Computer sat up on the gurney & insisted it was fine, refused to pay the ER bill & walked out. Now it's working again.

I'm looking at a gigabyte board w/ AMD 64 4000, 2 gig of ram & on-board Ge-Force 6100 w/ a PCI express slot for upgrading.

The board is support faster chips & up to 8 gig ram. There's also a new 500w power supply.

This is through a authorized rep for about $300 & includes 24/7 tech support, after hours probably costing me a couple cold

beers.

try to get a compaq, there very good, and cheap,

my Compaq Stock:

Amd 64 pros.

2 ghz

512mb ram

Gforce 6150LE

280 gb memory

400watt

Comaq custom(now):

Amd 64 bit pros.

2.2ghz

1.5 Gbs ram

ATI1950 pro

300 gb memory

600watt

----------------------------------

all i did was add the new video card and 1 gb of ram and it increased a few things too.

Prices

videocard-150$ thank god for random future shop sales :P

power supply-60 bucks from staples.

1 gb ddr ram-70 bucks from office depo

so around 280$ alltogether, oh and i payed 200 flat for the tower, keyboard, mouse, but i had to get a new monitor,

I duuno if I said this (I am on lots of forums) but I got Dual Monitor now, on New Years Eve I just plugged an external monitor into my laptop and instead of cloning the display I told it to extend the desktop. I used to use my Laptop as a Desktop so I cloned the display and tried it once, but now I have it permanently, I made room on my desk and shit...

Uhm, Chrismas has already passed...

And why in gods name did you get a 8800 GTX for Christmas. Are you crazy? Y'know. If you've got that nVidia chipset then you could have gotten 2 8800 GT's which will be cheaper then one GTX and quite a bit faster too.

this i had only one only...

i hope to have ATi Radeon HD3870 DDR3 768MB but my father bought a NVidia 8800GTX DDR3 1024MB

anyway ATi Radeon is better than NVidia

Now that's even weirder. You hoped to have a card that is about 35% slower then the GTX (in Crysis and with AA off. ATi cards are better then nVidia cards when AA is on.) and complain that you got the beter card.

Oh, and actually. I don't believe you. The 8800 GTX's Memory Interface does not support 1024mb (384-bit, making 1024mb 2,66. Thus being impossible) of GDDR3 ;)
