Hi all. I though it'd be a good idea to post a topic about how you guys came / come across all the music you listen to. We have a massive variety of music obviously being listened to, hence the 'What are you listening to' topic. But how do you find it all.

And give some examples, not just a 3 word post or whatever please?

Personally, i got into a band not so long ago called the 'F - Ups' (That's the actual name, i'm not profanity dodging!) But the thing is, living in the UK, it's either bloody impossible or bloody expensive to get the album for a band from the 'states.... And i just bought the album off ebay 10 mins ago..... 1 cent, oh yeah!

Anyway, i first heard their song 'lazy generation' on burnout 3 (quality game), and really liked it. Tells society everything i want to say, which kinda saves me the effort.

Go!

Lmao nice, I am at my friend's house and it's only 6:47 here.

I find my music usually from people, sometimes on the music channels on TV, occasionally the radio, in videogames when there are good songs (usually GTA or NFS games), sometimes in movies songs that I really like. Oh yeah, when I go to dances I discover new songs I really like, usually stick to what I know though.

I get mine from Films, Videogames, TV, Radio and friends. The filmmusic I get could be catchy songs, or the original score for a movie that I like eg Heat, Casino, Amiercan Psycho etc. The videogame music I get is mainly from the GTA games, I have a huge selection from Vice City and some other songs from the others. My TV music is usually from an advert, there's one I'm looking for now, although I don't really remember the advert. Radio is a huge part in me getting new music, I listen to it on a daily basis and don't just restrict myself to 2 or 3 stations, I regularly search as many as possible in order to find the stuff I want. The internet also plays a big part, I use it to look for film soundtracks and/or tracklists, looking for a specific song, and friends send me new music every few days on MSN. I mostly don't like what they send, but some of it is good from time to time.

TV, a little. Have cable & a DVR (like Tivo, records to a hard drive instead of tapes), so I get these music channels.

Not like VH1 or MTV, just music w/ still pics & little trivia lines. I'll put on smooth jazz or something like that to sleep.

Like the band "Back to the Bone". Quick search didn't find the band, just a CD by another artist w/ that title.

Also like Bruce Kaphan.
