contains no new information, three brand-new screenshots are featured in the article: Thanks to nikolaibellic for finding these.
  19. Originally, their browser was called Mozilla and it was similar to Netscape...included an email client, etc...but it was discontinued after the success of Firefox...which was basically originally an attempt to have a really small (in size, memory usage,etc...) browser that was also very customizable and extensible. Click 'Help' and then 'About' in the top toolbar and see which version you have...God help you if it's version 6. That's because Apple is evil, all their shit should be separate, why do I have to install Quicktime with iTunes, etc...and now Safari? No thanks, I'll stick with Winamp, VLC, and Firefox.
  20. Just get Firefox, it's the same thing as Safari + extensions.
  21. While I don't believe "Mexican" is a language, I certainly know that you did not fuck my mother and that I am not an asshole.
  22. The console versions do have multiplayer. Yes the PC version is a lot better and I will be getting it, just not exclusively. I'm getting the special edition for 360 and then I'll buy it for PC whenever it's released.
  23. There are so many things wrong with that statement, "all html" is not made for IE. HTML isn't made for any browser, but browsers are supposed to comply with html's standards. IE doesn't and that's why it does such a bad job of rendering pages. god please dont start again, i don't want to start a nagging 6 post topic for no reason. ok 'most' html was made to suit the only browser available at that time. but i didn't think one word would bother people so much. back on topic now please. Webpages were designed to support popular browsers at the time, but webpages change constantly and things were 'different' back then, standards were different and a lot more people used IE because it was one of only a few acceptable browsers available. Sure a lot of websites today work in IE6 but HTML was never made to support a specific browser. And I know you don't think IE6 was the only browser available at the time. Netscape? Mosaic? Both (and many others) were available long before IE. Don't get so upset when your arguments are counter-acted, if you'd like to continue this discussion you can start a topic about it in this forum.
  24. lol sites that make April Fools jokes and then try to say they're real are funny. Seriously, if RsW was really taken over by EA, do you think it would say "We are the EA, Resistance is futile" ?
