  1. Wow, excellent information. The game sounds really good and it looks nice too, though it's a shame they don't anti-alias console games-it would look SO much better. When this hits the PC it'll look quite good.
  2. lol civil rights sarcasm For those of you who don't know or use Wikipedia, yesterday was Martin Luther King, Jr. day here in the US. James Earl Ray was the man who assassinated King.
  3. Congrats to everyone! And thanks to everyone for naming me...biggest geek. Although I am a self-admitted geek too.
  4. I've got a similar build, although I have the Black Edition of that processor (it's meant for overclocking). I also have the faster version of that memory and I highly recommend that you get it as that mobo supports it. I also have a 250gb Western Digital HD and you should get a hard drive with a cache of 16mb. Video card and power supply look good. Have fun.
  5. Hm, strange, go into settings and disable all security.
  6. If you downloaded the Steam version, just replace it with a 1.0 .exe. There are differences between the Steam .exe and the 2.0 exe, notably that the Steam .exe changes the game to not require a CD in the drive to run.
  7. There is no such thing as bigfoot, just like in real life.
  8. The 'ghost' cars are cars meant to look messed up/abandoned in the woods. They ever have separate models than the non-'ghost' versions. As for the birds, yes, it's a texture that R* just mapped onto the surface repeatedly. The Back O Beyond name is an interesting coincidence though.
  9. Daemon Tools allows you to mount certain types of files but not whole folders. Further discussion is probably not allowed as it pertains to warez.
  10. Download allowance? That's weird, you shouldn't really go with an ISP that actually limits how much you can download. Anyway I think this website will help you.
  11. It's a reference to the Village People, a band made up of those characters and popular at the time Vice City took place.
  12. I personally loved GTA3, sure there were issues with it but Rockstar can be forgiven for certain things. GTA3 was the first game of its kind (free-roaming with weapons and large city). Driver 2, sure, but you couldn't actually use the handgun nor could you traverse such a large, relatively high-texture city on one disc. Technology was more limited back then. GTA3 was obviously in development since 1998 or 1999, some resources such as a radio advertisement for Flashback FM (which commented that the player was in the 90s) show this. So not only were they limited technologically in that aspect but they were using the shittiest engine that ever shat: Renderware. Yet GTA3 was probably why so many people bought PS2s then. The PS2 was successful because it was such great exclusives that people wanted. GTA, Madden football, etc...Then Xbox came into the picture and since it gained the rights to GTA and Madden, as well as having Halo as an exclusive, among other games, its successor clearly beat the everliving shit out of PS3 in the next generation of video games. But that's off-topic. GTA3 did have some problems like crashing, not being well-optimized for PC or PS2, and a sometimes bad camera, but it was still one of the best games I've ever played.
  13. Please be more specific so that we can help you. Please provide a link to the building mod you downloaded as well as what version of San Andreas you're using (1.0, 1.0.1, 2.0, Direct2Drive, Steam, etc...)
  14. That wasn't really needed, yes I can see similarities between them but the way the images fill up the logos are different, as well as the application of the image. Nice wallpaper, it's one of the most 'official' looking I've ever seen.
  15. Please post in this topic
  16. LOL WUT? Why would you leave people in a wrecked car, especially if they already called for an ambulance. If you got them out of the car it's better for everyone, especially the injured since they can get to a hospital faster. As far as America's Army, the game absolutely sucks, but any vidja game helping someone save lives is amazing.
  17. You simply download the 100% safe file you like. Then you extract it using a utility such as WinRAR. Then you drag the savefile (inside the .rar it will usually be called "GTASAsf1.b") You drag this file into My Documents/GTA San Andreas User Files. Keep in mind this will replace any other saved games in that slot. Start up SA, pick load game, and pick your save file.
  18. I don't understand why everyone doesn't have broadband, apart from the few places where it's not available, cheap broadband (384k downstream) can be had for a similar price as dial-up.
  19. Yes, I had a problem with MTA not working. The beta system uses a serial number assigned to individual people. The problem I had was with it saying my serial was invalid. First, register an MTA beta account. Then uninstall MTA, reinstall it and check the option to not use an account. Then after you install the game, go to Start, Run, type regedit, click ok, then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas. There should be two registry keys. One called (Default) and one called GTA:SA Path. Right-click in the box with the keys and create a new string value, called Username. Make the value data the username you registered the MTA account with. Then create another new string value called Serial and make the value data the serial number provided on your MTA account webpage.
  20. I agree with Spaz, this IS a vote based on looks, you really shouldn't take how well you 'like' them or how smart you think they are into consideration here.
  21. The retailers are guessing on when the game is most likely to be released.
  22. Hm, that's like me with my hatred of My Chemical Romance. Sounds like a good band btw, I will have to get their albums.
  23. Not true, getting around a user account password is easy in Windows XP. Assuming you're on Windows XP, though I'd assume this works in Vista too.
